The SmarK Rant for WWE NXT – 11.27.13
They are FAST with getting these up the past couple of weeks.
Taped from Orlando, FL
Your hosts are Tom Phillips, William Regal & Renee Young
Yoshi Tatsu v. Antonio Cesaro
Cesaro threatens poor Bryon Saxton before the match for accidentally stepping on his flag, prompting MR. WILLIAM REGAL to run down and give him a piece of his mind. Tatsu gets a rollup for two off that, but Cesaro proceeds to kicking his ass and hits a spinebuster into the GIANT SWING! The NXT crowd is all over that one, chanting “You are awesome”. Cesaro clobbers him with forearms and finishes him with a sleeper and NEUTRALIZER at 3:10. Cesaro spends the whole match making creepy eye contact with Regal, and you just know this is gonna pay off with something great. *
Bo Dallas lets us know that really, we’re all winners this week. Except that whoever wins the match is gonna lose. So in that sense not everyone is a winner. CJ Parker photobombs his interview to HARSH HIS MELLOW, and the match is signed for tonight. Bo disputes Parker’s accusations of shaking in his cowboy boots.
Bo Dallas v. CJ Parker
Bo pounds him with elbows as the crowd already gets on CJ with pro-Breeze chants. Bo with a short-arm clothesline for two. Parker escapes a cravat and makes the comeback with a running knee in the corner, and a DDT gets two. He goes up and Bo brings him down the hard way, and the BO-DOG finishes at 3:01. *1/2
Meanwhile, Emma has some head injuries, but she’ll be back better than ever. Paige thinks Emma might have deserved it, and Emma doesn’t like her tone. Why are these two not on the main roster yet?
Meanwhile, Paige continues snarking at people, this time with Nattie, leading to a title match tonight.
Tyler Breeze v. Kassius Ohno
Alexander Rusev wipes out poor Kassius before he even makes it into the ring, and that would seem to negate this match. The crowd chants “Breeze is gorgeous”, apparently not buying into the severity, and Ohno decides to risk the match. Breeze immediately lays him out with the Beauty Shot and pins him.
Meanwhile, Charlotte and the BFFs rate the super-hunks on Twitter, but Bayley interrupts and challenges them to a tag match. Like, as if.
The Ascension v. Hunico & Camacho
This would be non-title, I presume. Camacho pounds on Victor and adds a legdrop, and Hunico slingshots in for two. Crossbody gets two. Victor lays him out and brings in Conor, who pounds Hunico down for two. Hunico gets the heat in the corner, but cradles Victor for a surprise pin at 3:38. Which would set up a title match for them. Too short to be worth much, but I assume the payoff will be good and lengthy when they do their PPV-level show next week. *1/2
Sami Zayn v. Adrian Neville
Stalemate to start and Sami takes him down with armdrags, but Neville comes back with a rana to send Sami flying out of the ring. Sami sends him right back out and follows with a dive, and we take a break. Back with them trading chops, and Sami takes him down with a chinlock. Backbreaker gets two. Running knee misses and Zayn lands on the floor, which allows Neville to hit a MONSTER quebrada. Back in, Neville with a missile dropkick for two. Enzuigiri , but Sami catches the handspring elbow and powerbombs him for two. Michinoku driver gets two. Zayn charges and hits boot and both guys are goofy, but Neville gets a rana for two. It’s crazy how he snaps that off. To the top, but Zayn brings him down for a superplex, which Neville blocks. Red Arrow finishes at 15:30 to give him the title shot next week. As requested by the crowd, they hug it out. ***1/4
Next week: Bo Dallas v. Adrian Neville! The BFFs v. Bayley and a mystery partner! Nattie v. Paige!
The Pulse:
Another fun show, although the main event didn’t come off as epic on TV as it might have live. Sorry, Ripner. I anxiously await Cesaro v. Regal, though.
Hopefully the zayn vs Neville match goes up on YouTube soon

ReplyDelete"...hitting the ground like sacks of wet cement!"
NXT is where the faces are. Anyone who doesn't get behind Bayley needs a therapist.
ReplyDeleteWas it just me, or did anyone skip past the Dallas/Parker match?
ReplyDeleteZayn/Neville was not the Match of the Year, but it was still pretty good and allowed both guys to let go a bit more.
Devin Taylor did not look as typically clueless as most female interviewers pre-Paquette. This is probably a good thing, because this allows for more Renee on commentary.
Quick question...I live in Tampa, my gfs from Orlando. She said she'd go to a NXT show with me if I went to a Magic game with her when we go up there next month.
ReplyDeleteI check out NXT tix stuff online and it says they aernt in Full Sail again til May????? Does anyone know if this is correct? I'm guessing they tape tons of these at 1 time?
Looks like Jan 9 is the next taping:

Thanks for this. I'm not sure why I could find this schedule. They got a bunch in Tampa before that...even better.
ReplyDeleteEmma was trained by Storm? NXT came to my county fair one time and I saw her performed and she came off really really bad.
ReplyDeleteAnybody else wish Dusty was booking Raw right now? Would love to see what an old school guy could do with that roster.
ReplyDeleteI thought the gf was done?
ReplyDeleteOn his reality show he had Emma and The French Stallion who manages on NXT now.
