We've made it to the Road to Wrestlemania!
Get your sign-pointing hand ready, sit back and enjoy a few weeks of quite possibly decent RAWs.
Not going to say much I didn't say in the forums. I liked the ADR-Big Show match, love the fact that a babyface ADR isn't a moron. Liked the Rumble match because Dolph and Jericho were all-world pace setters and the final six action was good stuff. With Cena, Ryback and Sheamus in the final three I thought that was an optimal place for a Shield run-in, if just to extend the segment by having a crazy brawl that either eliminated a guy or laid them all out.
The title match, eh styles make fights and I'm rarely one to say one guy succeed and the other guy failed. It's a dance, both partners have to execute for it to work. Punk and Rock had a disjointed dance that looked like it could recover but there was a table breaking unexpectedly and a ill-timed run-in that stopped it. I expected more, I hope they do it again next month to be honest.
So come out swinging and keep it clean.

Hi.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping Punk shows proof it wasn't Shield and gets the title back and then jobs the title again to Rock at Elimination Chamber. C'mon WWE, dig yourselves a bigger hole!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, the Rock/Punk left much to be desired, and knowing the two personalities involved, I would find it HIGHLY unlikely if they don't try to better themselves via a rematch in the very near future.
ReplyDeletebut fans took photos and it was the shield!
ReplyDeleterabble rabble
I am trying to understand how the Peoples elbow was the finisher for 5-7 years, but last night it was the Anti-Christ itself.
ReplyDeleteAfter a 2nd viewing, I like Punk/Rock a little better. Not ****, but def. better than I thought after the first time. Still think it should have been a clean finish. And I think Rock could stand to lose about 15 pounds. Seemed a little bulky and definitely blew himself up. I think being a little leaner and more explosive would be good for him.
ReplyDeleteyeah. 2003 Hollywood Rock-sized suits him better.
ReplyDeleteI woke up optimistic. At least Cena/Rock II is better than Cena beating Rock at EC then unifyithaca the titles at WM.
ReplyDeleteAfter sleeping on it, I'm a little more optimistic about Rock/Cena II because their first match was better than Rock/Punk and I doubt they will regress too much.
ReplyDeleteThe main reason I'm so apathetic about Rock/Cena 2 is the build. I'm sure the match will be great but I'm expected nothing but shitty rap battles and Rock concerts for the build. If the build is good, I'll change my tune in a hurry.
ReplyDeleteThe gimmick too.
ReplyDeleteOddly enough after seeing Rock/Punk I'm convinced Rock/Cena II will probably be a better match. If only Rock and Cena's build could be better.
ReplyDeleteMore importantly, where the HELL is Mark Henry, goddammit
ReplyDeleteRock comes out, gets the crowd fired up. Cena then comes out with the poop jokes and kills the crowd dead. It's Wrestlemania baby!
ReplyDeleteNeeds more meaningful sign staring and pointing...
ReplyDeletevomit
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I forgot it was Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal night on RAW. Should be fun!
ReplyDeleteVickie looks cute.
ReplyDeleteyep.
ReplyDeleteBlog's reaction to Rock winning - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xg0uEVzknxE
ReplyDeleteGod, this wheel sucks.
ReplyDeleteKevin Steen's reaction to Rock winning
ReplyDeleteFTFY
Punk mad! Punk Smash!
ReplyDeleteSmirking John Cena - Now, Then, Forever.....and ever and ever and ever
ReplyDeleteIt's refreshing to see a wrestler come out for a promo not in trunks.
ReplyDeleteCan't argue with that logic. Long live Punk's reign!!
ReplyDeleteHey, someone's actually angry about losing and ISN'T smirking about it? What a concept.
ReplyDeleteNice pop when Punk's music hit...
ReplyDeleteThis is really great.
ReplyDeleteif you read my diary from my teenage years, you'd see that I've always hated it.

"Dear diary. Today sucked because Corrinne got a new boyfriend that isn't me. Why doesn't she like-like me, Kevin Arnold/Winnie Cooper-style? She thinks I'm funny, we're smart, we are in all the same classes, what's not to like?
By the way, God, the People's Elbow is the worst finisher of all time. It's worse than the Fame-asser. Talk to you tomorrow, diary."
This rules.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome way to start...
ReplyDeleteI don't really like face Vince McMahon.
ReplyDeleteSTOP SNITCHING!
ReplyDeleteI forgot that part.
ReplyDeleteI don't like where the "review" is going, however.
ReplyDeleteSo that's how they write Heyman out.
ReplyDeleteWhy would you write Heyman out?
ReplyDeleteVince fires Heyman. He returns a few weeks later with Brock Lesnar for revenge. HHH to the rescue. Sound about right?
ReplyDeleteI know I said I was not going to watch anymore...sigh...I can't overcome my addiction. As dirty as I feel, turning it on. Looks like I missed a Punk promo...how was it?
ReplyDeleteI think CM Punk needs to bulk up, my God has he been in a gym the last year?
ReplyDeleteJBL looks like a blueberry. Why would you let him walk out there in that awful suit?
ReplyDeleteTocuh of stomping and screaming.
ReplyDeleteyeah, he just sticks with 15s and does a shit-ton of cardio.
ReplyDeleteStupid but yes. It still doesn't make a lick of sense since Heyman is representing/managing talent in the kayfabe world and not an employee.
ReplyDeleteWas anyone else hoping for a Cole beatdown?
ReplyDeleteHeels doing heel stuff. No problems there.
ReplyDeleteWhats up with Orton's 1997 white guy fade haircut.
ReplyDeleteit confuses me.
ReplyDeleteRKO OUTTA NOWHERE! /spoiler
ReplyDeleteIsn't Heyman an official representative of Lesnar and, later, Punk? Isn't he their employee? How can Vince fire him?
ReplyDeleteremember when Vince told him in the ring to grow it back out? ha
ReplyDeleteOh no. OH NO.
ReplyDeleteDAMMIT, CULT!
ReplyDeleteWait... how?
ReplyDeleteat times I really hate the "mystery" direction WWE creative writes because the payoff is almost always a giant groan, but then again it could be an A&8's long drawn out bullshit.
ReplyDeleteUgh. This feud isn't gonna end I guess.
ReplyDeleteThe Miz is a guy.
ReplyDeleteodds that they're still standing in the ring when we return from break?
ReplyDeleteDon't ask, don't tell.
ReplyDeleteDebatable.
ReplyDeleteHey, remember when Cesaro beat Miz clean last night? The writers apparently don't.
ReplyDeleteAnd I was actually looking forward to this match before that.
ReplyDeleteA8's and Shield, not that different. Sorry I don't have an internet hard on for Dean Ambrose.
ReplyDeleteIs Vickie a face or a heel? This like Stephanie 2002-03 all over again.
ReplyDeleteI do believe the Miz was Faith Hilling as he walked out
ReplyDeleteYou still got it. clap, clap, clap clap clap
ReplyDeleteStephanie had better cans.
ReplyDeleteI never lost it baby!
ReplyDeleteJust waiting for the Jericho comeback... and there it is.
ReplyDeletedebatable.
ReplyDeleteLet me take a wild guess and say that I'm going to be REALLY sick of "This Is How We Do It" by the end of the night.
ReplyDeleteSign me up for Jericho/Cesaro at WM.
ReplyDeleteGod, I was tired of it in 1995.
ReplyDeleteby the way, cool handle. I'm currently in the process of replacing the power supply on my SNES. it involves soldering & de-soldering, neither of which I've ever tried. Should be fun!
/insert immaculate penmanship [here]
ReplyDeleteCo-sign.
ReplyDeleteI predict a future where entire matches take place during the commercial break. Because, STORIES!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they will blur out all the Twitter stuff from replays 5 years from now.
ReplyDeleteRead that Jericho was going to feud with Ziggler until EC, turn heel, and put over Ryback at WM. I like your idea much better. Which is why it won't happen.
ReplyDeleteDoes Orton want his third strike? The dude looks like he's getting much bigger very quickly here.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm guessing finds out Heyman was in collusion with The Shield behind his back, Punk fires him, Heyman brings Brock back to teach that ingrate Punk a lesson. Mania babay.
ReplyDeleteOrton is gonna shit in Lawler's crown after the show for saying he stole Cesaro's Euro uppercuts.
ReplyDeletemy understanding is he's about to take time off, anyway.
ReplyDeleteLooks like he's been trainin' with Duane...
ReplyDeletehopefully it's not burnt-in like the scratch logo
ReplyDelete100 bucks Maddox is Vince's snitch.
ReplyDeleteYOU DON'T UPPERCUT ANTONIO CESARO!
ReplyDeleteMaybe some day Batista will run in during a Randy Orton match and then I will care about a Randy Orton match.
ReplyDeleteOrton/Cesaro again? Really?
ReplyDeleteYeah, this sounds about right.
ReplyDeleteYou win.
ReplyDeleteHonestly Orton looks like he just doesn't give a shit anymore. Seems like he wants to spend more and more time with his family and he doesn't seem to be overly stupid with his money.
ReplyDeletePeople joke about how old WWE talent goes to TNA, but I think it would be a good fit for Orton. Less time on the road, less travel, lighter schedule, little edgier. I think TNA would work for Orton at this stage.
If that means HHH/Lesnar is a no go, sign me up!
ReplyDeleteGood gawd, it makes sense. You know what doesn't though? Maddox as a face. Or Maddox on TV.
ReplyDeleteBut that makes too much sense for them!
ReplyDeleteRemember when Vickie being Managing Supervisor was only supposed to be temporary?
ReplyDeleteAnd it means Punk/Brock. Double awesome. But I think were going Trips Lesnar II.
ReplyDeleteWrestlemania 29. THE SEQUEL.
ReplyDeleteWhy would they make Cena champion again? I don't understand this stuff.
ReplyDeleteAlso, doesn't Maddox always have a camera around him? That's where the proof is probably. And the Mad Ox is awesome, so I hope this gets him on tv full time.
ReplyDelete100% agree.
ReplyDeleteI thought Heyman was hired by Brock/Punk. By what right does Vince McMahon have to terminate him?
ReplyDeleteHe talked about it on his DVD, how everyone told him to get bigger (which he was)... and he likes where he's at now much better.
ReplyDeleteThe Shield aren't filled up exclusively with jobbers and WWE castoffs.
ReplyDeleteHe has no reason to. He's been pushed constantly for nearly eight years. Like Cena, he has nothing left to accomplish in pro wrestling. I wish both of them would take about three years off.
ReplyDeleteIt falls under the BECAUSE FUCK YOU, THAT'S WHY clause.
ReplyDeleteI've been calling Orton to TNA for a year now. Think it would benefit both parties.
ReplyDeleteWell, then you get into the question of "Why does Vince McMahon have any power at all after the Board removed him?" and that's when things get messy.
ReplyDeleteIn the perfect world of continuity, Punk would be in the back destroying the 3 wheels.
ReplyDeleteHow badly must people from Vegas want to see a regular wrestling show?
ReplyDeleteGood call.
ReplyDeleteAs a Republican, Vince should be ashamed of himself for coming between a business man and his independent contractor. Why, next he's going to say Punk should provide Paul with health insurance!
ReplyDeleteFrom a kayfabe perspective, do managers / agents even work for WWE? It seems like Vince shouldn't have power over Heyman.
ReplyDeleteThat was so yesterday.
ReplyDeleteRevoke his manager's license?
ReplyDeleteWe are all confused about this one, but it doesn't matter to Vince.
ReplyDeleteI want to see an airplane spin.
ReplyDeleteThat would require them to use the word "manager" on television.
ReplyDeleteMiz is not a celebrity; Miz is like that girl who swallowed her own tampon. That's his relevancy in the grand scheme of mainstream celebrity.
ReplyDeleteIt's like WWE is a dream. Things move fast and furious, and the facts of six months ago, or even six minutes ago, are meaningless in the here and now.
ReplyDeleteCesaro used to use a UFO... a no handed airplane spin. He also did the giant swing, which was awesome.
ReplyDeleteThey won't even revoke Maddox's referee's license after he blatantly interfered in a world title match. What makes you think they'd do anything like that?
ReplyDeleteI am still waiting to see how he got his power back after HHH fired him.
ReplyDelete....And the hanging briefcase.
He's not Punk's manager.
ReplyDeleteI always get the giant swing and airplane spin confused.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed he bust out a Karelin Lift... I normally only see that mess in Fire Pro.
ReplyDeleteThen he has no right to be at ringside!
ReplyDeleteWould be a lot cooler if Cesaro just jacked Miz instead of the RKO "From outta nowhere"
ReplyDeleteTHIS FEUD MUST CONTINUE.
ReplyDeleteBOTH OF THEM.
Why not just give Miz a RKO, too? That's what a real Viper would do.
ReplyDeleteLame.
ReplyDeleteIt would be fun if it were truly random.
ReplyDeleteNext up: Alicia Fox vs Curt Hawkins in a Tables match!
Las Vegas screw job.
ReplyDeleteKale is like a superfood or whatever.
ReplyDeleteDirty communist.
ReplyDeleteThere's the babyface, folks!
ReplyDeleteGoddamn these faces
ReplyDeleteNew senior official Mike Mizanin?
ReplyDeleteAlberto Del Rio's face turn >>>>>>>>>>> Miz's face turn.
ReplyDeleteCole is somehow more infuriating as a "normal" commentator than as a heel.
ReplyDeleteGod I hate Miz.
ReplyDeleteCan't be any worse than a Hebner.
ReplyDeleteCrowd dead for Miz's SCF on Cesaro.
ReplyDeleteRyback's gotta make us laugh? Maybe he's going to try to cut a promo, cause his are laughable.
If this segment is Ryback standing in front of a brick wall trying to tell jokes, it's a win!
ReplyDelete"What's the deal with airline peanuts?"
Merch will be safer.
ReplyDeleteThat's the joke.
ReplyDeleteFresh matchups vs. Aries, Roode, Storm, Daniels etc. Plus I really think the whole being at home more would seal the deal.
ReplyDeleteNo more callers.
ReplyDeleteAh, Ryback just reminded me: can't wait until he gets his clean win over Punk now that he's dropped the belt.
ReplyDeleteRyback doing comedy should be about as smart as Goldberg wearing the wig from Goldust.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't they just make the entire airplane out of the peanuts?
ReplyDeleteWait, wrong joke... I'll be back with the right punchline.
And I think he would do better in a non PG environment.
ReplyDeleteThat loser should marry the girl that wants the CM Punk shirt off his back.
ReplyDeleteBut wouldn't a third strike result in a lifetime ban from WWE?
ReplyDeleteI would think that he wouldn't want to write off those fat Wrestlemania paychecks later in life...
I actually remember the 80s game show based on this. They had like....90 seconds.
ReplyDeleteYes, we gotta Gorilla-Heenan argument going here. Keep it going.
ReplyDeleteIf the snitch is GTV or Just Joe, I'll applaud.
ReplyDeleteRyback doing standup at 8:30.
ReplyDeleteProof that MNF is clearly over.
Did they ever explain GTV?
ReplyDeletethose would make even the most mundane matches so much fun to watch. They don't have teams like that anymore! I can watch any WWF PPV with any combo of Monsoon/Heenan/Ventura/Vince (yeah, I said it) and enjoy the show.
ReplyDeleteI don't really like Vince as a character anymore.
ReplyDeleteOUCH. Sorry Steffi.
ReplyDeleteSteffi Graf -- HUGE wrestling fan.
ReplyDeleteIf moving at the speed of light negates time that means a photon leaves it's source and hits it's destination on opposite sides of the universe at the same moment.
ReplyDelete"Goldberg, RVD, and Skip Sheffield walk into a bar..."
ReplyDeleteAgassi's one of the coolest celebs they've had in the crowd in a long time... but I'm a tennis geek, too
ReplyDeleteAin't nobody got time for this.
ReplyDeletesome DVD release description translated it to Goldust TV, at least.
ReplyDelete25 minutes until The Following.... just saying.
ReplyDeleteIIRC they revealed Gene Oakerland was behind it; apparently he got tired of WCW back in 1999 and started stalking the WWE guys and video taping them as a means to keep his sanity
ReplyDelete85 here on the West Coast. Fuck.
ReplyDeleteI think Titus is legitimately surprised that they actually boo'd them...
ReplyDeleteHICKORY DICKORY DOCK.......
ReplyDeleteThey should have made a Kobe Bryant rape joke.
ReplyDeleteHow many amazing versions of this team have to get over?
ReplyDeleteJust reading this thread and results on 411(forgive me) is not convincing me to watch this show later tonight.
ReplyDeleteRyback's joke wasn't very funny...
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like more work than actually watching the show.
ReplyDeleteSince they're in Vegas, Ryback should have done like Carrot Top and resorted to some prop comedy.
ReplyDeletesome great tennis last week. the Federer/Tsonga & Federer/Murray matches were fantastic.
ReplyDeleteLike how rape, like John Cena, is inevitable and you have no option but to lay back and enjoy it/Cena?
ReplyDeleteWell I'm on the west coast so it isn't on for another 3 hours.
ReplyDeleteWAIT... we didn't hear Cole snicker into his microphone... it wasn't funny
ReplyDeleteGo away, Matt Striker, with your horrible, HORRIBLE fake laugh.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU RYBACK!
Heard it is terrible.
ReplyDeleteMy bad. Yeah, this is.....something.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that why Striker was there?
ReplyDeleteRyback just told his best joke! The punchline is, "Be A Star!"
ReplyDeleteSHUT YOUR WHORE MOUTH
ReplyDeleteHold on, did Ryback actually tell a joke?
ReplyDeleteDo you live in Asia, too?
ReplyDeletemy parents found it interesting, anyway. my dad has pretty good taste.
ReplyDeletemaybe he was just being nice by saying that for the benefit of my mother. i haven't seen it.
I'm surprised Carrot Top was never a guest host/social media ambassador/guest GM/ on Raw
ReplyDeleteJust Joe is current Do Or Die Wrestling International Champion (based in Poland).
ReplyDeleteNo, I live in California.
ReplyDeleteBest promo in history finally in the HoF.
ReplyDeleteCue everyone bitching about Ryback taking out an announcer and conveniently forgetting Steve Austin did the same thing for years.
ReplyDeleteWhere can I find one of those Backlund/Flair matches?
ReplyDeleteI'll be back out there in a few months, it looks like. Spent 18 months in the L.A. area and loved it.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who would buy a Backlund DVD?
ReplyDelete
