Christmas in Wrestling

Hi Scott,
As the Christmas Season is getting close, a quick question for you and the BoD, of all the Christmas themed shows, wrestlers, matches and moments we've had through the years. Which were you favourites?

Personally i always love the WWE's backstage Christmas Parties, paticularly the 2001 one where they had 2 parties a face & a heel one.

The only ones that even come to mind for me are Shawn Michaels laying down for HHH in 97 to give him the European title, and then Steve Austin beating up Santa Claus in 98.

  1. This isn't Christmas, but rather Thanksgiving. Luther Reigns saying "Lemme get some of those peas, I've had peas b'fo."

  2. Bret Hart celebrating with Santa at the end of Survivor Series '92 was always a nice memory for me when I was a little mark kid and loving wrestling.

    Sniff. Simpler times...

  4. Not that I was around for it(I would have been three or four at the time), but didn't the freebirds slam the cage door unto kerry's face on Christmas?

  5. Shawn like he was dead while HHH did the Ultimate Warrior run off the ropes thing 20 times was incredible. My favorite Christmas episode ever.

  6. I don't recall that HBK/HHH moment. After all, no big star ever laid down for HHH, right?

  7. That was it. What a beautifully structured angle.

  8. Stone Cold in Santa disguise giving Cena a stunner at the first Tribute to the Troops

  9. Aw man, the 2001 Christmas party was hilarious, mainly for Patterson and Briscoe dressed as elves.

  10. I'm with you on the DX European tittle gift, Hilarious

  11. Kane's former life as an evil christmas tree. Does that count?

  12. Xanta Claus, anybody?

  13. I remember one year they did a Bubba Claus vs. Tajiri Claus match. That was fun.

  14. They just replayed that entire 2001 Christmas party, complete with Tajiri Claus versus Bubba Claus, on Classics on Demand, and it's still great 10 years later.

And of course there was the bad like Xanta Klaus and The Christmas Creature.

  15. Ahem. "Holidays in Sports Entertainment", thank you very much.

  16. And a year later you had the banned Michael Hayes returning to attack the Von Erichs disguised as Santa Claus (though the angle was better in theory than in actual execution).

  17. Santa at the end of Series 1993, because it was November.

  18. Did he do 1993 too? I remember 1992 with Bret after his match with Shawn. Plus it was snowing in the arena.

  19. Oh geez, I remember them talking about him non-stop on the Christmas weekend Superstars of Wrestling.

  20. Stevie Richard super-kicking Santa because he didn't get him that bike when he was 9 is a personal favorite.
