The smarkiest Are You Serious yet! And that's saying something!
"I'm dressed as Loki"
"You mean the guy from NXT season 2?"
"No, that's Kaval."
Seriously, if their goofy comedy skits on Mondays were half this funny, there wouldn't be so much to complain about.
But then they'd have to fire a bunch of writers and agents, and WWE is a Job-Creator, not Job-Destroyer. Vote McMahon.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Josh Matthews will get the Michael Cole job when Cole moves on. He's knowledgeable about wrestling and not as insufferable as Cole.
ReplyDeleteThe Robocop segment alone had them making Sid scissor jokes and Nash quad jokes.
ReplyDeleteNow that Sid appeared on RAW, I'm hoping that next episode would feature him seeking revenge on the Are You Serious guys for their constant insults of him. Sid chasing Puppet H with a scissors would be gold.
ReplyDeleteOh god that Loki line nearly killed me!
ReplyDeleteFrom the very beginning, I requested them to do the Pig Pen match between HHH and HOG.
ReplyDeleteI can't for the life of me understand why they haven't done it yet.
Wait...
I loved the Target jokes during the Dean Douglas segment.
ReplyDeleteyeah i just picked too more at random to rewatch and see if there was any WWE, it's all WCW, and the line that WCW needed kids cause they where the only ones as stupid as there writers from episode 20 made me laugh because that's what i say about modern WWE
ReplyDeleteWCW ruins everything.
ReplyDelete*Dean Douglas has a red sign with four Latin words on it*
ReplyDeleteJosh: "What does that sign say?"
Dogg: "It says 'Expect More, Pay Less'"
I almost DIED on that line.
good point, counterpoint, Mae Young gave birth to a hand
ReplyDeleteBetter counterpoint: Katie Vick
The Low-ki joke was great, but almost as good was the "Let me guess, you were Thor" joke.
ReplyDeleteWho *is* writing this stuff? Or is it purely just Jammes and Mathews riffing and saying whatever the hell they feel like?
ReplyDeleteIf someone is actually writing this shit get them on the main show ASAP.
I always wondered why they spelled his name "Jammes" instead of "James" in WWE.
ReplyDeleteI assume it's a lot like how commentators have more freedom on non-RAW and SD shows.
ReplyDeleteAs I was typing it I was thinking "No that can't be right"..."No I swear that's how they spelled it"..."No that can't be right"...
ReplyDeleteI imagine it was a way of trademarking the name "Jesse James" without having to defend it in court against the family of both the oldy-time outlaw AND the biker guy?
Dunno, didn't think this one was all that funny, the scissors joke with Robocop being particularly not funny.
ReplyDeletePuppet Triple H has overstayed his welcome.
New(ish) fan, fill me in here, what do Sid and Scissors have to do with each other
ReplyDeleteThe way they use Puppet H is different now. He used to be that creepy guy who pops up every so often to provide unique ways to show terrible clips to torture the hosts, now he's just one of the guys and has become too lovable and cuddly. The producers are now too aware of the puppets popularity and start inserting him in the shows in the most unnatural manner. I liked how Puppet H was used n the earlier episodes.
ReplyDeleteYeah the WWE had its share of clunkers. I'm actually hoping for more 80's WWF. I'm still waiting for Outback Jack.
ReplyDeleteI could tell you, but letting you look up Sid Vicious in Wikipedia and searching for "scissors" would be far better for you. A "give a man a fish, teach a man to fish" kind of thing.
ReplyDeleteYes, Fuj, I am "that guy".
I'm no saint, but even to a guy like me, "Is that Kevin Nash under there?" "No he hasn't torn his quad yet" is COLD. Hilarious and awesome but cold. I love the interplay between Matthews and Road Dogg.
ReplyDelete"It's OK, boys. Someday they'll get us in the Hall of Fame! Well, some of us anyway."
ReplyDelete"Oooooh, awkward."
"The funny thing is [Flair] is actually more sane here than he is today."
"Is Natch at a bar? That's how he dresses at the bar."
"Arn Anderson has really let himself go."
"So has Billy Kidman!"
Trying to figure out what that sign says at 3:03...
Ding.
ReplyDeleteSid stabbed Arn Anderson with a pair of scissors when they were both in WCW. As a matter of fact, look up Sid stories on the Internet, it's a gold mine.
ReplyDeleteWWE doesnt understand the phrase "Less is More".
ReplyDeleteId say get rid of Lawler and Cole or stick them in the frigging basement, and let these two be the new commentary pair on Raw.
ReplyDeleteThat's the first time I ever watched AYS. Holy crap, I need to watch that more often. That's gold, Jerry,,,GOLD!
ReplyDeleteWHO OR WHAT IS A LOKI?
ReplyDelete
