  1. I just picked up the double feature bluray with both of these. I haven't seen either since their initial release. I enjoyed them when they came out, but Zombie's a one trick pony. Very white-trash, his dialog is terrible. Devils Rejects is the better off the two but 1000 Corpses seems like a parody of horror moves - unless that's what he was going for.

I'm not a prude, I love horror movies, violence doesn't bother me but I'm more into the classics.

  3. One of my all time favorite horror films. It turns everything on its head, with the killers being hunted and ending up more sympathetic than the man seeking his revenge, and all the homages to other horror films and the B-movie actors and character actors all getting their star turns. Plus I just love the southern-Gothic 70s style redneck vibe. It's not a masterful film by any means but it wins all its points on atmosphere. Plus it earns points for being a creepy horror movie that takes place mostly in broad daylight.

  6. are even full genres based more around the killers than the victims? (for example: the slasher genre)

  7. Yeah but in this case they're the protagonists of the story, whereas even in slasher movies where the killers are the main focus they're generally still a problem that needs to be dealt with.
