Thoughts on this? It sounds like another version of Superstars.

That's exactly what they need after adding an hour to Raw that pretty much no viewer wants to see added: another weekly hour of original programming!
ReplyDeleteJust curious, but here in the UK we get a programme called Vintage Collection, does anywhere else get it? I'd imagine it's the kind of thing Scott would like: three or four old/rare matches interspersed with Mean Gene providing some background.
ReplyDeleteThe most recent episode featured a cruiserweight six-man tag from Smackdown (2002ish), tag title match between the Dudleys and Kidman/London, 2 Cold Scorpio vs Eddie Guerrero from ECW, and Jericho/Juvi title vs mask. All were around ***+ and a whole lot of fun.
Highly recommended if you can find it.
Re:WWE Main Event - another Superstars, surely.
Drew McIntyre... You're up!
ReplyDeleteYou mean another weekly half hour of original programming, plus a half hour of clip videos we've already seen.
ReplyDeleteBig news for fans of Trent Baretta & Drew McIntyre.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't sound like another version of Superstars; it IS.
ReplyDeleteIn the grand tradition of Wrestling Challenge, The Action Zone, Shotgun Saturday Night, Sunday Night Heat, Superstars V 2.0, and season 1 of NXT, a show that will lure you in with top talent, and attempt to keep you as it becomes a D-level show.
ReplyDeleteWe have it in Canada.
ReplyDeleteOr did, anyhow. I'm not 100% sure, haven't watched in a while.
we still do, it just amazes me that they have nearly every match ever in American pro wrestling history and they STILL put duds on that show
ReplyDelete3 hours of Raw+2 hours off Smackdown+1 hour os Superstars+1 hour of WWE Main Event+3 hours of PPV= 10 hours of WWE programing on some weeks, and 7 on others. add TNA and that's 2 hours of impact (12 Hours) and perhaps 3 hours of PPV (15 hours) then ROH has a 1 hour tv show (16 hours) and 3-4 hours of I-PPV. this equals out to anywhere between 10-20 hours of wrestling every week.
ReplyDeleteFurther thought, in My part of Canada (South Western Ontario, only a few hours north of Buffalo NY) the week is;
ReplyDeleteMonday: Raw
Tuesday:NXT
Wednesday:Main Event
Thursday:Superstars/Impact
Friday: Smackdown
Saturday:Ring of Honor wrestling
Sunday:Pay-Per-View
there are 7 days in a week and all of them are covered by 3 companies
And this isn't NXT because...?
ReplyDeleteHey, I live in Buffalo! Anyway, this reminds me of the late 90's, where they'd have wrestling every night but Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteBaretta is extremely underrated!
ReplyDeleteI record it, then skip anything that will clearly be terrible. I can understand them saving the very best stuff for dvd releases, but there are still some forgotton gems on there.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling this will probably be a rebranded Superstars rather than an extra show.
ReplyDeleteAppropriately enough, I came to that same opinion watching him wrestle Curt Hawkins on Superstars every week for what felt like three years. He's a good 123 Kid style underdog/JTTS.
ReplyDeleteYeah we'll get WWE Main Event, with a main event of Big Zeke and Ryback.
ReplyDeleteI remember hearing a rumour not too long ago that WWE wasn't going to do their annual spring cleaning this year because Linda's trying to sell herself as a "job creator" in her Senate run and doesn't want to contradict that by firing a bunch of people from her own company. So I guess if the company's not going to release anyone, they need to create another show to give the Trent Barretas and JTGs something to do.
ReplyDeleteYup, I tried recapping it for a while but got bored with it and now I just watch the DVR'd episodes when I've got an hour to kill.
ReplyDeleteLinda McMahon: A Job Creator (Creating Jobs for Jobbers).
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see the WWE return to over the air television.
ReplyDeleteION isn't exactly a major network, but they have alot of stations all over the country.
So another hour of John Cena making dated references to kids who dont understand what the FACK he is talking about?
ReplyDeleteSign me the fuck up.
With commercials, it'll be only about 20 minutes of each.
ReplyDeleteWhat channel do you see NXT On Tuesday on? What channel do you see SuperStars on? I'm in Canada so I've never seen an episode of the new SuperStars yet. I'm probably not missing anything but it'd be nice to find out if I was. I assume it's probably on YouTube somewhere but I like watching TV shows on TV when I can.
ReplyDeleteIs the new NXT not on the Score anymore? i stopped paying attention awhile ago, and I KNOW that superstars is still online only in Canada, sorry :(
ReplyDeleteNXT is on Thursdays on The Score at 2 and 5 (Pacific Time) though I think it's changing to Fridays soon as part of a programming block with Vintage Collection, SmackDown, and Aftermath. So I was curious how you were seeing it on Tuesdays.
ReplyDeleteJeez, probably watched it on Thursdays and forgot it wasn't Tuesday since i stopped giving a shit so long ago x)
ReplyDeleteI like the show so I'd be happy to see it sooner in the week.
