WWE Network Rumors
According to one source, the WWE is thinking about using WrestleMania as a lure to get people to sign up for the network. The plan would have them market the idea to fans that they would get WrestleMania "for free" if they signed up for the network. The monthly price for the network has been talked about being anywhere between $9.95-$14.95.

WWE Network -> Don't think I'd spend that much a month on a WWE network, if it was a streaming service with full access to the WWE archives I would though.
ReplyDeleteBatista -> Not coming back, just happened to be in town and visited.
Rey -> Umm why rush him back with all the injury issues he's had?
TNA -> Wow with the way Strongs bridges had been burned from his last time with the company a little surprised by this.
Shoot -> Should be a good watch.
To WWE: ANYONE you ask Rey to come back at this point, it'll be considered
ReplyDeleteWas Feinstein cleared of the perverted justice stuff? Guys keep doing interviews for him, which is odd if he hasn't cleared his name.
ReplyDeleteWell the Feinstein thing never led to an actual arrest or crime committed,
ReplyDeleteThe Network deal from the newsletter is kind of confusing, as Dave talks about them somehow bundling with Netflix, which I don't understand. Others who speak Meltzer-ese more fluidly than I are also a bit confused by what he was trying to say, but it seems to be that WWE seems to think they can somehow attach themselves to Netflix as a distributor and thus get both PS3 and Xbox platforms to carry them. This would seem to be wishful thinking on their part, but who knows what the original intent was.
ReplyDeleteI saw that too but after re-reading that convoluted mess of a paragraph from this week's Observer, it seems like they might consider it a streaming option, like Netflix, because I do not know how you could get it as part of the Netflix package. I am thinking that Meltzer was confused when writing that paragraph, as figuring out technology does not seem to be his strong suit. If I coul make sense of that paragraph, I would have posted it in the update.
ReplyDeleteWow TNA, way to try to find more talent right after you double down on shitty 90s booking.
ReplyDeleteI read that also, and it seemed that Meltzer was trying to explain how it would have a streaming option...not a bundle Netflix option. However, I could be off base on this, considering that I was also confused on that part
ReplyDeleteI assume they know this ppv is the drizzly shits, so they're just throwing whatever cards they got at it to see if they can magic a decent number out of it?
ReplyDeleteYou cant work a high-flying style when your knees are shot. He is going to have a lot of trouble moving around when he is older.
ReplyDeleteI never heard anything once he left ROH so I wasn't sure of the situation. With all the tabloid sensationalism and entrapment allegations against "To Catch a Predator", it's hard to get a clear idea of what went on.
ReplyDeleteEven his 2K14 character model looks a bit worse for wear.
ReplyDeleteYea. This fact, along with not wanting to see him suffer another injury and not thinking he's much of a draw anymore just makes me wish he'd hang it up.
ReplyDeleteHis name is probably not as strong as it used to be because of how long he's been gone, but don't sleep on how popular Rey is. For the longest time he was absolutely HUGE amongst kids, and he's big in the Latino markets which are a big slice of their fanbase. He was the eternal #2 merch seller behind Cena for a reason.
ReplyDeleteRoddy's a good wrestler but what can TNA really do with him? He can't cut a promo, and he looks as nondescript as a wrestler can. About the only course would be to put him and Aries back together and let A Double do the talking.
ReplyDeleteWho even makes sense for TNA, that they could get? I'm assuming most of the Bullet club guys wouldn't go, because there isn't much financial incentive, and they're getting a lot of attention. I guess if they changed their rules so dudes could be in PWG, they might be able to get a few of the dudes frustrated with Cornette's shit in ROH, but who even makes sense for them? Tommaso Ciampa? it just seems like a narrow list of guys who are young enough to bother with, aren't just going to turn you down because they're eventually hoping for a WWE call up, and aren't Kevin Steen.
ReplyDeleteYeah yeah keep downvoting me, Dixie. You're not getting the pipe again with that attitude.
ReplyDeleteLOL again at the WWE Network. That would cost more per month than HBO! Or the sports package I get with like 10 different channels, including NFL RedZone.
ReplyDeleteI'd be SHOCKED if the Network ever launches. I think this may be the 3rd WrestleMania in a row they have discussed a launch.
Rey and Christian, who are both 2 guys that I enjoy watching in the ring, should just hang it up. They both had good runs but what's the point of coming back to preform if your just going to get injured again two months later?
ReplyDeleteOh WWE, your biggest mistake with this network project was when you announced it 2 years ago...
ReplyDeleteA Netflix type of platform is really the best and only way to go for this network. I just don't see a regular network like MLB working out.
ReplyDeleteThat'd be wild to see. YIKES!
