Hola Otters, after a rousing discussion of the most disappointing series finales, it's now time to talk about those shows that ended in such deliciously satisfying ways they had weight watchers points.
What are your favorite Series Finales? What Satisfied you most, and why? Are there finales other people hate, but you really like?
For me:
Scrubs is probably my favorite - just the right amount of fan service, conflict, resolution, sappiness, and the way JD finally gets his hug from Dr. Cox is the best thing in the history of TV, ever. Well, not ever, but it was really freaking good.
The Wire - While the last season's whole serial killer thing was a little weird, I liked how it essentially showed that despite following these characters for 5 Seasons, life goes on with or without them, hustlers hustle, Police Police, drug addicts take drugs, and no matter who you are, you're human.
The Shield - Really the penultimate episode is my favorite, where we get a list of every single possible sin Vic committed over the previous seasons, and it is brutal, because it kind of makes us realize just how big of a bastard this guy we've been rooting for, is. The finale was pretty good, too, giving us some satisfaction in the Dutch / Claudia department, and a variety of other details that made the whole thing feel satisfying.
The Sopranos: This is a subject worthy of it's own post. Stand by.
Star Trek TNG: I loved the optimism of the episode, how that sometimes humanity can approach planes of thought that transcend our corporeal existence - but at the same time the episode makes sure to point out that we must cherish that existence.
King of The Hill - Bobby and Hank finally find something they can truly bond over, forever. "I think it's the last one," says Bobby, as an in joke to the fact King of The Hill was seemingly always cancelled, then came back.
------------------------------------
Blog Otter Award: CultStatus for a burn so harsh we all traveled back to 1955.

Cowboy Bebop. It left me wanting more, but also left me content with what it did give me.
ReplyDeleteArrested Development (season 3). Wrapped up everything beautifully.
ReplyDeleteForever Knight - Despite almost no budget, a beautiful, tragic ending.
Murder One Season one - a satisfying 'whodunit' and a great kicker with Ted's briefcase.
I gotta see that show!
ReplyDeleteThe series finale of Frasier is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteNewhart comes to mind right away.
ReplyDeleteStar Trek TNG had a good one also.
Scrubs: That's the NBC finale, no? If so, enjoyed it as well. Things got weird when they shifted to ABC
ReplyDeleteFrasier in general was fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThe "Hot Tub" episode of American Dad was supposed to be the last one and it was good. And I afree that the last episode of Frasier was good as well.
ReplyDeleteI have 100+ completed Anime on MAL and still haven't seen Bebop...I really need to fix that
ReplyDeleteNo the abc finale with book of love and hooch is crazy!
ReplyDeleteI still really like the Angel finale, Wesley's death was a killer to watch as well as Illyria "lying" to him as he died. Then the end with a hoard of evil beings coming down on the four remaining heros (one of which is dying) and Angel saying "I kinda want to slay the dragon. Let's go to work!" sword swing, cut to black. I know others didn't like it but I thought it was perfect.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the NHK
ReplyDeleteEf--A Tale of Memories
Baccano
Toradora
The Wire - blew off everything that it was supposed to and left the door open to the future if they wanted to go there. All a man wants from his tv watchin'
ReplyDeleteI loved the House finale too, with him and Wilson riding into the sunset
ReplyDeleteDamnit, never saw that.
ReplyDeleteWant the full spoiler?
ReplyDeleteCheers is great because you get the idea that they are still at the bar all these years later. The Office was a great goodbye and had so many nods to previous episodes.
ReplyDeleteScrubs was perfection.
ReplyDeleteSo was Gilmore Girls (yes, I watched that).
I hated Friends, but their finale was good.
I loved the Sheild finale (and Vic is the last cast member of the Sheild NOT to be cast on SOA... that needs to change).
Um, no. I was really upset when House and Cuddy broke up and kind of abandoned it, but I'm sure eventually I'll break down when I see the last two seasons on DVD for cheap and I'll buy them and then find out.
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing a preview for the final season in a theater and thinking, wowza, I gotta check out this show!
ReplyDeleteDuly noted. Added to main post.
ReplyDeleteHooch *IS* crazy.
ReplyDeleteScrubs had an excellent series finale.
ReplyDeleteI liked how the Soprano's finale left things open for a possible movie.
The Wire had a decent finale. McNulty's Irish Wake scene was great
On the Cuddy front, was that break up at all motivated by the contract disputes with her
ReplyDeleteSee I thought the Friends finale was very by the numbers. It didn't suck or anything but it was basically the mega happy ending... nothing very memorable at all.
ReplyDeleteThat's the one that is a little shop of horrors clone right? I thought that was terribly stupid.
ReplyDeleteAnd Frasier confirms it, at least with Norm, Cliff, and Carla.
ReplyDeleteLoved it, and I loved the follow up in the comics.
ReplyDeleteBut man, the scene that always got me was Lorne's, "I've heard you sing", before pulling the trigger.
It's the show that gave you everything you wanted in a way. From the beginning, you wanted Niles to get with Daphne, and they made you WAIT for it, but never to the point where you felt it was "too late" when it finally happened. And for some reason, you never wanted Frasier's quest for true love to end. You kind of wanted him to end up with Roz, but you kind of didn't. It was interesting.
ReplyDeleteThe sopranos absolutely did not open things open for a movie.
ReplyDeleteI think ST:TNG for me. So bittersweet. "All Good Things" indeed. At least we knew there were movies yet to come.
ReplyDeleteThe Wonder Years had a realistic and satisfying final episode. This show actually was at its best during the final 2 seasons.
ReplyDeletem*a*s*h, duh
ReplyDeletei really liked what turned out to be the final ep of heroes. it actually worked perfectly well for both a season *and* a series finale
ReplyDeletealso liked the last ep of ER. it actually ended on a happy note, which is something that for whatever had really been escaping cook county for a while at that point. and mark's daughter actually wasnt annoying for once. i really thought the ending did a great job of paying appropriate homage to the past while also embracing and pimping the future (that we wouldnt see, obivously)
what exactly did cult win the award for?
ReplyDeleteSPOILER (for jvc)

didnt watch it, but i've read that it was a all a hallucination and that house died in the fire
Somebody mentioned Dinosaurs yesterday, but damn, what a fantastic ending. I usually don't stick around to watch finales, so that's all that comes to mind.
ReplyDeleteA few picks:
ReplyDelete*Chuck- Absolutely drove the shippers nuts, but gave every character one last great moment, came up with a compelling problem for a group of people who'd already taken down rogue government agencies and international criminal empires, and spend its last few moments reminding not only the two leads why the loved each other, but the viewers why they loved the show.
*Veronica Mars- Though I'm glad they're getting the movie, the final episode was a *perfect* embrace of where the show had been going all along; every arc, every season, very nearly every episode had been pushing Veronica closer and closer into the world of true film noir... but her connections to her father, friends, and everything else always kept the show just a shade lighter than that. With one of the series' biggest bads back none the worse for wear, her father getting whooped by Van Lowe in the election, Logan on the hitlist of a powerful secret society, and everything else in flux, Veronica finally becomes the true noir protagonist who does what she believes is right even though she KNOWS beyond a shadow of a doubt that it won't matter. And then, for the first time in the whole show, on its final shot... it rains. Perfect.
* Terriers- It didn't resolve anything, and I wish there was season 2, but it was a perfect episode of television and it ended with Hank and Britt stuck, as ever, deciding between the men they are and the men they want to be.
*Batman: The Brave and the Bold- Showed everything that was great about the series, and quite literally said goodbye to the fans while giving nearly the entire cast a swan song and reminding us all why we love Batman so much.
*Scooby Doo & Mystery Incorporated- The gang saves the world from a cross between C'Thulu, a parrot, and Hannibal Lecter, finds themselves in a revamped reality where only the five of them remember the old timeline, and set off to solve mysteries and have adventures, revealing the entire (awesome) show as a stealth prequel to the original sixties cartoons. My pick for #1.
please to be explaining abut american dad. wasnt it like the 1st ep of its season?!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I'd put one of Futurama's 9 finales here, but I can't pick one, and it'll be back again anyways.
ReplyDeletepeeps remember the literal ending of newhart, the last scene. but how was the rest of the ep?
ReplyDeleteraises an interesting point that was sort of raised in the "worts finale" thread, about how the final moment can taint (or in this case, maybe augment) an entire ep
in b4 scott says 'friends'
ReplyDeleteyoure right about one thing: it was satisfying that the damn show ended (i never liked it)
ReplyDeleteIf you don't like the Wonder Years, you are an awful person
ReplyDeleteThe show wasn't as good at the end. But the finale is awesome. The twist at the end is great.
ReplyDeleteThe Office finale was a very satisfying conclusion to the show.
ReplyDeleteI also love the Cosby Show finale. The final episodes of Family Matters suck, but the next to last episode is amazing and pays off the Steve Laura arc spectacularly.
never understood the appeal. i wasnt a flower child, and it was always morose and a downer. and all the characters were annoying. and daniel stern's voice got to be annoying to me
ReplyDeletei'm thinking that 'the goldbergs' will be my wonder years
fake hariet
ReplyDeletei didnt realize that russo and/or m night whatshisnuts booked it.
ReplyDeleteThe Goldbergs is really not even in the Wonder Years league. I mean, wow. Compare the pilot of the Wonder Years to the pilot of the Goldbergs.
ReplyDeleteThat's something Caliber would say
Real Harriet has a cameo in the series finale.
ReplyDeleteLet's use the shift key please.
ReplyDeletedidnt say it would be a modern wonder years, just that it might be my wonder years.
ReplyDeleteeven though i hate the show i recognize that TWY was huge
The Friends finale is way too series finaleish, it just doesn't seem natural. The get off the plane stuff is just cheesy, as is everyone moves out, which is every series finale.
ReplyDeleteThe last Chandler Joey scene is great
Goldbergs wants to be the Wonder Years but doesn't get what made the Wonder Years work.
ReplyDeleteAnd I liked the pilot a lot
lets not
ReplyDelete30 Rock had a pretty great one too, don't know why I didn't think of it earlier.
ReplyDeleteover on memebase and its plethrora if offshoots, somene posted a pic of the 6 keys on the table with the some caption like 'the saddest scene in tv finale history'
ReplyDeleteyeah, whoever submitted it got ripped to shreds
Yeah, the comic (at least the original After the Fall series) were EXCELLANT reading with a great story. I'm actually friends with Brian Lynch and got some sneak peeks before the issues came out. I don't know if you've read it, it came out after the initial ATF run but the "Boys and Their Toys" double issue was fantastic, track it down if you can.
ReplyDeleteYeah Lorne killing Lindsey was pretty emotional as he was the most pasifict of the group. It's sad Andy Hallet died too, he was perfect as Lorne.
I bought the first couple of trades and a few of the single issues. I think the last thing I remember reading was a story involving Conner after Hell is reversed.
ReplyDeleteWell it had the 2 brothers that would never speak that finally spoke... I don't remember the rest.
ReplyDeleteThe wacky events at Tony Sopranoes wake could be a movie.
ReplyDeleteThe ending was done in a way that they could have easily done a movie. The scene at the diner ending, he might or might not have gotten shot, and then you can start a movie from that point on
ReplyDeleteAvatar: The Last Airbender; an amazing three-season run concluded by a FANTASTIC two-hour, four-episode finale. That last hour run of action was more exciting than Man of Steel, and wrapped up every storyline in a very satisfying manner. Like the best of Disney, Pixar, and Miyazaki, the show transcends being children animation into wonderful all-ages entertainment. Some live-action shows wishes it could weave intriguing characters and weaving mythology (coughHeroescough) as well as TLA did. Fuck M. Night for putting out that horrible movie too and making the brand semi-synonymous with that turd.
ReplyDeleteI will stick up for the Friends series finale; yeah, it's corny and hokey, but fuck it, it earned that goodwill to do it and had that note of finality to hit all the feels. Saddest moment, though, goes to the destruction of the foosball table. ;_;
Can't beleive no one (including me) said that before you
ReplyDeleteYou read wrong. Very wrong
ReplyDeleteIsn't that still the highest rated show in history, not counting NFL games?
ReplyDeleteIt's at about that point where I gave up on that show.
ReplyDeleteI've found every episode of American Dad terribly stupid. Can't stand that show.
ReplyDeleteThat's my pick, and the only one I even really considered.
ReplyDelete"King of The Hill - Bobby and Hank finally find something they can truly bond over, forever. "I think it's the last one," says Bobby, as an in joke to the fact King of The Hill was seemingly always cancelled, then came back."
ReplyDeleteI just love how we found out that stoner-ass Boomhauer is actually a Texas Ranger.
Loved that show...rewatchin now on Netflix. I think it was ahead of its time and deserved more, especially since it was cancelled. Can't believe hallet died from a tooth infection, at least that's what news said
ReplyDelete"i'll see ya back in the states, i promise. just in case, i left you a note!"
ReplyDeleteAh, ABC but then the bastardized 9th season with just Cox and Turk as full timers. That's what threw me, for some reason thought Book of Love was NBC and the year after was ABC. LOVED that ending.
ReplyDeleteI was more upset that Foreman and 13 broke up. They were a more interesting couple.
ReplyDeleteAnother vote for Angel. From what I remember reading a lot of the cast didn't care for it becoming the Spike show but I really liked that season with them running Wolfram and Hart. Wes's death still gets me every watching
ReplyDeleteIt was supposed to be the last episode (which is why Stan died at the end) but it got renewed at the last second.
ReplyDeleteYeah.The one with Cee-Lo.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, they'd better not kill the series before they bring Jeff FIsher back.
Helipad:
ReplyDelete"G O O D B Y E"
I will gladly accept the Blog Otter award on behalf of Mr. Status, as the provider of the burned material in question.
ReplyDeleteI thought I remember reading they were breaking up regardless but had imagined she'd be back, things went south after filming
ReplyDeletewow, another i forgot. you get closure for each character and i love the final scene with kevin and his dad in the kitchen as the day ends.
ReplyDeleteMost people seemed to hate the finale of "Lost", but I really liked it. The finale that annoyed me the most was probably "Quantum Leap". Just let Sam go home, dammit.
ReplyDelete24. Guilty pleasure and derivative since they already did "Jack sad Hulks alone into the sunset" a couple of seasons before but left it to our imagination that Jack Bauer's still having power hours A-Team style somewhere else.
ReplyDeleteI get that, but the last season ended up being really good. House's only real friend in the world has terminal cancer!? Awesome stuff
ReplyDeleteThe scrubs school stuff won me over actually with the silly little singing thing at the end. "It's okaaayyy bro, we'll be a trriiioooo
ReplyDeleteYeah, true. Just wish they kind of went for full on spinoff or tried to get more of the original cast back. Seemed like they were trying to have it both ways and while the end result wasn't bad, wasn't nearly enough Eagle'ing
ReplyDeleteWait, that was the last season? The episode where House and the other guy (why the hell can't I remember his name?) do the chemo in his apartment was like Oz riot episode great.
ReplyDeleteI only watch the repeats of House, so my timeline is probably mixed up.
Yeah, last season featured Wilson's cancer storyline
ReplyDeleteXFiles. Thought they salvaged what they could of the Duchovny-less years, some nice callbacks (Krycek!). Still think Fox left a fortune on the table not getting out a movie in time for Mayan 2012/Alien invasion
ReplyDeleteCheers: The final line "Sorry, we're closed" was appropriate, given the setting.
ReplyDeleteThe last season is the one all about House trying to cope with Wilson's approaching death and in the end he *spoiler*
ReplyDeleteAlso gonna toss out golden girls. Bea Arthur looks directly into the camera when she says goodbye. Real subtle, real sweet.
ReplyDeletehe's already back...
ReplyDeleteI've been forced to watch that show one time too many.
ReplyDeleteSee, that's my favorite FOX cartoon, after Bob. AD does what Family Guy refuses to, tell actual stories with actual jokes.
ReplyDeleteIt was as phoned-in as the rest of season ten.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I came in to say.
ReplyDeleteAlso very good.
ReplyDeleteDownvote.
ReplyDeleteWonder Years is relateable to anyone who has grown up. It's about growing up and starting to realise what the real world is like.
ReplyDeleteGoldbergs is just a bunch of yelling.
ReplyDeleteWonder Years might have the best pilot of all time
The show is really not about being a flower child at all. It's about that period of life, and it did a pretty good job with it.
ReplyDeleteI used to watch it with my Grandma when I was little and thought it was just old lady stuff but now that I'm older I sort of like it.
ReplyDeleteYeah that was a great way to end it.
ReplyDeleteReal simple: The Wire.
ReplyDeleteAgreed on the office. I didnt expect much because the last few years weren't good, but the finale was great.
ReplyDeleteI related to that show as a boy becoming a man, it had nothing to do with the time period.
ReplyDeleteI liked the Entourage finale. Stayed within the shows narrative, and didnt try to hard. Whether you liked entourage or not is another story.
ReplyDeletewell i didnt get to fucking have that whole "young love, oh my god she likes me" bullshit that permeates the show, so it can fucking kiss my ass
ReplyDeleteas mentioned above, i didnt get to have that whole "boy discovers young love" bullshit, so the show can fuck off
ReplyDeletei in no way can relate to the kevin/winnie bullshit, so sorry, no dice
ReplyDeleteIm curious on what the third installment of this is...so far weve got least favorite, most favorite, and...
ReplyDeleteGilmore Girls was a great show. Don't let anyone tell you different.
ReplyDeleteYes, we get it, you have no luck with women.
ReplyDeleteWonder Years also had probably the most realistic TV dad ever. Dan Lauria can't get enough praise.
ReplyDeleteWait, you never get with girls? Holy shit!
ReplyDeleteWith all this Wonder Years hate, you are no longer my favorite loser.
ReplyDeleteThere's way more to the show than that. You didn't grow up and come of age, realise the realities of the world?
ReplyDeleteThe episode where Kevin goes to work with his dad at NORCOM is amazing.
I didn't realize Andy Hallett's heart condition was caused by dental work. That's nuts.
ReplyDeleteAngel is definitely my answer for this list, and the one show that, based on its finale, I wish it had one more season. The fifth season upped the game for the show so much that I think it could have been worlds better than Buffy if it continued.
I'm halfway through the fifth season of The Wire now. Probably the best episodes of a TV program I've seen.
ReplyDeleteIt's not even just about that though, it's about growing up in general.
ReplyDeleteMost sitcoms have some form of romance, or relationship as a key plot point, do you hate them all?
Spoiler alert: The Goldbergs will deal with young love
ReplyDeleteYou need to stop being such a defeatist. You reap what you sow.
ReplyDeleteAlso a big fan of Gilmore Girls, although I disagree with how well the finale was.
ReplyDeleteScrubs (not counting the Turk-Cox teaching hospital episodes) had an amazing finale. Damn near cried at the end.
Cowboy Bebop. Absolutely beautiful and perfect.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIG7E2_iAYk
fuck off
ReplyDeleteevery time i caught a glimpse of the show it was focusing on some bullshit with winnie and kevin
ReplyDeleteYou're the one who seems to make it the heart of every other post you make.
ReplyDeletelook up 'learned helplessness'
ReplyDeletedepending on how intense whatever they show is, i cringe and/or roll my eyes and automatically say something like "fuck off" or "for fucks sake"
ReplyDeletei'm sorry, but its all bullshit to me, something i've been denied my entire and I"M FUCKING PISSED OFF.
fuck any and every one of those who have hurt me
We can't even have a thread about series finales without this bullshit. Amazing
ReplyDeleteWell actually he already had the heart condition for years before. Then some tooth infection made it go from bad to worse. I met Hallet at a friends party and he was beyond hilarious with a perfect Paul Lynde impression.
ReplyDeleteBoys and Their Toys is more of a stand alone issue(s) outside of the main story. It focuses on Angel, Spike and Groo going to a Comic Con to retrieve a mystical sword (and to also see the Angel:After the Fall movie). While there some demons use the same spell Ethan Rayne used on Halloween turning everybody into their costumes. When the spell takes effect Spike is in disguise, wearing an Angel costume. Hilariousness ensues.
ReplyDeleteThat show was really good, I watched that, Empty Nest and Nurses on Friday nights as a kid. Now the spinoff where the rest of them own a hotel was pure crap.
ReplyDeleteentourage is smarter than folks give it credit for, the production value is obscene and there are a ton of just insane, unbroken, long takes. Though the finale for that show should have Been one day in the valley
ReplyDeleteI agree that it's the best I've ever seen. You won't be disappointed with the ending.
ReplyDeleteAs a kid my bedtime was 8:30 even on the weekends. Used to ask mom if I could stay up late to watch the Golden Girls on Saturday nights. I now hold my head in shame for admitting that.
ReplyDeleteBlake's 7
ReplyDeleteI'll back you on the LOST finale too, it had me all the way.
ReplyDeleteWow...you really should!
ReplyDeleteI remember walking past the tv sometime in 97, looking at it, seeing Family Matters on, and muttering "is that still on?!". Never seen any of the episodes that ran on CBS. May try to find that one on youtube.
ReplyDeleteFamily Matters episodes are not on youtube. I've looked.
ReplyDeleteYour name always makes me think I'm really talking to Devin Harris and I get giddy.
Don't be. It's a great show. Just because it's about a Buncha old women doesn't change that fact. We aren't drug dealers or doctors or detectives, but we enjoy those shows, we should be able to enjoy golden girls without guilt.
ReplyDeleteEspecailly when I have some REALLY shitty shows on that list
ReplyDelete-Darker then Black: Ryuusei no Gemini
-Haruhi's second season (endless eight + an adaption of the weekest novel in the series=NO BUYS)
-Needless
-Nyan Koi
-Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu
-Gundam Seed DESTINY
-Angel Beats
-yosuga no sora: in solitude when we are least alone
All varying degrees of terrible, and that's just off the top of my head
The funny thing is the show still holds up. It's still weird that I was into it to begin with.
ReplyDeleteyou underestimate society's ability to make us guilty about what we like. The fact I have the audacity to have music with a female vocalist on my phone gets me looks. Shredding guitar solo? Demanding vocal range? thought provoking lyrics? nope, it's sung by a girl--must be pop bullshit. I stoped caring, but guys get wierd about liking things that aren't macho. Old ladies aren't macho
ReplyDeleteI just checked and they still aren't.
ReplyDeleteWhen Devin Harris got traded to the Nets they asked Vince Carter about the trade and he asked "is Devin Harris playing tonight?" and it became a running joke.
I'm with this guy. Fuck that show. If youre a comedy do some jokes
ReplyDeleteLook man, I can sympathize--My entire crowd is a collection of misfits, outcasts and losers. With that in mind. GET THE FUCK UP! You got issues, great--if sharing them helps you should, nay, you have to, but when it's a repetitive "pay attention to me, wah, why does no one love me. No one would want to spend time with someone who REFUSES to try and be happy. Rather then sneer at people who are actually satisfied, why don't you try to learn from them.
ReplyDelete/rant
I enjoyed Devin on the Nets but then when he got traded for D-Will, it was night and day.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to watch the episode where Carl and the widow bond over the hostage situation Carl had to police
Yes it is. The highest rated fiction program ever, I believe.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't a comedy.
ReplyDeleteI'm old enough and been through enough to know better but man some stuff is just hard to shake. My boy wants to play football and part of me doesn't want him to play because of the dangers involved and the other half is wondering when I turned into such a pussy.
ReplyDeleteWait, we're NOT drug dealers? What the fuck am I supposed to do with this 5 kilos of blow, then? Shit, man, I wish you would have told me this earlier!
ReplyDeleteGo gay. Maybe not your cup of tea but I bet you can catch a jizz load real easy! Then you're in the game bro
ReplyDeleteI was trying to think of my favorite episode but I really don't have one. I think I just watched TGIF out of habit. I didn't/don't like any of those shows.
ReplyDeleteYou disappoint me after we agreed so much on Vince Russo.
ReplyDeleteGoodbye, Farewell and Amen (the finale of M*A*S*H*) had 125.59 million viewers, which was 60.2% of households, and a 77% share of televisions.
ReplyDeleteIt is still #1, and nothing else comes close.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most_watched_television_broadcasts#United_States
So you can not watch anything that involves people falling in love? Because I think that eliminates, well, everything
ReplyDeleteWhat about the jerk off in the glasses? Or the dude from wcw?
ReplyDeleteHe shouldn't play football. He should play Hockey. THAT'S a man's sport :D
ReplyDeleteJoking aside, how old is your boy? If he's like 5 can they even play that young? If he's in high school I think you need to sit him down--tell him your concerns, lay all the dangers out, and then trust the decision he makes
Teen mom >>> wonder years
ReplyDelete#NotTrollingIfIBelieveIt
Situation... Comedy...or am I wrong? I dunno I'm not a fan
ReplyDeleteIn the end jobbers will always let you down
ReplyDeleteIt was more of a dramedy if anything. It didn't have a laugh track, and it's goal wasn't always to be funny.
ReplyDeleteIt just happened to be 30 minutes long.
Yeah but 163-0
ReplyDeleteNot following.
ReplyDeleteThere really weren't a lot of situations involved.
ReplyDeleteHe's 12 in middle school. It's a bit more complicated than that. The Mrs. said no and he's trying to get me to go behind her. On one hand she's right, but it's still tough trying to shed the "rub some dirt on it" mentality my dad taught me.
ReplyDeleteGoldberg, as in Bill
ReplyDeleteOh. Whoops. I keep hoping he cameos.
ReplyDeleteI brought this up today to some people and they said battle star glattica. I've never seen it and I'm not really a star trek guy but I was told the show is great and the ending rules and all episodes are on Netflix. I'm skeptical because these same two people said sliver linnings playbook was better than the master but they also put me up on party down a year ago so maybe it is good. What's the thought around here about it.
ReplyDeleteAlso that reminds the last episode of party down was fucking cool with the guy going to the audition. Party down didn't get ,much buzz when it was on but its hysterical.
Don't expect a big story arc. It's a pretty episodic series that slowly leads to something.
ReplyDeleteLarry Sanders show...best 30 minute comedy that Larry David didn't do. (Or Jerry Seinfeld, I'm not gonna act like season 8 and 9 of Seinfeld wasnt full of classic episodes) and the ending of the show is fantastic
ReplyDeleteMy top 3 hottest teen moms
ReplyDelete3. McKenzie
2. Farrah
1. Jenelle evans
That's what I've heard. Might be for the better. The OTHER 1990's anime that everyone jizzed themselves over That I hadn't seen was Evangelion. It was my 100th completed series and I can honestly say fuck Eva. The first 8 episodes are trash, the last 2 are trash. Gah. Bring on the episodic
ReplyDeleteBro...Just...No...
ReplyDeleteDang Jethro
ReplyDeleteYeesh, not enviable. I'm 18 and (thankfully) a long way off from being a dad, so my advice is coming from the out my ass department.
ReplyDeleteGoodluck, hopefully you find a resolution that makes everyone happy
Who in their right mind would down vote this. M*A*S*H* is still the standard bearer for Dramedies! Hell for Television! Aged so well it's better then the shit on TV today!
ReplyDeleteSolid list. I was never been a big Macy guy. Lot of people might toss her in. Not me
ReplyDeleteCorrect
ReplyDeleteThat's where a lot of my advice comes from also so your are on the right track.
ReplyDeleteI loved Eva when I was younger. End of Eva was a better ending but the series just doesn't hold up.
ReplyDeleteGreat show, great finale. Pretty ahead of its time too
ReplyDeleteI know they did the 150th episode, but he's back on earth?
ReplyDeleteEverybody bitches that only Ben didn't cross over at the end of LOST, but it was by his choice. Sitting on the bench and "I'll just stay here for a minute." was a great poignant moment.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite series finales are Friends and That 70s Show.
