This is a match that's gotten around on the net in the past few months and is probably on one of HHH's DVDs. Here is the "authority" on WCW Saturday Night as Jean-Paul Levesque taking on the great Ricky Steamboat. FWIW I was looking for a JPL-Sting match but couldn't find one. Can't find a Sting/Mean Mark match either. Fucking WCW man, all these dream matches and they never took 'em.
Anyway I'm curious to hear what you guys think about this one.

The Nash one is good... I'd love the Beefcake 89 one but I'm guessing it gets no votes.
ReplyDeleteMini TJ...has anyone seen the History of WWE DVD yet? I lliked it ALOT but just wished it was a little longer.
That doc was amazing. I also wished it was longer but for 2 hours, it was a miracle they were able to do the job they did with it.
ReplyDeleteThere is a Kane vs Sting match from the early 90s on youtube.
ReplyDeleteAs long as Steamboat is alive, the possibility exists.
ReplyDeleteNot a bad match; the finish felt a bit out of nowhere. I did appreciate that once an shoulder injury was established, Steamboat didn't really use that arm again for any offense. He did love him some headlocks early on though. Still, worth watching. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWho said he would try to pin Steamboat at his funeral. It's not like he's never done repulsive shit in caskets before, Isn't it?
ReplyDeleteHell, even if Steamboat was cremated I see him dragging a ref to the front of the church pouring the contents on the floor and forcing the ref to count while he lay on top of the ashes.
To top it off, he'd force the old bitch on the pipe organ to play his theme music.
And have the Blood family confess that this was best for business.
ReplyDeleteSounds like WM40.
ReplyDeleteAnd actually, I'd kind of like to hear the theme on a church organ.
Jean-Paul Levesque, master of "Le Knee."
ReplyDeleteAcknowledging who Steamboat actually is while he uses this entrance takes it from ridiculous to amazing. And has there ever been a better instance of "music improvement?" He'd been using "Family Man" before this.
ReplyDeleteSolid B+
ReplyDeleteNot only that, Steamboat beat HHH, Jericho beat Steamboat....
ReplyDeleteI guess we have solved the mystery of the Wrestlemania main event.
ReplyDeleteThere also was definitely at least one Sting/Mean Mark match from Sting's 1st WCW title reign. The closest I could come to finding it though was a dead youtube link.
ReplyDeleteNot only that but Undertaker also lost a casket match to....Goldust at IYH: Beware of Dog. Funny how that one slipped his mind, especially.
ReplyDeleteYea Goldust mentioned that. And how can we forget HBK? He beat Taker at Royal Rumble
ReplyDeleteIt's tough that a reasonably talented guy, with family connections, a decent work ethic, and who kept his nose more or less clean can still end up in such tough shape.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy that he's getting his current run, and I hope that he can make the most of it.
... um, Dustin IS Goldust...
ReplyDeleteGood, I actually ordered that and the MidSouth Blu-Ray last night, using Foley's promo code during RAW
ReplyDeleteI thought another poster bit the dust...haven't seen you around in awhile...
ReplyDeleteI've been here off and on, just been kind of busy. I was on the road a bit.
ReplyDeleteI caught up on a couple of threads last night - saw Caliber's one shot deal, and read the odd babykiller QOTD.
