question for you or the blog:
Why does the E continue to use those ooollld CRT monitors at the announcers' desks when I'd imagine it's now easier/cheaper to use a small, flat-panel monitor? I'm surprised that they're even still produced.
That is a darn good question. Maybe they have a huge supply of them from years ago and they're just really durable and haven't needed to be replaced yet? Or maybe it's for visual impact when they tear up the table? I don't know, even TNA uses LCD ones now.
Anyone have insight on that one?
They are green as goose shit.
ReplyDeleteCRT monitors are #874 on Bret Hart's "Better than Triple H" list.
ReplyDeleteAnybody still have any CRTs around? I know some people use them to maximize the nostalgia for playing old video games. I keep a couple of small ones handy for watching old VHS to DVD wrestling TV stuff, because VHS footage loses a little something quickly when blown up to 60" lol. They just won't die though, seems a shame for them to end up in a landfill.
ReplyDeleteThe same reason steel chairs are left at ringside, the ring steps are removable and tables and ladders are left under the ring.

I believe Kevin Nash had a few choice words for them as well, given their rather slight build and diminutive appearance.
ReplyDeleteI have 4 of them. I just got my first LCD around Christmas.
ReplyDeleteOne was a gift, I've had it since I was 14 and she's still going strong (I'm 33 now), and the other three were hand me downs. The LCD is a hand me down too, I've never purchased a television in my life.
The LCD is nice because it's really light. I'll definitely be looking for those in my future hand me down acceptances.
I'll own them as long as I can too, I'm not the type to replace something just because there's something new available.
Yes. He will need some ointment to treat that.

ReplyDeleteI do. I've been waiting for like 7 years for my old Toshiba CRT to die so I can get an LCD but it just keeps going. The thing weighs as much as a small car, no way am I moving it until I absolutely have to.
