I'm picking up the ball tonight, fellas.
It's a little late, and you guys are threadjacking, so have at 'er.
College football, Bellew vs. Stevenson on HBO, other assorted happenings, or maybe you just want to post something random.

Here's something random: Amy Poehler and the rest of the Parks and Rec gang being awesome (as usual.)

I am (with this comment) seven away from hitting 1,000. I'm very excited, but I know I'm still a very long way from the Top Commenter club. I need to start taking part in more live threads.
ReplyDeleteHey look at that you are already more useful as a main page guy than OfficeFarva!
ReplyDeleteThey really pile up quickly in the live threads. 100- 200 is a real possibility
ReplyDeleteYeah, I only stuck around for half of Raw last week and managed 50 or so comments. Plus, the show was a lot more bearable that way.
ReplyDeleteWay too many evening events the next few weeks. Holiday parties and shmoozing cocktails will keep me away from my computer until after Christmas.
Having a life... what a concept
ReplyDeletePlane just landed. Holy shit auburn beat Alabama in classic it looks like. Sucks I missed that
ReplyDeleteI'd honestly rather be home doing nothing, I hate being sociable, but it's part of the job.
ReplyDeleteJust came from watching a GREAT fucking Auburn/Alabama game while eye-fucking my ex-girlfriends' friend. Who says guys can't multi-task?
ReplyDeleteAlabama should have kicked the field goal on the 4th and 1. It would have put them up 10.
ReplyDeletePaul Walker died
ReplyDeleteThose fries won't super-size themselves. j/k
ReplyDeleteIrony is that it was a car accident.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting screwed here, my old account still comes in at #16, even though I haven't been able to use it since July. Add in the posts I've made with this account and I should be #6 or #7.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was another death hoax at first, because I saw it on Facebook 30 minutes ago...and well, you know Facebook. I Googled it and didn't find anything until just 5 minutes ago.
ReplyDeleteI had an old account and I wish I could combine the two.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that took away a bunch of comments for me, too, when I switched over from using one user to another, but nowhere near THAT many. But I'd be well-past 1,000 and coming up on two.
ReplyDeleteWonder if that means more short term Rock if they have to postpone whichever fast and furious they're up to
ReplyDeleteDude, you know I'm on burger-flipping duty! The fries are too advanced for me.
ReplyDeletehttp://youtu.be/w70RQLtdVeU
ReplyDeleteIt's on Google news now. That's a pretty terrible way to go.
ReplyDeleteComing to America or I hate you
ReplyDeleteWhere do you go to see that?
ReplyDeleteI just saw a clip of the end of it. Fucking INSANE.
ReplyDeleteI sure would like to POLE HER... get it? It sounds like her name! I bet no one has ever thought of that before!
ReplyDeleteFull details: http://www.rickey.org/paul-walker-dead-40-following-car-crash/
ReplyDeleteNot trying to be insensitive but... who?
ReplyDeleteI'm reading there was a death hoax just a day or so ago, his publicist denied the story, and then he goes out and dies for real.
ReplyDeleteNon-Vin Diesel Fast and Furious actor. Liked him in 8 Below though
ReplyDeleteAre Chris and Braden OK?!?
ReplyDeleteNone of the legit news sites have it yet... neither does Fox
ReplyDeleteEh, enough "connected people" on twitter are latching onto it that I'm confident it's true. Like the dig on Fox though
ReplyDeleteAnyone watching Texas A&M vs. Mizzou?
ReplyDeleteSo Ron Burgundy was on my local news tonight.
ReplyDeleteAs in one of the anchors...in person.
ReplyDeleteI am. Some awful unis on both teams.
ReplyDeleteI never miss an opportunity to shit on Fox... I mean Meghan Fox also
ReplyDeleteHow did my ex find out about this site and why is she downvoting me?
ReplyDeleteWell, that's probably how she got at least half her roles
ReplyDeleteI JUST asked everyone else in the world if this is true. Yep, you are the first.

ReplyDeleteThat is remarkable response time you have there
ReplyDeleteClick on "Community" at the top of the comments, it shows the top 20.
ReplyDeleteYes.
ReplyDeleteMost of life's answers can be found in that movie.
I live in "Aggieland", and people here bitched about their grey road jerseys last week at LSU. "But our traditional colors are maroon and white". This place is so steeped in tradition, it's silly.
ReplyDeleteThank god I didn't know that was there while I was climbing the ranks
ReplyDeleteIt appears you've created separation from flair4dagold.
ReplyDeleteWhen I cracked the top 5 I didn't even know it until someone else told me,
ReplyDeleteYou were top 5 at one point weren't you? You and Zanadude swapped the spot for a while
ReplyDeletePretty sure that was me
ReplyDeleteI intend to create more as the BoD rolls on
ReplyDeleteGraduated from A&M two years ago. If we had any sort of defense we would be scary good.
ReplyDeleteThere is a Star Wars marathon that's halfway done. I'm very indifferent about it.
ReplyDeleteI can't take all the credit. I downloaded the WWE App and asked the universe.
ReplyDeleteWell those gray uniforms did look like crap
ReplyDeleteBetter than most of the Oregon unis.
ReplyDeleteI didn't mind them so much. I was glad they broke from tradition.
ReplyDeleteEarlier this year, the City decided to take down the Wendy's in Queens that served as McDowell's.
ReplyDeleteAnd you didn't need instructions on how? Are you a SORCERER?
ReplyDeleteAnd Saban argued for that remaining :01!
ReplyDeleteI think shirts and pants the same color almost always looks bad. And both of these teams are doing it...
ReplyDeleteThis fucking sucks. RIP Paul Walker.
ReplyDeleteThat is pretty neat. I only watched parts of the link you posted. I don't think Ferrell has much on his fastball anymore, so to speak. I guess you can say that for a lot of ex-SNL stars after their initial 5-7 year boom period.
ReplyDeleteDana Carvey, Eddie Murphy, Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, Ferrell, Mike Myers--it's almost like they forgot how to be funny.
Bill Murray remains immune, however.
Yeah, mostly thanks to my ROH reviews, where I would respond to any comment, I figured that would keep people coming back to read them.
ReplyDeleteMy original #16 account was through G+, and for some reason Disqus won't let you sign in with that anymore. I'm at about 6,000 between the two.
Funny. Would be funnier if he didn't play the same damned character in everything.
ReplyDeleteAfter my Madden game I'm going to have to watch the first Fast and Furious.
ReplyDeleteCome to think of it, I'm pretty sure it was you, and I think that was when I realized "hey, as long as we're not talking about drug laws, this guy is alright".
ReplyDeleteUgh. They're showing the Pacquiao/Rios suckfest.
ReplyDeleteLOL glad I was able to turn it around.
ReplyDeleteWhat *doesn't* look better than most of those abominations?
ReplyDeleteI didn't even think the first Anchorman was that funny. But to watch it live was pretty neat.
ReplyDeleteYou seen the Maryland unis? UnderArmour tried to do something similar with their stuff and failed.
ReplyDeletehttp://ll-media.tmz.com/2013/11/30/1130-paul-walker-accident-scene-twitter-3.jpg
ReplyDeleteJust reading the details now... really fucking sad. Not sure if I read it right or not, but he was letting people test drive his car (with Walker in the passenger seat) in exchange for donations to a charity helping out victims in the Philippines when it may have occurred. That's just fucking horrible.
ReplyDeleteReally, now that I think about it the only thing we really disagree on is marijuana.
ReplyDeleteNot that there was anything they could have done at that point, but really skeezy of the paparazzi to photograph that and tmz to post it
ReplyDeleteThe Zamundans really know how to keep women in their correct place.
ReplyDeleteLook at this shit:
ReplyDeletehttp://youtu.be/tkUOWBPrHd4
I'll usually let it run in the background, but it seems like Spike's running it into the ground on any old holiday now. Still watch a bunch of Twilight Zones because sci-fi keeps it dedicated to just 4th of July and new years
ReplyDeleteFirst Jason Kidd, then Mike Tomlin, now Kevin McHale:
ReplyDeletehttp://youtu.be/cwSyO8ScwiY
I miss the Godfather marathons.
ReplyDeleteThread jack: How did Alps get the keys to the blog?
ReplyDeleteOld man Keith was taking an afternoon nap and Stranger took them and snuck out the back
ReplyDeleteThey just had one on AMC 2 days ago.
ReplyDeleteDon't quote me but I think AMC ran the Godfathers last week, maybe Tuesday-ish? Like how they handle that too, not running it into the ground so when they do bring it out, it's worth a watch. They've gotten a lot better since they started running their own shows, before that Shawshank was on way too much (And Shawshank's on my top 5)
ReplyDeleteThat's what happens when you meet a stranger in the Alps.
ReplyDelete...like I said, I miss Godfather marathons.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing when he posted the other day... I fucked with him about it and got downvoted all to hell
ReplyDeleteSpeaking about running stuff into the ground, what about ABC Family and the Harry Potter films? They promoted running the last one today. Now they can play all of them whenever they want.
ReplyDeleteThis is really about to become a thing now.
ReplyDeleteI am giving consideration to asking Scott to take over QOTD... though I would play with the format a bit.
ReplyDeleteThat's why I stayed away from commenting on that.
ReplyDeleteLuckily for Ferrell, he's been going 10 years strong.
ReplyDeleteI have posting privileges. Think about that for a moment.
ReplyDeleteGlad you went there even with me just saying "back" instead of "backdoor"
ReplyDeleteDefense with another 4th Quarter meltdown and Johnny playing hurt... I'm gonna need a bunch of drinks after this
ReplyDeleteI actually think what would be cool is a podcast featuring different contributors each week.
ReplyDeleteI think we know how strict the BoD's wellness system is then
ReplyDeleteMe and you should split it.
ReplyDeleteI have PC access and a credit card...
ReplyDeleteI can pass an MLB drug test!
ReplyDeleteNever trust a man with the name Amsterdam, because you'll be checking for drugs everyday.
ReplyDeleteI can see that.
ReplyDeleteQOTD is just a DOA concept I think... there is only so much shit you can ask everyday and it is a real chore for one person to think of something new everyday and not get repetitive or just plain stupid, and we have already had 2 of them meltdown (I think we can safely call Meekin a meltdown at this point) I think it should just be reduced to a as needed basis (like the way OfficeFarva does What If?) and should be a random thought of the day instead so "Topic X: I have always thought blah blah blah... now your turn... GO"
I could be made of 100% pure heroin like an X-Man character and I could pass that.
ReplyDeleteEspecially if I her 40 - 50 home runs a year.
Replace meet with find.
ReplyDelete*slow clap*... Hey, you got the joke I was making with my name!
ReplyDeleteThis is seriously like Ewan McGregor getting killed by a lightsaber
ReplyDeleteI'd make the BoD look like a VIctoria's Secret catalog.
ReplyDeleteI think even a video cast or something would be cool.
ReplyDeleteBecause you have to keep it PG-13?
ReplyDeleteThe side effects of seeing Harold and Kumar 2 one too many times.
ReplyDeleteUnless we do it like other countries and have nudity after 10PM, yes.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise this place will be shut down very quickly.
ReplyDeleteA daily wrestling and non-wrestling thread would do just fine.
ReplyDeleteDid Meekin really have a meltdown or did he just kind of get too busy? Did he have a regular job but then just recently got some part-time gig with some website or internet company in addition to the previous job?
ReplyDeletePeople did give him crap for a Stevie Richards joke, so there's that.
ReplyDeleteIDK... I just thought Welkergate then disappearing while circumstantial, is sufficient evidence of a meltdown.
ReplyDeleteThere's always haters and if not from within than No Penis Provided.
ReplyDeleteI could get on board with that... that way it isn't to big of a burden on either of us etc...
ReplyDeleteIts a shame the message board was such a flop I think a lot of the conversation here would be handled a lot better in that fashion as opposed to clogging up the main page.
Which is what we are doing right now.
ReplyDeleteDunno if it's been gone over already but RIP Paul Walker.
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious, but I always did the ROH reviews totally sober.
ReplyDeleteBasically, I gave him an idea for a recap of an indy fed's TV show, he gave me a tryout and he decided it went well enough to give me posting rights. I was only going to use those rights for my reviews, but saw a hole tonight where the Saturday night thread should have been, and contributed.
ReplyDeleteUnlike the Cucch and Ry the Murph
ReplyDeleteFYI, I've never downvoted you on anything. You da man, 'llax.
ReplyDeleteTo answer what Mick said below, we should just have a go nuts thread. Where all of the post seem to be on some sort of agenda, their should be one where people go and talk about anything.....Never mind, I just realized how stupid I sounded.
ReplyDeleteSomething like that. But I don't sneak anywhere. I teleport.
ReplyDeleteit was covered fast and furiously.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty much how me and Kyle Warne got put on, we emailed Scott a ROH review, he liked it and gave us privileges.
ReplyDeleteIf your doing Indy stuff, check out the now gone, but still good, Pro Wrestling Ohio/ Prime Wrestling and tell me what you think.
ReplyDeletePaul Walker was cool because I feel like he was of our generation. He isn't someone baby boomers would care about. People who were teenagers in the 90's and such know about him. Great actor, I loved Fast and Furious and he died doing a good deed. Life is fleeting and this is a difficult one to swallow.
ReplyDeleteI see what you did there.
ReplyDeletePaul Walker died?
ReplyDeleteYes, that was some good stuff--a nice mix indie darlings and absurd characters. They actually had me hooked for a few months before they stopped abruptly a year ago.
ReplyDelete3 that bad huh.
ReplyDeleteRyan Murphy has posting privileges and while he's funny there's ways the possibility of him having a few too many.
ReplyDelete"Do you think I'm a punching bag?" - Brandon Rios
ReplyDeleteYes. Yes I do.
Can you help a poor person out and let me know when the main event starts? No tengo HBO
ReplyDeleteDougie and Jesse Baker share mod duties for the day or GTFO.
ReplyDeleteThey actually were still going up until this August, they had their big Wrestlelution show about a month ago. They would have still been on TV, but when Fox Sports bought STO, wrestling wasn't in their plans.
ReplyDeleteI caught those on Sports Time Ohio, good stuff. Gregory Irons rules.
ReplyDeleteI love how Jessie posts things and Dougie is there a few minutes later with a "lol" or asking Jesse to get some psychiatric help. I could swear Dougie is just stalking him through the computer and waiting for him to post.
ReplyDeleteDougie is such a baller yet Jesse Baker is his big enemy in life.
ReplyDeleteHeck yeah, of course when he had his match with Zack Gowen, the little Cartman in my head couldn't stop thinking, "Cripple Fight!"
ReplyDeleteThat's not fair... I've hit a punching bag hard enough that it hit me back before
ReplyDeleteWell said.
ReplyDeleteReally? Damn. I was mostly following them through their YouTube station and then they stopped putting updates last fall. I don't know if they switched youtube channels or what happened. I just know that I was craving an indie promotion with wrestlers willing to take chances in terms of character development. They were it. I thought they were succeeding in what they were setting out to accomplish.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how Michael Buffer can handle announcing in several languages but fucked up Bret Hart's name by calling him "Bret 'Hitman' Clark".
ReplyDelete:: BRO HUG ::
ReplyDeleteSo I'm watching Star Wars on Spike TV (which is INFINITELY STUPID since I have the movies on Blu-Ray) and I feel sorry for a kid today who sees these movies and watches them "in order." The best moment of the ENTIRE SERIES is "Luke, I AM your father" and if you watch 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 you're going to say, "Well, DUH" and not get why that was such a huge moment! So if you were introducting your child to Star Wars, how would you do it? I've seen this online: 4, 5, 2, 3, 6. There's not really anything necessary in 1, and actually 2 is pretty terrible up until the big fight. "Your skin is smooth, not like the sand" and whatever else that whiny bitch Annikin was up to in that 2nd movie. Anyway, I wish Spike was showing them this way.
ReplyDeleteWhat are your thoughts on 3? I really love that movie, including the epic duel fights between Palpatine/Yoda and Annakin/Obi-Wan.
You know what else? WRESTLING needs a good rookie-turns-on-mentor angle. We haven't had one of those in a long time.
I didn't think they interacted with each other… I though Scott was saving their interactions for WrestleMania season.
ReplyDeleteIt was really hard to screw up 3, but I still thought they came damn close with any scene with Christenson and Portman. It was good, but I think I've only watched it twice...compared to the dozen or so times I've watched the original trilogy.
ReplyDelete-1 Because fuck them
ReplyDeleteI'm about to start the PWG Matt Rushmore show. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess the average rating of the matches on this show will be at least as good as the best match at Survivor Series ( 5 on 5 match at about *** 1/2 or so?)
ReplyDeleteIts ok, hes no relation to me... especially now. Too soon?
ReplyDeleteWell comparing the original trilolgy to the new trilogy is kind of unfair. Episode 3 is the only one coming close to anything in the original trilolgy, and I'd extend that to anything involving Christenson PERIOD, excpet when he's the soulless killing machine. He does that so well I'd be frightened if I knew him, since his acting is so bad everywhere else. Given a choice, I'd probably watch 3 before I'd watch 6.
ReplyDeleteIts always after 10pm somewhere AMIRITE?
ReplyDeleteYeah, they had everything going for them, they did a great job with the growth of Gargano, they gave us a fantastic character in Krimson, and they had fans all over the US ( they had fans from the Dakotas come to their Wrestlelution show), but yeah, stuff happens. They still have a YouTube channel, it's Prime Wrestling. Nothing new has been added but they still have full episodes.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I have been to 1 WWE live event and 2 Prime/ PWO events. I had more fun at those shows than I did at a WWE one.
Big E - Mark Henry.
ReplyDeleteCucch who is 100% lying about nailing the broad from his story
ReplyDeleteBOOK. THAT. SHIT.
ReplyDeleteSons of Michigan!
ReplyDeleteMurphy should absolutely not be a MOD... he is a poor representation of the blog, and abuses ban power... if he were a regular poster he'd be fine, annoying but fine... but him being a mod is not a choice I agree with.
ReplyDeleteIt's about to start now.
ReplyDeleteAaron Maguire "Pardon the interrupten"
ReplyDeletePersonally, I would show the kid 4-6, then say "That's it. That was the greatest trilogy of all time right there."
ReplyDeleteSet that one on a tee for you
ReplyDeleteAlso, why do they go out of their way in the remakes to have Greedo shoot first? Han's a smuggler and a criminal, he's not virtuous. And they still show Han discretely getting his gun out… just because Greedo shoots first doesn't take away from Han's plan to shoot Greedo anyway!
ReplyDeleteI would tell them 3 - 6 and then tell them 1 and 2 were blooper reel/outtake type stuff.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Pretty devastating KO in the previous fight.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.nomachetejuggling.com/2011/11/11/the-star-wars-saga-suggested-viewing-order/
ReplyDeleteI was a little let down with the Palpatine/Yoda fight, I thought Yoda gave up way too quickly.
ReplyDeleteSo why was Jar Jar viewed as a racist character again?
ReplyDeleteI wish it was rated R or better so we could see him stacking up youngling corpses.
ReplyDeleteMeh the Yoda/Dooku fight is worth keeping around the 2nd one
ReplyDeleteSo just eliminate Ep 1? Got it.
ReplyDeletePeople are really fucking stupid.
ReplyDeleteAs long as we find a way to keep Maul around
ReplyDelete4-5-2-3-6 is my favorite order.
ReplyDeleteOK, Adonis Stevenson. Let's see what the hype is about.
ReplyDeleteHe apparently spoke with a Jamaican accent. Or something.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever heard of the opponent, though
ReplyDeleteHis opponent is tall as hell.
ReplyDeleteYeah. That was Roy's protege. He wasn't expecting to be off commentary that fast.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the crowd is chanting "Super Mex"
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had ANY good storylines in years!!
ReplyDeleteStevenson's looking decent so far, but oddly enough, I think Hopkins might be able to toy around with him a bit and pull off a narrow decision (if Hopkins doesn't land a superfight).
ReplyDeleteThey even said the junk dealer was racist too, as he had a thick Jewish accent and large hook nose. Everybody is too damn sensitive...that was 99! Imagine today sinceit has gotten worse.
ReplyDeleteThey need to substitute Jar Jar with Maul like WWE substitutes Benoit with Richards.
ReplyDeleteOK.
ReplyDeleteI've lived though YEARS of Star Wars hearing this: There was only one black person in all of the star systems...and he was a traitor. I mean my aunt told me there was a near riot at the movies when a white guy said, "I can't believe that n****r sold them out like that."
His opponent is slow. Not all that impressed with his work.
ReplyDeleteGood finisher, but I haven't seen anything that would think Bernard couldn't stop him.
ReplyDeleteSince there was Star Wars talk, has anyone ever seen this:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlFOiFLLd0g
Don't forget this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rL0wutsciS8
Agreed. There are a lot of holes in Stevenson's game that Bernard can exploit (that is, if Hopkins doesn't die of old age/natural causes first). It would make for an exciting and dramatic fight, though.
ReplyDeleteThis is where boxing pisses me off. Stevenson fought 4 times, won all four by KO (including winning the light-heavyweight title and beating his mandatory #1 contender and he's NOT considered the best boxer in his division??
ReplyDeleteActually HOW they edited the scene looked stupid.
ReplyDeleteWow. Glad I wasn't there.
ReplyDeleteIt just shows that boxing and Pro Wrestling are one in the same.
ReplyDelete"I like the water."
ReplyDelete
