From Wrestlefest 88, one of those “lost” supercards that doesn’t really get much love in the DVD era either. I wouldn’t really call it a “great” match as such, but I liked it well enough and this was the Demos at the height of their powers as heels, fo shizzle.
Feel free to keep sending interesting Youtube links, everyone.
Jesus, that fucking announce team is awful. Decent enough match though
ReplyDeleteI was there! Great show, and I still have no idea why they booked Milwaukee County Stadium for the venue, but I'm glad they did. And Wifflebat, you may not like the announce team now, but you haven't lived until you've heard Lord Al Hayes do Hacksaw Duggan's "Hooooooo!," which he does in the Duggan-Honky Tonk Man match on this show.
ReplyDeleteYeah, they were a trainwreck and I think they recorded it in a studio for Coliseum video, so there's no excuse. Superstar Billy Graham again proves the notion that a good promo doesn't equal a good wrestling match colorman...he was actually worse than Lord Alfred Hayes and that's saying something.
ReplyDeleteThanks for clarifying; I was looking at the stadium going "Where the hell are they?" And as bad as the announce team was, I'll tell ya: I could Demoilition beat the shit out of Dynamite all day. I'm surprised those two teams didn't work with each other more, actually.
ReplyDeleteWas this the match Dynamite talked about in his book?
ReplyDelete"Excuse me Scott, I believe the card was called Wrestleslam." -- Jeremy Piven
ReplyDeletesooo... then this was after Dynamite's injury? Was he back at 100% at this point? not quite sure of the history.
ReplyDeleteThe Demo's theme song = ( . Y . )
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to see the full show ever since I saw bits and pieces of it as a kid...I think it was released on Coliseum Video back then, but I could be mistaken.
