Hey Scott,
Curious which finishing moves from the past no longer used in WWE/TNA would you want pulled out of the mothballs. Personally I always like the Buff Blockbuster, though not the wrestler. Jerry Lynn's cradle pile driver was also pretty cool but that one surely would be reappearing in WWE any time soon.
STONE COLD STUNNER, DAMMIT.
The crossface chicken wing is sitting RIGHT THERE and no one has used it since Bob Backlund IIRC. I know that it's painful to take, but it's a great finishing move for someone to take on because you can work the crowd into a frenzy before you apply it. Early on, I thought Daniel Bryan should use it.
ReplyDeleteDDT
ReplyDeleteBrainbuster
Perfectplex
Frog Splash
Crucifix Powerbomb
I dunno...the Stunner is just too iconic of a maneuver to ever be used by anyone but Stone Cold Steve Austin. I'd love to see it, but I doubt any rassler would ever use it because he would immediately get compared to the Rattlesnake.
ReplyDeleteColor me a big fan of the standard piledriver. Somebody needs to bring that back...I let my friend pile-drive me on the carpet when I was 16, so if I can take that bump SURELY a well-conditioned, properly trained athlete can too.
I like the Brainbuster and perfect-plex too. The Blockbuster is a sweet move...somebody does that know in the E on occasion. Tyson Kidd maybe?
Kurt Angle used it briefly after his debut (with Backlund managing him), but scrapped it and went with the anklelock.
ReplyDeleteAgreed on Brainbuster. That can look lethal when done properly.
ReplyDeleteAdd the Rings of Saturn to the list too. I made Hank Hill on No Mercy and that's his finishin' move.
ReplyDelete"STONE COLD STUNNER, DAMMIT."
ReplyDeleteBecause doing that made Disco Inferno into a STAR, BAY-BEEEEE!
Brainbuster really works!
ReplyDeletehttp://seanbaby.com/nes/prowrest.htm
Only if the DDT is set up like Jake Roberts: stand still in a standing face lock, and slap the back on the way down to create the illusion of a high speed collision with the mat.
ReplyDeleteHow hard is it to emulate the master, instead of the shitty, transition move version that everybody now uses instead?
Ryback should steal the Brock Lock.
ReplyDeleteSince the re-emergence of Tag teams someone BETTER use the Rocket Launcher or Flap-Jack. I was always partial to the Hot Shot by Eddie Gilbert as well.
ReplyDeleteThey only way I see it working is if Austin got involved in an angle with a current up-and-comer using it on him. Sure, drawing comparisons to arguably the greatest performer ever is a fine line to walk, but it could *make* someone if done right.
ReplyDeleteHe was a goofy comedy act who was doing it when Austin was still around. Apples to bricks.
ReplyDeleteThey need to bring back Beniot's diving headbutt. They could call it the murder/suicide!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat? Too Soon?
Speaking of tag finishers, I always loved Power and Glory's Superplex/Splash combo. The decapitation elbow drop is awesome as well. Both would be great tag finishers for new teams.
ReplyDeleteZema Ion has been using that in TNA in his last few matches.
ReplyDeleteThe Scorpion Death Drop could be an awesome move if protected. I know Christian used it as a standard move for years, but it was over like crazy back when Sting first started doing it.
ReplyDeleteAlso kinda weird that nobody is doing a powerbomb as a finisher right now. You can't deny a good powerbomb.
I've seen Richie Steamboat throw a pretty good super kick. They should let him use it as a finish and call it the Steam Kick. Also, the Superfly Splash is overdue to be brought back.
ReplyDeleteTerrible, but funny.
ReplyDeletePower & Glory's finisher would have to be my all time favourite.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Syxx use the same move? The 'Buzz Killer'.
ReplyDeleteWasn't that chick Tamina using it? You know, the daughter of what's his name??
ReplyDeleteThat would actually be a good finisher for the Prime Time Players.
ReplyDeleteI have been a huge fan of the Suplex Powerslam for a long time. Even before Goldberg used it as his finisher.
ReplyDeleteOld school wise, I'd love to see the Heart Punch used again.
S.D. Jones?
ReplyDeleteI always liked the Boston Crab/Walls of Jericho. Very easy to do/teach; looks painful; looks great on TV; no real injury risk
ReplyDeleteWow Seanbaby. This has to be at least 15 years old. I'm impressed that it's still there.
ReplyDeleteI never loved Big Poochie, but I loved his jackknife powerbomb. You probably need a pretty big (tall) guy to make the move look impressive. I also loved Sid's powerbomb. Either of those. Maybe Titus O'Neil can use it when he eventually goes single. He has a cool air to his character a la Nash and Rock.
ReplyDeleteThe PowerPlex...you guys beat me to it. But it should go to the Uso's, since they already have the splash part down.
ReplyDeleteI agree bring back the perfect-plex except I would call it The Overdose.
ReplyDeleteQuite a bunch of good moves have been coming back...
ReplyDeleteThe Ascension is using Total Elimination.
Beth Pheonix has one of my all time favorites - the slingshot suplex, although it is just a normal move now...as it should be in this day and age.
Barrett and Abyss have modified the Bossman slam.
Think Randy Orton has been using the slingshot suplex as well.
ReplyDeleteAnd, IIRC, Disco's version sucked. A lot.
ReplyDeleteNah. Spike Piledriver FTW.
ReplyDeleteDon Muraco?
ReplyDeleteAgree with the posters below the Stunner is a bit too iconic nowadays, but what about a really good Rude Awakening? If done right, it can look just as good as a Stunner...check out the Widow's Peak.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see someone like Sin Cara bring back Ultimo Dragon's WWE finisher - the backflip inverted DDT.
For tag teams, how about the Beverly Bomb/Shaker Heights Spike? Similar to the 3D, but maybe update it with guy #2 doing an X-factor/Face crusher? This one looks particularly botched/brutal:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aPlfPbEh9w
The Tazzmission. Taz isn't coming back, someone needs to pull it out of mothballs.
ReplyDeleteSandow could use it! And insist on calling it by it's proper name. (Katahajime. Although I think I spelled it wrong.)
Too bad no one really talks about wrestling moves on WWE anymore, or at least by their real name. I think it would go great with Sandow's character to call moves by their original name in his promos. Kind of a variation of the Jericho promo from WCW about the thousand and one moves.
ReplyDeleteThe Brogue Kick is just a running version of Daniel LaRusso's finisher.
ReplyDelete(John Kreese would have made an awesome wrestling manager...)
If do right, no can defense!
ReplyDeleteGreco-Roman Fingerlock
ReplyDeleteThree words (or maybe four). Crossface chicken wing!!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's two words. I dunno. But its a fucking bad ass move.
ReplyDeleteI second the love for the piledriver, maybe even a nice jumping one, and a move that will never been seen on NA tv(for obvious and very good reasons), the Burning Hammer!
ReplyDeleteI've never got all the hate on Marcus Bagwell -- he's like Paul Roma to me -- not incredibly talented in the ring, but capable enough, with a few nicely executed moves (dropkick and Blockbuster respectively) and perfectly cast for the pretty-boy, heat machine heel role. Both of those guys seem to bring out a level of venom from people that doesn't seem quite justified IMO, there are plenty of less talented, less over people out there to disparage at every turn.
ReplyDeleteSilver Shadow
ReplyDeleteBrilliant.
ReplyDeleteCross. Face. Chick. En. Wing. That's five words, pal!
ReplyDeleteThe pile driver has enormous value now because it is a banned move. Anyone doing it would easily be able to get the move over precisely because it's not been seen for years.
ReplyDeleteIf you wanted to run an injury angle convincingly they could do worse than have someone be stretchered out of the arena after taking a pile driver,
I kinda liked how he did it most of the time actually, although I can think of a few times it looked a little goofy.
ReplyDeleteYou know whose move really sucked at first though, was DDPs Diamond Cutter. He'd hold the guys head forever, sort of the way Rude would when setting people up for his finisher, and not jump, but instead just come off of his feet with it. It got a lot more visually impressive when he's snap it off quickly and with a little height.
I love how Jake did it too, he gave it something extra that nobody else has. I liked how Raven did it too, straight on the top of the head. The way guys do it now looks lame though. I always thought Mick Foley's double arm DDT looked really bad too.
ReplyDeleteChyna?
ReplyDeleteCryme Tyme had a nice Samoan drop/neck breaker combo I liked as well.
ReplyDeleteSmoking Gunns's Sidewinder wasn't bad...was it the same as AMW's Death Sentence?
I think a lot of the hate stems from his obvious laziness in the ring - he was a decent worker when he started in WCW, but by the time he joined the "nWo", he seemed to just not give a shit anymore about putting on a good job.
ReplyDeleteStill, I was a total mark for his heel persona, probably my favorite "pretty-boy heel" ever, I can't think of a lot of people that were so natural at making you punch them in the face. The ridiculous air-brushed overalls and top-hat were fantastic.
Christian is using the frog splash, but it's not the same without Eddie. Although Kofi's Frog Crossbody is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteTyler Reks was using it before he quit, but that's about as close as you can get to being on NA TV but not REALLY being on NA TV...
ReplyDeleteMy favorite move ever - looks totally legit, safe to apply, and there's no real way out of it.
ReplyDeletePlus, Saturn was a friggin' BEAST.
I was really hoping that Punk would piledrive Lawler on the belt after their cage match, while shouting "Best in the world!" as Cena looked on helplessly.
ReplyDeleteThe "no way out" is a problem, though. If you can't reverse/escape a finisher, it kills the drama.
ReplyDeleteBryan won the RoH World Title with it.
ReplyDeleteHe already has that one ridiculous Latin name for his spinning elbowdrop, so maybe it works better for Sandow to have these really elaborate, pompous-sounding names for simple moves.
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of any man, president, or oversized feline that wears a top hat.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoyed the Orient Express' old tandem finisher of Tanaka superkicking the guy and Sato took him over and pinned him with a German suplex, all in one fluid motion.
ReplyDeleteLOL, yes the top-hat! Yeah, his efforts certainly went down during the NWO era, although he was never really effective at doing more than pretty basic stuff anyway, although he certainly had more of an aerial game during his early days.
ReplyDeleteI liked his little monologues with the camera during the matches also, which were often interrupted by someone sneaking up behind him, usually resulting in him making a pretty hilarious expression.
Yes, one of my all-time favorites as well. See Paul Roma has two good moves.
ReplyDeleteAlways liked that name "Shaker Heights Spike"
ReplyDeleteYeah, that was a sick move, I remember Dean Malenko/Chris Benoit doing a variation on that once when they tagged up against Regal/Eaton that was bad-ass too.
ReplyDeleteHis laziness is why I hated him. That and the fact that he wasn't that good to begin with. I REALLY hated the American Males, especially their shitty entrance music.
ReplyDeleteI don't think anyone has ever spelled it right.
ReplyDeleteWell, most guys need a little practice on their finishers before it really looks right. For example, look at the awful Stunner Austin hit on Jake Roberts at KOTR 96. I think it was only the 2nd or 3rd time he did it, and it shows.
ReplyDeleteI've always been a sucker for Kanyon's Flatliner
ReplyDeleteCubito Aequet.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. *cue hallelujah chorus*
Me too, especially since I grew up about 20 minutes away from Shaker Heights!
ReplyDeleteThe move sucked, but I loved the story with Disco learning the standing reverse figure four from his mafia relative. He had this horrible drawing of how to lock it on...looked like a second grader drew it, had arrows showing the directions and the opponent frowning. I think Santino did something similar on the house show circuit when "learning" the Cobra, didn't he?
ReplyDeleteCryme Tyme's finisher = The G9. (Still don't know what that means.)
ReplyDeleteAnd the Gunns' Sidewinder was a side suplex/top rope legdrop combo.
AMW's Death Sentence = Midnight Express' Veg-O-Matic.
Talking directly to the camera is definitely something that needs to return to wrestling.
ReplyDeleteHell, Martin Kove is a better talker than most of the WWE roster and he's not doing anything right now, maybe WWE should just shitcan AJ and Booker T and make him the GM of both shows, can't be any worse than Mike Adamle and he would probably cost less than Adamle too.
ReplyDeleteGreat choices all, but let's hope no one brings back the Natural Disaster.
ReplyDeleteThat move was too complicated, took way too long to set up and was botched more often than not.
Simon & Swinger's Problem Solver also known as MNM's Snapshot is a sweet finisher that hasn't been used in over five years, it's overdue for a return.
Didn't HHH or Vince or someone bitch him out during his brief WWE run because he absolutely refused to take the top-hat off?
ReplyDeleteLayla's finisher is basically the Rude Awakening.
ReplyDeletewhat? thats the best part about them.
ReplyDeletebtw: the fact that Orton has never (at least to my knowledge) pinned anyone after the second rope ddt is ridiculous.
ReplyDelete(that is also one of the things I would change if I was in charge. how can I take the nearfalls after moves like that seriously if the guy doing it has NEVER beaten anybody with it?)
360° backbreaker!
ReplyDeleteAh, so it is. Nice catch.
ReplyDeleteThat said, my comment still stands, I'd like a *really good* Rude Awakening. ;-)
- The POWERBOMB
ReplyDelete- For a tag team the Superplex / Splash off the top rope combo ala Power and Glory.
'
ReplyDelete''Resurrecting Finishers''
Well that DDT on the concrete refreshed Cena at last year's Summerslam, if that's what you mean. The Revving Elbow helped too.
Roma never got anywhere near the push Bagwell did. And we never had Roma's mom as tag-team champ or a Ma Roma on a pole match.
ReplyDeleteyou sir are correct during the cruiserweight bully run
ReplyDeleteummm
ReplyDeletearies uses the brainbuster
rvd uses the frog splash
sheamus uses the razors edge.
terrible. micks ddt lacked any oomph
ReplyDeleteha. I grew up literally 2 minutes from the cleveland/shaker hts border
ReplyDeleteHARVARD AVENUE!!!
the synchronized overhead hand clap was the best part about that entrance.
ReplyDeleteThe World's Greatest Tag-Team did that a few times too.
ReplyDeleteSO YOU DONT LIKE PEANUTS!?!
ReplyDeleteScott WE NEED THE BAN HAMMER!!! He is a peanutist...
Didn't SCSA rip off the Stunner from Disco Inferno's Chartbuster???
ReplyDeleteIsn't Tyson Kidd using the Blockbuster as his finisher now? Also, R-Truth should use his Suplex Stunner as a finisher (Osaka Street Cutter I think is the official name?), as it's way better looking than the What's Up and actually looks like it hurts his opponent more than him.
ReplyDeleteAs for tag team moves, the Faces of Fear once did a backdrop into a powerbomb. That would be all kinds of badass for a tag team finisher, but not sure anyone could pull it off regularly without Botchamania ensuing.
Johnny Ace and Whipwreck, I believe.
ReplyDeleteRek's Burning Hammer wasn't a very good one though...
ReplyDeleteI don't know, Eddie isn't tall, and I thought he killed Rey with his powerbomb, as long as your not smaller than your opponent you can pull it of effectively-It's just easy if your Nash/Sid tall because it looks devastating with less effort, whereas a guy like Eddie has to just spike the poor bastard taking the move (all of this is of course my opinion)
ReplyDeleteThe Shock Master?
ReplyDeleteI've seen guy's get out of the move on the indys, it just takes some creativity and/or a long shimmy to the bottom rope
ReplyDeleteI don't watch TNA. And does Sheamus ever actually finish with it? Seems like he only uses the Brogue Kick anymore.
ReplyDeleteOh,but powerbombs hurt too much. The superstars are made of glass, after all.
ReplyDeleteA winner is you!
ReplyDeletePeople still popped for it.
ReplyDeleteOne of the things I really was liking about Sheamus was how he was using multiple finishes for awhile: the Celtic Cross (or whatever he was calling his version of the Edge, I think that was it), White Noise (the modified Samoan drop thingy), the Brogue Kick and he was even starting to use the Texas Cloverleaf in recent weeks.
ReplyDeleteI wish they'd gone through with the storyline of the Brogue Kick being banned for awhile to get Sheamus over as a guy who can beat you any way he wants.
Well, by wrestling physics, with the double-arm DDT you're totally unprotected because you don't have a free arm to brace yourself.
ReplyDeleteI'll show myself out.
you dont watch tna?
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3VtzMxmPs0
We need Van Hammer? What good did he ever do anybody?
ReplyDeleteHas he ever tried to pin anybody after the second rope DDT?
ReplyDeleteIt's like Hogan's big boot to the head. He always did the legdrop afterwards, but the guy was just laying there for at least five seconds before he hit it, so the boot alone should have been enough to get the pin.
Theoretically those transition moves should be weakening the opponent so that they're more susceptible to a wrestler's finisher. I believe that's the original intent of the five moves of doom sequences. Sadly, now most guys just use random moves with no real connection.
ReplyDeleteEspecially since Jericho has been using the real walls more often lately. Opens the door for someone to take back the Boston Crab.
ReplyDeleteYup, Kidd does the Blockbuster now. Decent finisher for him.
ReplyDeleteI think Sandow is my main candidate for bringing back the Perfectplex.
Seriously, though, DBryan has used it a bit.
ReplyDeleteI like how he does it too, with the one arm tucked in like a hammerlock.
ReplyDeletePTPs do the Decapitation.
ReplyDeleteBrock Lock
ReplyDeleteStump Puller
TOTAL ELIMINATION (with a supposed impending rise of tag teams this had damn well better reappear)
They had an awesome name for it too: The Star Spangled Blaster.
ReplyDeleteBenoit used to do a version when teaming with Pillman in the Horsemen that was a dropkick/dragon suplex combo.
ReplyDeleteVery briefly, like maybe only once, Smoking Gunns did a similar move to that but ended it in a piledriver. That just sounds like botch city to me but it was cool.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see one of the bigger guys bust out Rick Steiner's old top rope diving bulldog. Simple enough move and always looked impressive when you'd have Rick's whole body weight behind you.
ReplyDeleteSomeone could also make a good finish out of a real jackknife powerbomb. Not the Kevin Nash move, but the one where you sink the powerbomb and roll through for the pin. There aren't enough "straight into a pin" finishers these days.
For tag teams, even though the Headbangers are doing it in ROH again, their old Stage Dive finisher was a good one that a high flyer team could use. (A powerbomb/guillotine leg drop combo)
Though I'd bet that John Cena would take the first piledriver seen on WWE TV in years, only to promptly pop back up, grin, hit an AA, and talk some baby-talk about how "piledrivers are like Cancer...they can't c me!" while 90% of the crowd boos.
ReplyDeleteBut yeah, if they didn't do that, the piledriver would be awesome.
Mama Roma is fun to say though.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed a spot they'd do in a match where Kato would slingshot a guy into Tanaka's chop. That could be modified a bit.
ReplyDeleteyeah! Break Bagwell's neck AGAIN
ReplyDeleteHe tried to sell my brother in law hurricane windows in Florida...
ReplyDeletewell,it depends on how you look at good. It was sustainable as a move, if just a flipped over FU.
ReplyDeleteBig fan of Buff Bagwell. He was fine in the ring until the neck injury, and damn if that dude didn't GET being a heel -- talking to the camera, constantly doing the little things in matches, etc. Loves his showboating and commitment to the character.
ReplyDeleteThe Razor's Edge. One of the most impressive looking moves in wrestling, for my money. Feels like Sheamus hasn't used it in a year.
ReplyDeleteI think Lance Storm said that move is incredibly dangerous to take.
ReplyDeleteAlex "The Pug" Porteau?
ReplyDelete(Any time I can bust that name out...)
Eddie's powerbomb was a thing of beauty. On one of the first episodes of Nitro, he absolutely drills Benoit with it. With all the concussion worry these days, I don't see anyone pulling the move off like that again (which is probably a good thing).
ReplyDeleteLou Thesz?
ReplyDeleteThat would require Sheamus having the personality and charisma to get over. He seriously lacks both.
ReplyDeleteHaha
ReplyDeleteI seem to recall Raven/Kanyon using this as a tandem finisher once and almost breaking the neck of one of the Villanos.
ReplyDeletePolish Hammer!
ReplyDeleteI never liked it much personally. In part because it takes so long to setup, and it's not very realistic if the guy taking the move is a lot bigger. I personally like moves that can be hit quickly.
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm pretty sure Austin did it before Disco, but I think other guys used it before Austin.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't their fault though. There was a trap door installed in the mat for one of Warriors' stupid entrances later on and apparently the WCW brain trust didn't tell people about it. Raven/Kanyon did the move and VIllano took the bump on the trap door messing up his neck. Same thing happened to Davey Boy. He took a bump on the trap door which messed up his back badly.
ReplyDeleteAscension are using Total Elimination in NXT.
ReplyDeleteAwesome. That instantly makes NXT 3.7% better.
ReplyDeletestage dive was awesome whenever they won
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see the vertebreaker again. But that's probably one of those "Never in NA" moves.
ReplyDeleteI kinda remember this one...I think it was actually a powerbomb into a neckbreaker so it's a little different. And it wasn't just the trapdoor, pretty sure he legit landed on his head because they mistimed it.
ReplyDeleteMichael McGillicutty uses the Perfectplex every now and then...except it rarely ends the match.
ReplyDeletePearl River Plunge; Steinerline; Spinning (Patera) Full Nelson; British Bulldog Powerslam; Senton Bomb; Rings of Saturn; Celtic Knot (with Finlay kicks to face); Bodyscissor; Tazmission.
ReplyDeleteI remember that. It looked terrible.
ReplyDeleteHate the idea of resurrecting the Stunner as a finisher. I know he has been retired for over 10 years, but Austin regularly appears, usually delivering Stunners; also DVDs keep it fresh in viewers' minds. The 7 year rule applied in the pre-24/7 coverage days, not now.
ReplyDeleteAs for resurrected moves, I'm a mark for the DDT and would love to see someone use it as their finisher (not a variation, but a straight DDT). I agree with the Total Elimination for a tag team, and I'm hoping that the Ascension is brought to the main roster so I can see it regularly.
His backbreaker could be a legit finisher too.
ReplyDeleteI thought Tyson's finisher was the inverted lateral press.
ReplyDeleteThe Moss Covered, Three Handled Family Gredunza
ReplyDeletePistol Pez Whatley?
ReplyDeleteThe Human Torture Rack!
ReplyDeleteCena also uses a (really loose) fisherman's suplex.
ReplyDeleteMaybe G9 is referring to being being 1 better than the G8 riots... I don't even remember Cryme Time.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I've never had a problem with the five moves from a psychological stand-point, you weaken/get a guy off-balance enough and then you finish them with something that requires a little set-up.
ReplyDeleteSheamus was doing it for awhile. I'm happy he's using the Kryptonite Krunch (White Noise) as a finisher,
ReplyDeleteRaven/Kanyon did a powerbomb/neckbreaker combo onto the trap door.
ReplyDeleteI remember when Manny Fernandez and Rick Rude were NWA tag champs and they did a move where Manny threw Ricky Morton to the ropes, picked him in the air like he was going to give him a back bodydrop but Rick Rude grabbed him in mid-flight and DDT'd him. I legit thought he killed him.
You're talking about a Kawada Bomb.
ReplyDeleteI grew up on E. 185th St on the east side of Cleveland. Couldn't have been too far from you guys.
ReplyDeleteThe "really loose" pretty much describes his whole move-set. The start with the intentionality of a specific move, and end with him just launching the guy.
ReplyDeleteI really don't think the Stunner can ever be brought back. That move is definitely Austin's, now and forever. 50 years from now, someone can pull it out and it'll likely still be remembered as Austin's move. He was just too big a star and that move is just too legendary and recognizably "his."
ReplyDeleteCaptain Lou Albano?
ReplyDeleteStump Puller?
ReplyDeleteOne leg inverted Boston Crab. Kinda weird that it ends up with the back of one guy's head pressed up agains the other guy's junk but it looks painful and is a good visual otherwise.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fayD-8G4ToY
His blue thunder bomb is atrocious, same with his emerald flowsion.
ReplyDeleteCryme Tyme were two stereotypical NY gangbangers played as faces. One of them (JTG) is still collecting McMahon money, the other (Shad Gaspard) quit or got fired a long while back.
ReplyDeleteWikipedia has several definitions for G9; the only one that'd fit CT would be "debut album of Gloc-9"; some Filipino rapper.
Yeah, Gloc-9 (either the rapper or the gun) makes a lot more sense.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking as someone that's done some horsing around with friends and had this put on them: This move HURTS. (Course, my friend was actually sitting on my shoulder when he did it, and I think that's wrong.)
ReplyDeleteI seem to remember Terry Funk talking about how effective a finisher this was. Not for any kayfabe reason, but because the ever increasing likelihood that the guy putting you in the move would pitch a tent.
ReplyDeleteGuys tended to submit quickly, which made you look like a badass.
yes, he has. actually, he goes for the pin at lot of times after he used the move. which makes it even more stupid, stupid, stupid.
ReplyDelete
