Reading your latest post, the rant on the Main Event has me wondering some things I'm sure you answered a bunch of times: Say Honky does his job and lays down to Savage, the screw job takes place, and now Dibiase is Champ 6 weeks before Wrestlemania. So a) was the title tourney always in the cards?  Or was Dibiase gonna face Hogan?   All I've ever read was Dibiase loses to Savage at Summerslam was the plan.   And b) what becomes of the IC title?  Does Savage face Honky at Mania and then job to Bad News Brown to get read for Dibiase?   What was in the cards for WM 4 if no tournament? I knew this would come up again. The plan was for the Hogan-Andre match to go off as planned, the title would be stripped, and Dibiase would win the tournament before losing it at Summerslam.  The tournament was always planned.  No idea if there was any concrete plans for Savage as IC champion, unless it was a rematch with Honky.   ​

Yeah, I know that’s wacky numbering, but blame the Network as they have The Main Event listed as episode 37 of SNME.  I have multiple versions of the two matches featured on this show, so we’ll just include everything for fun, since they’ve been done on different DVDs and such.

Tonight on the Network, it's a live stream replay of Battleground 2014. There's a full slate of MLB action on tap. If you're not interested in any of that, come on in and regale us with stories of food and drunkenness.

hey scott!  When Barry Windham left the wwe abruptly at end of 85, his team with Mike Rotundo was one of hottest acts in the company. After losing to Beefcake and Valentine, they started the angle where Barry was recovering from being blinded and were set to resume the feud with the dream team. If Barry doesnt bolt, would they have blown the feud off at Mania 2? All signs pointed that direction until Barry bolted.  ​I don't know, Barry seemed to be pretty anxious to get back to the loving embrace of Dusty's protection and booking.  The WWF never was a really good fit for him and never seemed super-comfortable there.  The cigar angle seemed more like a blowoff of the character to me.  ​

What on earth was the deal with Renegade?   Did Vince ever sue for such a Warrior ripoff?   And did the fans shit on him when they realized he wasn't Hellwig?   I mean by early 95, it was pretty awful with washed up WWF guys everywhere but to me Renegade takes the cake ​Well as to the legality, at some point Vince lost the rights to the whole Warrior gimmick back to Hellwig, so it might have been a case of him not being able to sue in the first place.  And yes, fans absolutely shit on Renegade from the moment he debuted, because WCW had essentially been promising Ultimate Warrior.  I think Hogan legitimately thought he could build up this clod into a Warrior-type foil and draw money with him, but I'm not in his deranged mind so I couldn't say for sure.  ​

Scott, With Brock,why is he so shielded and protected? I know that's a broad question,but in terms of match quality and how quickly the initial buzz/pop wears off after each return,is he worth the outlay? For example,Brock returns and loses a hot match to Cena. OK. He then draws a big buyrate against HHH. Their two rematches sucked however,but one was a WrestleMania and one was a rushed B-show bout so no real spotlight,in terms if numbers, was shone on either. His Punk bout at SummerSlam last year was a **** affair at least but the event flopped finacially. The Big Show angle stunk in every respect earlier this year, and the subsequent Taker stuff had historical value but the match itself was never going to be a classic. Now,he's going to be champion in a few weeks,timed brilliantly to 'save' the Network, and then pretty much vanish with the belt. I still like Brock and his mystique a hell of a lot,but when the dust settles on this run will it be expos...

Tonight, we're supposed to have Sheamus and Rusev which tickles me so. Let's get moving.

Tonight on the Network, it's Main Event at 8:00 ET, Wrestlemania Rewind at 9:00 featuring the Mysterio/Angle/Orton triple threat match from WM XXII, and Countdown at 10:00 featuring the top ten "riveting rivalries". Also, a full slate of MLB games this evening.

I thought of hopping on here and pimping tonight's PPV, Night 2 of the G1 tournament. To be honest though, it's probably the weakest card of the tournament, so instead I figured I'd share the match from yesterday that many have called the greatest singles match of AJ Styles' career. For my money, the only thing keeping this from the full monty is the ref-bump/run-in business, and even then the crowd was so into that. A must see for "wrestling" fans.
