They need to bring up some divas soon. Maybe they will bring in Sara Del Rey straight into the main roster to destroy what's left of the Diva's division.
The curse of Divas breaking up with wrestlers strikes again, although this one took a while to catch on. And she wasted hers on Justin Gabriel, of all people. Ah well she was wasting her time anyway, her best bet is to try and pull a Kiebler and bag herself a millionaire.
It seems the maximum shelf life for a modern Diva is about six years. Trish Stratus, Lita, Mickie James, and apparently Beth Phoenix, all got out or got canned at that point.
And nothing of value was lost. There was not a nanosecond in the last six months where I was thinking, "Hey, where's K2?" while watching WWE. Less of a firing, more of a trimming-the-fat.
Good riddance. We just had a pretty good women's match between Beth and Natalya on Smackdown. Amazing what happens when you put two women who actually know what the hell they're doing in a match.
After seeing Del Ray on ROH TV last weekend I wasn't impressed at all, she didn't look any better than any of the Divas in the ring. Maybe it was just an off-night (or maybe it's just because Maria Kanellis sucks and gave her nothing to work with), but from what I saw if she's supposed to be the savior of the Divas division then they should just pack it in now.
At least we're not talking about Mickie James or Gail Kim-type releases anymore. This and the pending Beth Phoenix departure seem to be amicable and almost mutually agreed upon while leaving the door open. The girls all go through pretty degrading stuff as it is. At least, now they can leave with a fair amount of grace. They both served a purpose and did their jobs well for 5-6 years.
Now, let's bring up some of those from developmental and give Natty, AJ, Sara, and Naomi a chance to put on some lengthy, decent matches.
That explains some things, as she hasn't been as active on her FB/Twitter the past number of weeks. Hope she comes out better and with a new focus. I really enjoy her matches and her charisma. Its just so different than the other women out there.
Same with the Bellas as well, where it's basically an open-door policy. Between the debacle of the WWE Divas division and the de-emphasis of the Knockouts, it's not a good time to be a woman in the division unless you tap into the zeitgeist of the audience like AJ Lee. Seriously, AJ in short shorts is basically all I need from women in wrestling.
I don't know...if she's hitched to a main event superstar and breaks up, she's out...see Mickie James and Beth Pheonix.
The way I see it, she's working her way up the card. Start with a Trent Baretta, move on to a midcarder like Rhodes, then finally a top tier guy to cement her status.
At least now my wife won't be confused when I'm watching wrestling in the other room. Every time Kelly was on she'd run in thinking she'd caught me watching porn.
