Ryback in the Doghouse?
Multiple sources have told Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com that Ryback has major heat on him for several reasons. One reason is that he has not improved in the ring, with some feeling that he has actually regressed. Another reason is that he has been injuring people in the ring, with CM Punk as his latest casualty. Punk was hurt this past RAW and as a result, was written off this week's Smackdown (Johnson wrote that he heard a rumor that Punk was injured after RAW on Tuesday but said he was awaiting confirmation on a second source before reporting it as legit). And finally, Ryback has heat on him from the office due to his poor attitude during company events. One source believed that he wouldnt be surprised at all if Ryback was dropped as a Paul Heyman guy.

TNA Bringing in New Talent
At this point, TNA is looking to bring in wrestlers. Word is that they might reach out to former "Gut Check" contestants and recently released WWE talent, with the hope of giving them a new gimmick like the did with Ethan Carter

Anytime I heard Ryback talk he comes off like an asshole. I thought it might be in character but maybe not.
ReplyDeleteFuck Shawne Merriman. Throw as much money aa possible at Tim Tebow, repackage him as Kurt Angles original dorky 3 Is character and watch the money pile up. That would be the funnest character to boo, EVER!!
ReplyDeleteI've been saying for months that Ryback looks like the least safest worker in the history of wrestling. I find it hilarious that they keep pairing him with Punk, who's probably one of the more banged up guys on the roster.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, they put Punk in a TLC match with Ryback immediately after he recovered from knee surgery, less than a month before his match with the Rock.
Oh TNA. You can't even send your Champ to the top promotion in Japan, because you fucked THAT up, so a third-rate one will have to do.
ReplyDeleteAt least it's not All Japan?
Hey! That's precious cargo, buddy - take it easy, you shaved ape!
ReplyDeleteCould he actually play an effective heel though? Dude seems way too nice
ReplyDeleteYeah WWE loves doing that for some reason. They did the same thing with Edge which probably led to his early retirement.
ReplyDeleteHe does seem like a legit nice guy. Have him play the dorky, pretentious, moral moral authority figure like Angle did and hed be gold.
ReplyDeleteNothing says PG like a roided up woman beater. Lights out!
ReplyDeleteI love it, Tebow is a freak athlete like Angle and would learn quickly.
ReplyDeleteYea, no doubt hed be good in the ring and hes smart enough to "get it."
ReplyDeleteThey ought to pull a Rude-Warrior where he works with someone who can legit mess him up to teach him manners. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of legit badasses to my knowledge.
ReplyDeleteThe 2nd coming of Goldberg is an unsafe worker?!?! What do you call it when something is the opposite of ironic?
ReplyDeletewell, uh, if they turn Ryback face, I can think of one guy who could probably mess him up and is besties with heyman.
ReplyDeleteor, you know, just send him down to nxt till he gets his shit together.
Yeah, I was just coming to correct that. It's a shame he's not on a full-time deal where they could do a program.
ReplyDeleteKnowing WWE they would try to give him some ridiculous NXT name like Winston Jefferson.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that ironic?
ReplyDeleteSee? More proof that these news sites are full of shit. Ryback couldn't fit in a doghouse!
ReplyDeleteHe is on the doghouse. Like Snoopy.
ReplyDeleteI loved it when Paul Heyman would go to kick the football, but that pesky CM Punk snatched it out of the way.
ReplyDeleteDon't you think?
ReplyDeleteHow about an angle where a remorseful Ryback constantly refers to himself as "stupid" and repeatedly abuses himself as punishment? A character ALL the kids can relate to.
ReplyDeleteIt's like rain on your wedding day.
ReplyDeleteIt's a free ride, when you've already pain.
It's some good advice, that you just didn't take.
Does Alanis Morissette see the irony here?
Good grief.
ReplyDelete*waah wah wah wahahahwawa*
ReplyDeleteYes ma'am, Mrs. Helmsley.
Utter reality?
ReplyDeleteShe should be killed for that song.
ReplyDeleteHe sure is a merry man, though.
ReplyDelete.......
Merriman has two wellness strikes already. That was fast.
ReplyDeleteI think her career is dead enough that I'm satisfied.
ReplyDeleteHa. Im embarassed for having laughed out loud at this.
ReplyDeleteJust stick Ryback in a tag team. He's not ready to be a top guy and may never be. And that's fine. Give him someone like Mark Henry, Big E Langston, Antonio Cesaro, or some other big dude and let them be a bully tag team. His bully character isn't bad, he's just too one-dimensional to stay in the main event
ReplyDeleteAh come on! I wanna kill somebody!
ReplyDelete"The tremendous theologian, Tim, the terminator, Tebooooooow!!"
ReplyDeleteADR...
ReplyDeleteIt's like rain on a rainy day
ReplyDeleteIt's like goin crazy when you're already NUTS!
Don't be. Word play humour is never not funny.
ReplyDeleteI always forget that he could legit shoot on someone.
ReplyDeleteWhat would the 3 Ts be? I assume they wouldn't copy the gimmick that closely but if they did, I mean.
ReplyDeleteIt's possible their deal with NJPW has fallen through, and Muta's brand is probably better over there than AJPW, anyway. Go fig, this specific part of the story (AJ defends elsewhere while TNA crowns an "interim" champ) isn't bad.
ReplyDelete"Tebow, Sandow. Sandow, Tebow."
ReplyDeleteEveryone forgets that.
ReplyDeleteI love ADR, but man is he overlooked/ignored/not that about.
TNA's strategy is reaching out for more WWE retreads? Hasn't this been their strategy for the better part of a decade with no tangible results?
ReplyDeleteTebow wouldn't sign with the WWE no matter how much money they offered him.
ReplyDeleteTebow has shown absolutely no interest in pro wrestling.
ReplyDeleteIt's just like fantasy booking of CM Punk, except with a guy and title nobody cares about.
ReplyDeleteThey need fresh talent. And anyone with even half a brain is going to try out with the WWE first. The best ones will at least have been given a shot. There's a big difference between getting some unknown who got released from developmental vs. bringing in RVD or Jeff Hardy. It's stupid to avoid a guy just because he may have appeared on a few episodes of NXT.
ReplyDeleteOr being a good NFL QB.
ReplyDeleteI thought some snafu when the Dudley's where IWGP tag champs brought about the end of TNA and NJPW's working relationship, but i'm far too lazy to look right now. And yeah, Wrestle 1 SEEMS viable, I didn't realize it was Mutoh and most of the AJPW roster.
ReplyDeleteBuzzkill.
ReplyDeletefunny that you know who he is and which title he's holding
ReplyDeleteAnd? That doesn't mean I care or will watch. I know who Justin Bieber is too. That doesn't mean I'm going to his concert.
ReplyDeleteWhenever anyone tells Ryback stories, he always comes off sounding like a meathead idiot. No surprise that a guy like that would get in the doghouse for various stupid things.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason when I think of Tim Tebow in WWE I think of Dustin Runnels circa 1998.
ReplyDeleteTheology, Teamwork, Trust
ReplyDeleteWhy don't they job Ryback to everyone in the midcard like they do to everyone else.
ReplyDeletecorrection: it's like RAAAAAAAAAAAA-AAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIII-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAINNNNNNNNN!
ReplyDelete(ears commit harakiri)
As I said elsewhere, this is smart on the part of TNA. Let AJ wrestle in different promotions. They might even be able to get an interesting DVD out of it.
ReplyDeleteThat is what the WWE should have done with Punk, but they got Nash involved.
Didn't he do that to Sin Cara when he called to stop the match? The shots he was hitting him with looked kind of stiff.
ReplyDeleteNah, He'd be the Blue Blazer. (before he dided) or Backlund's character.
ReplyDeleteSee? Now I picture him dressed like Robin Hood with his Merry Men around him singing.
ReplyDeleteSubstitute Turnovers for Trust and I believe you.
ReplyDeleteAll of his shots look stiff.
ReplyDeleteAnd ADR and Sin Cara know each other back in Mexico (number two and number one face, respectively) so maybe they have a bond from there? Or maybe there's animosity...
Yeah he's a TNA diehard.
ReplyDeleteY'know...Tim Tebow in the WWE would...ah, never mind. Guy makes no sense to me whatsoever.
ReplyDelete
