Jones Hooked On Booze, Chyna On Who Knows What…

http://www.f4wonline.com/more/more-top-stories/118-daily-updates/25714-chyna-passes-out-a-third-time

Amazingly, two pieces of stupidity this morning, as Chyna is found passed out the SAME PORN CONVENTION…AGAIN.  To paraphrase Boogie Nights, you think this might mean she should get some better shit?  But really, when you pass out at a porn convention twice, there’s obviously a more innocent and career-friendly explanation that we just haven’t heard yet, so we’ll give her the benefit of the doubt.

And then…

http://www.f4wonline.com/more/more-top-stories/118-daily-updates/25710-jones-arrested-on-dwi-charge-earlier-today

Turns out that Rashad was right and Jon Jones and his Bible thumping might have just been a put-on after all.  Rough week for Dana White, although this picture kind of sums it up:

I’m pretty sure Jones wasn’t doing Bud Lights at 4:00 AM when he wrapped his $250,000 Bentley around a pole, though.

  1. Forget both of those stories, the best story out there is a former writer telling a story about Vince wanting the director of "See No Evil" have Kane pull out his penis in the movie and have it "cgi'd" to be 3-feet long.

    Best.Story.Ever.

  2. Really? Somebody of faith can't make a mistake and still be "legit"? I don't care at all about religion but that's some jump there.

  3. It's not the faith, it's that Jones was quoted as saying he'd never be the guy who was caught getting a DWI and making the company look bad, BECAUSE he was a man of faith and you could depend on him as a result. And Rashad called him on that particular line of bullshit as part of the build to their fight.

  4. I think Vince got Kane's movie and his biopic mixed up. Honest mistake.

  5. all religious people are hypocritical assholes who are only pious up until their secrets are found out.

  6. When X-Pac is telling you to clean up your act on twitter, it might be time for some help.

  7. Man, I'm an atheist and I still don't agree with this generalization.  Can't it be somewhere in the middle?  Some religious people are humble and don't boast about things and really live that life while others are secretly hypocrites.

No one group of people can be lumped into a category without nuance.

  8. I should clarify. I shouldnt have generalized by saying "religious" people. What I meant was those who dedicate their lives to organized religion and their notion of god, or those who act like they are morally superior because they drink the kool aid. Those people are all hypocrites and I have no time for them and no respect. The average joe who goes to church on Sunday and donates a bit... I dont really care either way.

  9. I blame the people who enable Joanie's destructive behaviour more than I do her. Someone she can trust needs to pull the rug out from under her and get her into some serious rehab.

    ReplyDelete
  10.  That was the most hilarious news piece ever. Vince needs all of the therapies that exist. Although it must have made Kane's day. That's one hell of a vote of confidence from your boss!

  11. Jones absolutely said you could count on him to never get a DUI. However, as far as I've read, he never premised that assertion on his being a man of faith.
While it's fair and appropriate to judge Jones here, I don't think this is any way calls into question the legitimacy or credibility of his faith

  12. I wonder what Joanie's actually on. I'm guessing she's coking it up until she blacks out, but there's also the possibility she's been slamming Oxys or something and slowing herself down to the point of blackout. I'm just glad she doesn't have kids to be affected by her nonsense. As far as I'm concerned she should just live it up until she starts to be a nuisance to others. Just don't let her drive.

Kind of a bummer about Bones Jones though, but it's only going to help his career, honestly. News media and sports media in particular love the Golden Boy Christian athlete as much as they love the Fallen Star and the Bad Boy, and now Jones gets to be all of those things. He can play that up as his "gimmick".

  13.  WTF?  Please check your politics and religion at the door, please.  This is a wrestling site and I really don't care to read some guy coming in all half-cocked about how religious people are hypocrites.  I don't think there's anyone on this blog that doesn't know someone who's a credit to their faith (aka a genuinely good and selfless person), be it Christian, Jew, Muslim, Hindi, Buddhist, whatever.

  14. So *that's* why Lita decided to dump Matt Hardy and marryKane!

  15. I know everyone makes fun of Chyna and such, but honestly, I feel bad for her. I truly do. I mean, before the business, or during the beginning of her run, she sounded like she was just a quiet, nice person. Unfortunately, she got a big head, but it happens to the best of'em.

I mean, I'm about as low on the "celebrity" totem pole as a person can get, and even I grow tired of hearing people talk shit. I can only imagine how Chyna feels after 15 years of people talking unprovked shit to her. Now she's obviously wrapped up in drugs, and I've been there, it can be rough. I truly hope she comes out on top of this [no pun intended].

  16. I'm guessing it's a mix of benzos (likely Xanax) and opiates. I know a guy who thinks it's a good idea to do Xanax while on methadone, and he often wakes up in odd places thinking "how the hell did I get here?" Dude's gonna die if he doesn't chill with that shit.

  17. Reading the full story is just sounded like Vince wanted an, ahem, "massive" dick joke in the movie.  Still hilarious though.

  18. Reminded me of when Jericho told Punk during their feud that he would never drink and drive.

  19. When I didn't watch that porno I assumed she was on some kind of downer like Oxy's or Vicodin.

  20. And the running joke for tonight's live thread IS..........

  21. Man, Joanie Lauer is a fucking goer.

    Shame she's a dude.

  22.  Except Nickelback fans...

  23.  Yeah, it's everyone else's fault but hers -- Whoever is "enabling" her only has access to her for a certain amount of hours on the day -- She is with herself 24/7 (though I suppose that could be debated) and only she can decide whether or not she can eventually come back from the edge of the abyss -- I sincerely hope she can fight her demons to at least a standstill in order to find some semblance of balance -- I hope I'm wrong but I don't see a good end for her...

  24. On a bit of a tangent, is paying for the Observer worth it? I've always been tempted, but I seem to keep up with news pretty well by going to ewrestlingnews.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm totally on the same page as you. I just feel bad for her. When you find yourself working in porn and passing out at porn conventions, chances are things didn't turn out the way you hoped.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I said nothing about it not being her fault. She is to blame for putting herself in situations. The people who are more coherent and sane than her who turn a blind eye to her problems and are letting her self-destruct have more to answer for, though.

    ReplyDelete
  27.  Not sure I get the "it's fair and appropriate to judge Jones here" statement -- We're qualified to judge him how, exactly? We have an opinion, nothing more -- Dude did something he said he'd never do; now we know he's just like the rest of us (except for being totally bad-ass and all -- Though I believe your coming from a good place I find it funny how you think you can judge him behind the safety of your keyboard.

I have a rule that I try and apply when I post: Whenever I write about someone, I imagine myself as if I'm speaking physically in front of that person -- It helps temper some of the otherwise stupid shit I'm inclined to write -- Of course, it's more of a guideline than a rule :-)

  28. There is the celebrity totem pole, then the 7 circles of hell, then an alternate universe celebrity totem pole and you're not even at the bottom of that.

  29. I believe it's fair and appropriate to judge actions that endanger the health and safety of others. That's what Jones did. It goes beyond a poor personal choice.
And Jones has publicly embraced the role of "role model". That's admirable, and I believe him to be earnest. But when you voluntarily assume that role, you have to accept the backlash from actions such as this one.
That being said, I am a huge fan of his talent and work, and hope this is an experience he learns and grows from.

    ReplyDelete
  30.  I'm guessing that nearly everybody is more coherent and sane than that poor girl currently id but I'm also guessing that anybody hanging out with her is probably about a 2 on the Sane and Coherent scale

  32.  Picking nits here but you wrote that it's fair and appropriate to judge Jones -- I know what you mean but you came across as rather pious (in my opinion) -- Dude goes into the Octagon to "endanger the health and safety of others" for a living -- He fucked up and I'm hoping he'll own it and move on -- Still don't agree with the whole judgment thing, makes you sound somewhat holier than thou...

I will say no, cuz theres always some columnists trying to be *FIRST* on some geocities website.

  34.  I don't want to get into a thing here, but it is ridiculous to compare:
    1) endangering the lives of innocent people by (allegedly) driving so drunk and recklessly you total your car into a pole, and
    2)  professional athletes who voluntarily assume the regulated risk of fighting in a cage

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yeah, I used some pretty specious reasoning there. I think we can disagree without getting into a "thing." "Things" are for people who take themselves a bit too seriously. You made a statement, I commented on it and now we're in a discussion. If we were at a bar, we'd be having this talk over a beer. Hopefully we'd be smart enough not to let Jones drive us home afterward :-)

    ReplyDelete
  36. And here I thought that this particular post that we're all commenting on was all about judging people who made bad decisions.  I guess our job is to steer the discussion to wrestling regardless of what Scott wants to talk about?
