> I actually caught both the finish of the main event and the post-match angle from ROH, without buffering, so I can't say it wasn't worth the price. Undercard was fine as well.. But THIS may have been the highlight of the day..

Yeah, like I said in the NXT review, there's something unique and big here with this guy.
Do Gilbert and Sullivan takeoffs fail to entertain?
ReplyDeleteWHY HARDLY EVEEEEERRRRRRRRR!!!!!
It's like some weird mashup of Fandango, Sandow, Cody's facial hair, and projections of Darren Young...
ReplyDelete...Or...Freddie Mercury lives???
Has ROH ever had a successful stream? Paid or free? Should stop hiring the guy that sets up the announcers table before Punk matches to run things.
ReplyDeleteEddie Gilbert and Kevin Sullivan?
ReplyDeleteWow... THIS...IS... MONEY. Bad News for Fandango, Curtis Axel or Damien Sandow this guy blows them away as far as leaping off the camera.
ReplyDeletePair him with Fandango as "Song & Dance" and put them over The Shield on Monday NOW!
ReplyDeleteStatler: He's not half bad.
ReplyDeleteWaldorf: Yeah, but the other half's not good!
HO HO HO HO HO!
If only.
ReplyDeleteDoug Gilbert & Evad Sullivan
ReplyDelete[aneurysm]
ReplyDeleteFandango has a good niche right now. As long as he doesn't "Too Cool" it.
ReplyDeleteThat is NOT how dyslexia works, Evad!
ReplyDeleteYeah in their early days of iPPV oddly enough. Their first live show was December 2009 but things didn't start getting really bad until around early 2012.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of NXT, I just saw the promo debut for Kalisto aka Samuray Del Sol. This guy can speak both English and Spanish, has a great looking mask and overall look, and from what I've seen on the indy circuit is a fantastic lucha wrestler who can easily adapt his style for WWE.
ReplyDeleteAll I'm saying is don't be surprised if Sin Cara get's his walking papers soon.
Link?

ReplyDeleteWhat's The Maestro doing these days?
ReplyDeleteFirst thing I thought of: Freddie Mercury.
Is this that 'Last Tough Guy of Professional Wrestling' _______ Young, or something...? (I was really tired, forgive me..)
ReplyDeleteIf it's him, he looked pretty damn impressive.
Are you talking about Silas Young? He's currently with ROH and if they're lucky he'll stay there because he has more charisma and character than a good chunk of their current talent.
ReplyDeleteThe last real man of pro wrestling would not aprove of a Broadway actor transitioning to wrestling, this English fellow isn't a Real Man!
ReplyDeleteYoung is going nowhere, his gimmick is a sexist pig who thinks he is a manly bad ass.
the link is to a new wrestler in WWE developmental
Damien Sandow is just fine. Dude oozes heel charisma. Curtis Axel on the other hand...that experiment should be killed at this point.
ReplyDeleteAwesome. Not only did Sin Cara's lucha style never really mesh in the WWE, he never spoke a single syllable (to my recollection). People couldn't identify with him. This guy? This looks to be the true successor to Mysterio.
ReplyDeleteOh ok. At first glance they kinda looked similar.
ReplyDeleteYou are thinking of Ryan Drago, who's nxt name is Simon Gotch
ReplyDeletereally? I'll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteOk, watching this guy wrestle in this clip *immediately* made me think of a movie I loved as a kid and haven't thought about in years; The One and Only starring Henry Winkler.

Fuck the IMDB rating; I remember this being really good. Of course, I haven't seen it as an adult. I can't find it for free streaming anywhere, but I'm really curious about how I, and other Smarks, would see it now.
Anyone else remember this flick?
