Hulk Hogan / TNA Update
After last night's Impact, there is a chance that we have seen Hogan's last appearance in TNA. Sources have told Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com that Hogan was mad with TNA after they did not inform him ahead of time that they were releasing his daughter, Brooke. Also, Hogan's recent comments about TNA needing "real leadership" were seen as a slap in the face of Dixie Carter. With Jeff Jarrett assuming a more active role in the past few weeks, there are rumors within the company that TNA is preparing him for a larger role.

The idea of Hogan finally being all washed up and not wanted by TNA or WWE is actually really sad.
ReplyDelete400 grand a year.
ReplyDeleteFor Albert.
I'd be surprised if that wasn't a major contributing factor in Johnny Ace getting shitcanned.
Hogan: After last night's shitshow... I'd rather see Hogan stay if him leaving means Dixie (as Stephanie McMahon II) getting more airtime.
ReplyDeleteHenry: If he's getting paid well, that's great. He's earned this extension.
Tensai: So WWE paid 400K to give Brodus a tag partner? Damn.
Konnan: Interesting read, at least.
I don't usually play grammar police but if Hogan was "Mad with TNA" that means TNA is also mad. It is "mad at TNA" up your game Mike Johnson.
ReplyDelete$400k? I really need a career as a WWE lower midcarder.
The weird thing is, as much shit as I aim at Hogan, he's been mostly fine as Impact GM this last year. Other than him and Sting getting the better of Aces on that one Impact, I'd say he's done what he could do with TNA... get the big pop, maybe let it rub off on a few guys in various ways, and not looked totally out of place.
ReplyDeleteIf I could change one thing in TNA... Dixie's not involved in the main angle. Hogan "re-signs" Styles, despite their differences, because he just hates Bully Ray THAT DAMN MUCH. No screwjob, no "HA HA I FOOLED YOU!", just Hogan doing what he feels needs to be done as GM.
Sweet T is getting paid! Also how many actually shows is the injury prone mark Henry even going to make between now and 2016? 30? Maybe 40?
ReplyDeleteI wonder how much he takes away after insurance and travel expenses.
ReplyDeleteProbably a lot more than a lot of hard working people do.
ReplyDelete$400,000/year. "Don't you know that there are kids starving in Japan?"
ReplyDelete...and he gets the benefit of having the best views of Naomi's ass.
ReplyDeleteHow much of Tensai's 400k goes towards fast food? Im gonna guess a fifth, or 80k mcdonalds double cheeseburgers.
ReplyDeleteAnything that puts Karen Jarrett on my tv screen again is okay by me.
ReplyDeleteI smell a shoot, brutha.
ReplyDeleteOf course the last time Hogan was involved in a 'shoot' it didn't end too well...
Hogan Knows Best?
ReplyDeleteForget the Konnan link, check out the rare photos from WCW

Lets hope TNA has the sense to sign Hogan to a new deal before they shot the angle. Hogan is not worth the money but imagine your owner actually begging for an employee not to leave, and he actually leaves the company. Pretty much destroy any name value of the company.
ReplyDeleteNot that TNA has any value left, but they may as well fold.
Henry revealed that like a month ago on the Rosenberg interview.
ReplyDeleteSO EAT IT!!
ReplyDeleteJUST EAT IT!!
Well, for people who didnt see that, now they know.
ReplyDeleteHighlights:
ReplyDelete4: Yum.
5: Yum X 3 (Three standing on right. Others are good-looking, but those three make me stiff.)
6: At least the right person's taking up the majority of the frame.
7: "So we job to Taker and Kane, and then...?"
11: Just wrong. On any possible level.
14: Two out of three ain't bad.
15: "Oh no, I've lost the legdrop!"
16: (head meets desk)
18: "Okay Flair, no more inked beer for you."
21: "You win, Windham. Bet I can drink more Kamikazes than you though..."
22: Yum.
27: "Damnit Bobby and Stan, I told you to wake up earlier for this shoot!"
30: Liz, that's breath spray to them. Try Hydrochloric Acid, that might work.
32: "David, I hate you."
48: "Jo-Jo, Paragraph 69, Section F, Subsection U says, and I quote, 'If Chris Jericho can't become a World Champion in WCW, he has the right to go to the WWF and help bury the pricks who held him down.' In conclusion, see ya', wouldn't wanna be ya' Jo-Jo."
58: The best part of Warrior's run in WCW.
61: Yum.
69: Yum, no, not too bad, no.
73: More meds than Walgreens.
79-80: Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.
87: "Damnit, who spiked Flair's water now?"
89: Flair's bar allowance.
91: Still less useless than he is in TNA now.
93: Richard Petty approves.
95: Yum X 3
97: God Bless those two.
99: The Enforcer and The Staller.
104: DAMN!
106: That camera angle makes Missy look... not good.
112: And we finish with The greatest skank in the history of skanks!"
If WWE can find time to trot Ric Flair's corpse out once or twice a year, I'm almost certain they'll get Hogan on a Legends contract at the very minimum.
ReplyDeleteStacey Kiebler: "Please God, help me out. I need a better life."
ReplyDeleteGod: "I know that you're sleeping with David Flair right now. But if you continue to work hard and treat others the way you would like to be treated, one day you will date George Clooney."
If they wanted "rarely seen photos from WCW" they could have shown photos from Nitro during the last year of WCW.
ReplyDeleteYeah, as much shit as gets aimed Hogan's way I'd like to see more guys end up like Rock and HBK: able to retire and be at peace with themselves.
ReplyDeleteWell, until Ric Flair has to fake his death to avoid creditors.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine how much it costs to insure his big ass.
ReplyDeleteIf Hogan stays you'll just have more of both of them.
ReplyDelete-Hope Hogan's gone, but really won't be optimistic about TNA's chances until Dixie is.
ReplyDelete-Screw Nash and HHH, HENRY is the smartest man in wrestling. Got the mega 10 year deal when he started, put up with humiliating angles rather then quit, got re-signed and got himself over in the dusk of his career, and now gets a 3 year extension despite injuries. Bravo sir.
-I have no words on Tensai. Who wanted him so bad? If it was HHH, I am REALLY starting to question his eye for talent (ADR, Sin Cara, etc.)
-I thought Konnan had torched every bridge in the biz.
Tensai really isn't in bad shape.
ReplyDeleteYea he is.
ReplyDeleteADR is massively talented. And if you can't see it then you're a fucking philistine.
ReplyDeleteADR's picture is next to the word "meh" in the dictionary
ReplyDeleteWe'll hoist that goddamn Del Rio flag, even if nobody else will.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is that fans don't care.
ReplyDeleteIt's because we're men of distinction and class.
ReplyDeleteIf MEH stands for.
ReplyDeleteManly
Extreme
Heroic
Then yes.
Fans didn't care about plenty of Dean Malenko matches, does that mean he wasn't talented?
ReplyDeleteThe only person to buy a Van Gogh painting in his lifetime was his brother, are you saying Vinny didn't have chops?
how so?
ReplyDeleteAny wrestler on WWE's roster (with the exception of Khali and Hornswoggle) is in better shape than anybody on this blog.
ReplyDeleteSo you dont think hes like 20 lbs overweight? I think they even claimed he was punished at some point for being to fat.
ReplyDeleteWhile we're talking about how awesome ADR can be, you know what I like about him? He looks like he cares when he's in the ring. Like the win is the most important thing in the world, and the potential loss is like a cancer to be avoided. Means a lot these days.
ReplyDeleteLook at him. Hes like 20 lbs overweight. I think Meltzer even reported he was taken off tv for awhile bc he was to fat.
ReplyDeletewe dont agree on much but i gotta side with yo on this one.
ReplyDeleteTensai is most def in shape. you dont have to look it in wrestling.
Kevin. Steen.
Phase One: Dress up as Japanese Warrior even though your name is Matt.
ReplyDeletePhase Two: ???
Phase 3: Profit!
Holy hell, way to go Big Al!
He's crisp, he's athletic, he's always playing his character, he's intense and he's got good psychology.
ReplyDeleteWhat don't people like about this guy? Plus his kicks sound like the earth is cracking open.
He's not an underwear model and he's got some extra pound on him, but that doesn't mean he's not in-shape or athletic.
ReplyDeleteTensai can go, not just the basic "He's in there every week getting slammed" going either. Tensai is pretty damn fast for a fat-ass.
Truth.
ReplyDeleteBut Steen needs to lose weight before it kills or cripples him.
Yea, im not arguing if he can work or is athletic or not. I just said hes fat/overweight. I think Meltzer said he was taken off tv for awhile for that reason.
ReplyDeleteHe looks Butterbean fat, not Brando fat. If management can't see that, they're dumb. Tensai has problems, but his look is not it.
ReplyDeleteAnd fuck Meltzer.
It still blows my mind that somebody as ugly as David Flair got STACEY KIEBLER. But then, this is a business where fucking Diamond Dallas Page married KIMBERLY.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe Torri Wilson married Billy Kidman or that Stacy was taken by both David and Test and still wound up with George Clooney and has somehow became a respected person in Hollywood despite doing nothing ever to deserve it. I'm surprised Nancy was with both Sullivan and Benoit she was out of both their leagues. The amount of gorgeous women that have dated wrestlers that where in a league well below them is astounding.
ReplyDeleteDel Rio is great. I really wasn't feeling his babyface character earlier this year, but even then you could tell he was trying to make the best out of the nothing they were giving him.
ReplyDeleteI think Kidman is actually attractive to women. I mean, guys just see a skinnier wrestler with a big nose, but women actually like the big-nose look (Ryan Gosling & Jensen Ackles both have them, as does Patrick Stewart who was popular back in the day), and he's still bigger than a normal dude.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the intensity, weirdness and charisma of wrestlers works for them in most cases. Even Foley ended up with a hottie, and that was BEFORE he got famous or rich.
ADR has really been treated pretty poorly by the company. He rarely gets a hot angle, and he when he does (Christian feud, Dolph concussion angle) he does well with it.
ReplyDeleteHe's right below the top guys and he just gets ignored half the time.
And Zack Ryder can't get booked
ReplyDeleteI think we'll see him at WM30's festivities. Not in a match I hope, but maybe just an appearance
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't get the Albert thing at all. They had plenty of big guys to use as temporary monster-of-the-week opponents for Cena without that kind of expense
ReplyDeleteI want to see Mark give someone a rub by tag-teaming with them in a dominant monster team. Mark & Big E or Mark & one of the big freakish NXT guys?
ReplyDeleteI don't doubt his talent, I just think a lot of fans don't like a guy being force-fed as a big deal. And ADR has had that treatment for years now. If the belts still meant what they once did, ADR would be the perfect long-term IC champion level guy.
ReplyDeleteI still want to see a proper Punk vs. ADR feud
ReplyDeleteStacy is still the hottest ever. Torrie Wilson, Elizabeth, and Trish were amazing, but Stacy gets all the buys
ReplyDeleteKept him out of WCW though
ReplyDeleteI don't care why fans don't like him. We're not the plebeian rabble though, and we should be above that. We should be able to objectively look at somebodies talent and examine whether they were a good choice as a talent or not.
ReplyDeleteIt's like rap fans being concerned about how "hard" a MC is. Shit. Does. Not. Matter.
That Konnan interview was ridiculously entertaining and informative, especially for someone who was a huge 9 year old mark for Max Moon when he debuted. Konnan is one of those guys I never thought I'd see interviewed in official WWE literature.
