John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt Not in the Current Plans For WrestleMania?
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, he has not heard anything about Cena facing Wyatt against WrestleMania during the past month or so. At one point, the plan was for Wyatt to win the Rumble then face Cena for one of the World Titles but that was before the unification of the titles and the announcement of Batista signing with the company.

Hulk Hogan Update
Although he has not signed with the company yet, there have been several ideas tossed around in regards to his potential involvement at WrestleMania. One plan is for him to team with Cena against the Real Americans. Another plan is for him to face Roddy Piper in a legends match. Other plans include him being in the corner of Cena and for Piper to be involved on the opposing side of Hogan.

Original Plans for Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble
The original plans for Brock at the Rumble had him face the Big Show in a singles match. No word on whether or not this is still the case.

There is not one of those ideas I approve of
ReplyDeleteI love the shotgun reporting of the "news." Basically, if you report everything as a possibility, you can't be wrong.
ReplyDeleteIn his audio report, it seemed like Johnson was taking a shot at Meltzer, stating that he "didnt know where these rumors came from" in regards to all of the emails he received in the past few days about asking him about Wyatt vs. Cena as the Main Event at WM XXX.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is that in their creative meetings, they toss out a bunch of stuff and Vince probably considers it and those guys in creative report to guys like Meltzer and Johnson while Vince and only a select few others make the decisions in private, without those knowing until it happens
ReplyDeleteI heard from a guy who knows a guy who talked to this other guy that knows someone who is next door neighbors with someone in WWE Creative that:
ReplyDeleteHulk Hogan will be teaming in a wheelchair match with Mr. T against Roddy Piper and Bob Orton.
CM Punk will be wrestling a character they haven't debuted yet: The Choirmaster, who is a Gregorian Monk who has the ability to knock his opponents out by chanting the Agnus Dei.
Daniel Bryan will be in a mixed tag team match along with AJ Lee, and they're taking on Bray Wyatt and his partner, Katie Vick (who will be resurrected in storyline by Wyatt). Expect a run-in by Kane.
Undertaker vs. HHH IV is set to roll inside of a cage inside of Hell in a Cell inside of a shark tank.
They're bringing back Money in the Bank to WM, and it will feature Batista, Brock Lesnar, Rob Van Dam, The Rock, and Chris Jericho. The winner doesn't get a title shot. Instead, the briefcase will actually contain all of Vince McMahon's money, thus allowing the winner to leave the WWE for good.
Randy Orton will be wrestling Vince, Shane, Stephanie and Linda McMahon.
Finally, the main event will be "Once in a Lifetime, II": John Cena battling Miz for the unified title in a 120 minute iron man match,
At least that's what I heard.
As many "reports" as we get, I keep expecting that HHH/Vince are feeding everyone on the creative team a different story to see who is leaking the info to Meltzer, etc.
ReplyDeleteI bet that is the case too. Although, it was funny to hear both Meltzer and Johnson give two very different reports on the rumored Wyatt vs. Cena match. Meltzer said this was the plan as of last Tuesday while Johnson said this was something that was discussed over a month ago
ReplyDeleteThe wheelchair match sounds like a potential showstealer
ReplyDeleteWyatt winning the rumble??? Really?
ReplyDeleteWonder if Michaels said no for wrestlemania, so Bryan vs Bray is plan b.
"That rumor from last week was totally bogus and had zero truth to it. Now we'll toss in 3-4 more possible rumors that are also likely to be totally bogus."
ReplyDeleteTo Johnson's credit, he was just listing off all of the ideas that had been approached. Its the same thing as a sports reporter listing off a bunch of trade targets that a team has made inquiries about. He wasnt saying any of this was happening yet and highlighted the fact that Hogan has yet to sign with the company.
ReplyDeleteIf Brock wants the world title, then entering the rumble makes most sense.
ReplyDeleteHave him get rid if undertaker say, before being eliminated by winner punk at the end would make most sense.
Hogan and maybe say Jim Duggan vs Real Americans would make more sense. Having Cena involved with that would be a waste of time.
ReplyDeleteHere's what I see happening. The Wyatts help D-Bry win the Rumble, but there's a price. Through Bray, Triple H tries to pressure Bryan into giving up the shot, or doing something stupid with it. Seeing that he achieved what he wanted - a Main Event at Mania for the belt - he fights back, leading to the Elimination Chamber PPV, where he takes on Bray for his title shot, winning the match and guaranteeing his spot at Wrestlemania.
ReplyDeleteI'll be honest, as much as it seems out of nowhere and strange, at least Cena vs. Wyatt would be interesting and fresh. Not to mention it would push Wyatt and help make a new star. Maybe it could work if they do go with it.
ReplyDeleteHOGAN AND PIPER???
ReplyDeleteHow do you build this up?? Is Hot Rod gonna beat Hogan with the cross Andre ripped off him 27 years ago??
If it's built up right, yes.
ReplyDeletePiper's son vs. Hogan's son.
ReplyDeleteIs Hogan's son still in prison for that auto accident?
ReplyDeletePiper and Hogan in opposing corners needs to happen. Piper with Punk and Hogan with Cena. The build and promos would be amazing.
ReplyDeleteHe's been out for awhile. However Piper's son was a low level MMA fighter and Piper was training him to go into wrestling. He's further along than Hogan's kid is.
ReplyDeleteSide note: If DBry becomes a Wyatt? Will Brie Bella start dressing like Janis Joplin? (or at least Daisy Duke)
ReplyDeleteAs long as Roddy is somewhat coherent, then I am all for that.
ReplyDeleteI think, at this point... fuck any and all Wrestlemania rumors. I can admit to possibly/probably getting played by the same people who are likely screwing with the reporters with all these rumors.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, I'm going enjoy my two days off. See ya'll Thursday.
Oh, and Fuck you Dixie for being an untalented hack bitch.
It's too bad Snuka doesn't have any kids.* They could get involved.
ReplyDelete*-denotes sarcasm. I know Snuka has a daughter because they mention it every time she comes out.
Deuce is his son, isn't he?
ReplyDeletejoplin with hairy pits would be more like it lol.
ReplyDeleteshe'll grow all of her hair (ALL of it) to match the guys' facial hair
ReplyDeleteHulk has to get his revenge from WM19, Brother.
ReplyDeletesee, the joke would have worked better without the annotation
ReplyDeleteYou'd be surprised. There was bound to be one person that would tell me in a serious tone about Tamina.
ReplyDeleteExactly like what Sersi did on Game of Thrones
ReplyDeleteI like to subscribe to your newsletter thanks.
ReplyDeleteWell, that came out of nowhere on Dixie's behalf.
ReplyDeleteWhat if they did that spot during the Rumble?
ReplyDeleteWell, just like Square Enix, WWE isn't going bankrupt anytime soon.
ReplyDeleteThe collapsing ring or Hogan vs. Piper? Neither sounds like a good idea, and I imagine either one ends up with a ruined Royal Rumble match.
ReplyDeleteFeels like we've covered every possible scenario with these "current plans for Wrestlemania"
ReplyDeleteYou know what is better than winning a wheelchair match? Being able to walk!
ReplyDeleteThe sad thing here is that you (correctly) think everyone here is so bad at getting sarcasm you have to point it out
ReplyDeleteWe haven't touched on Stephanie McMahon vs. AJ Lee for the Diva's title.
ReplyDelete*waits for internet to explode*
Interesting trivia... Deuce is actually his middle name, his first name is, in reality Drop-A
ReplyDeleteTGGI
ReplyDeleteHe's not wrong though
ReplyDeleteWait til next week.
ReplyDeleteYOU DID IT!
ReplyDeleteYeah, the only thing here that really piqued my interest at this point was the photo gallery. There were some pretty great shots in there.
ReplyDeleteRemember his cup of coffee in Legacy as Sim Snuka along with Manu?
ReplyDeleteI wanted to hit 1500 last night, but that Disqus breakdown during the live thread killed my chances, especially having to go to work this morning (not that I haven't been able to find time to not work).
ReplyDeleteNow I have to set a goal of hitting the top 5!
Yeah then Legacy decide to kick them out because "If you're not white you're not all right"... I may have added that part
ReplyDeleteHere's what scares me about not knowing what's going on going into Mania... the last time we didn't know, we got Wrestlemania 25. Going into that show around this time that year, Cena was World Heavyweight Champ and Jeff Hardy was WWE Champion.
ReplyDeleteGood god. So Cena is their supposed true "draw", but they are entertaining the possibility of passing on any kind of money match just so we can have a circle-jerk comedy match with Hogan against a jobber tag team? Because that's all it would be.
ReplyDeleteHogan vs. Piper as a "Legends" match? Bwahahahaha. That shit was an embarrassment in 1997, but we're talking about that being a possibility *17* years later??? Although Hogan truly is the master politician if that happens because Piper is probably the only guy who could possibly look *worse* in the ring than Hogan at this point. Having Hogan and Piper involved in the 30th anniversary show should absolutely happen, but having them involved in any kind of match is just embarrassing. The token Hogan posing session and a coked-out Roddy promo would be sufficient.
Brock vs. Big Show en route to a Brock vs. Taker match? We truly have gone back in time to 2002-03. If there is any Lesnar match that is less "fresh" than Undertaker, it's the Big Show.
Wyatt winning the Rumble would have been a legit surprise, but I'm glad they aren't going the Cena-Wyatt route for Mania. Could make a fun post-WM feud though for sure
Totally agree. No wrestling for either of the ancients though.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see Tamina getting tuned up by a Roddy Piper coconut shot to the face.
ReplyDeleteExtreme Rules feud?
ReplyDeleteExactly. How do you build up Brock vs. Big Show exactly? We've seen Brock beat Show plenty. The whole "can he F5 him" thing happened already. They even collapsed a ring during their program. What else is there?
ReplyDeleteHogan-Piper doing the collapsed ring spot. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go ahead and fantasy book Hogan / Piper vs. Cesaro / Swagger in an under 10 minute match. Let Cesaro/ Swagger get a little heat on the legends and let Hogan hit all his spots. Of course Zeb gets a big windmill punch after the match, pose down and that's that. Some good clean fun. Involving Hogan and Cena is cool for Raw like they did in 2005, for Mania Hogan is just way past his time. Piper vs. Hogan was awful in 1997 like you said, unless they got a DeLorean to go back to 1985 and bring that Hogan and Piper back that match will be a disaster.
ReplyDeleteThat could work. Doesn't waste Cena in a meaningless match at least. Maybe even do a big multi-man elimination tag match sort of deal where the Legends can hide behind actual workers, do their token spots, and go home. Hogan & Piper recruiting their respective teams on RAW running up to WM30 could be fun. Gets the Kofis, Cesaros, and Sandows of the world on the card. The Hulkamaniacs vs. The Hot Rods as a 30th anniversary deal
ReplyDeleteI was excited for RAW coming back to Denver for the first time in a while.
ReplyDeleteI thought maybe they'd have it all figured out.
And now, after last night...I'm still excited but it's like nervous gas and not happiness, you know?
I know.
ReplyDeleteBrock Show during the Rumble.
ReplyDeleteOnly if its contested under the rules of Ultimate Surrender.
ReplyDeleteSnuka has a DAUGHTER?!??? I never knew! And she's a wrestler and everything?!
ReplyDeleteI don't think they'd have Brock come out and cut a promo saying his goal is to be world champion if they weren't planning on making him world champion. So I'm thinking (hoping! Praying!) they get the belt on him after the royal rumble. And they aren't going to put undertaker in a title program.
ReplyDeleteHow fucking awesome was Brock last night? I'm all for a Brock title reign. I'm cautiously optimistic that Brock goes over Orton at EC and it leads to Brock vs Bryan or Punk at WM. I don't see any other challengers that makes sense if he's holding the title.
ReplyDeleteOr Orton beats Brock because Brock loses to established guys, although that would hurt Brock's WM "drawing" power, so that could happen.
ReplyDeleteIf Orton goes over brock, I'll need 60 comments and an entire thread to get all the complaining out of my systen
ReplyDeleteWe're getting a Cena/Brock rematch, this time with Brock getting his win back. Pretty sure it's being done to set up Brock for a WM title match, then a rubber match with Cena at the PPV in which they first met, Extreme Rules.
ReplyDelete...one step at a time
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be shocked if they legit had Stephanie pin Brock at some point.
ReplyDeleteThe ONLY THING Piper and Hogan should be doing at WM30 is a special Piper's Pit, a rehash of the last time Piper did one with Stone Cold and Carlito interfered and got killed. Hogan and Piper get made fun of for being old, they beat the snot out of whoever it is that comes in (Real Americans are as good a bet as any, although it could be the Prime Time Players or any other team that has nothing to do at Mania) and Hogan poses. End scene.
ReplyDeleteThat's a perfectly acceptable use of their time. To quote Mr. Hogan, anything else would be uncivilized.
I think we should get a Zeb vs. Hogan in a Real Americans on a Pole Match. Cesaro and Swagger are put on poles at opposites ends of the ring like in a Flag Match. Whichever guy you climb up and retrieve, you must manage.
ReplyDeleteId be surprised by that buy would gladly take it
ReplyDeleteSaid it before but fuck guys...Hogan/ piper nostalgia appearances or involvement, Batista, Lesnar, possibly Goldberg, Punk, Cena, Bryan, Taker, possibly HBK...what else can they do? Ill take it.
ReplyDeleteIf I could only upvote that last sentence twice. Bravo, sir.
ReplyDeleteNah, submission. I'm sure they're still bitter over HHH getting mocked with "You tapped out"
ReplyDeleteI bet it's just a reason for him to enter the Rumble match. Just so that whoever eliminates him provides an insta-feud for Wrestlemania
ReplyDeleteBest thing they've done in a while: Anticipating the "I guess we're just arbitrarily naming #1 contenders" argument by having Brock come out and basically say "I'm naming myself #1 contender? Why? BECAUSE I CAN!!!"
ReplyDeleteAfter pitching this idea to Brock his response was"will my check still clear? Yes. Then WTF do I care?"
ReplyDelete"Pin me, Pay Me?" Is Brock Lesnar secretly the new leader of the JOB Squad? Tune into Nitro to find out
ReplyDeleteAnd then they established why that's true by having Brock beat down one of the toughest SOBs on the roster. Can't really complain about Brock's booking last night.
ReplyDeleteMan, wtf. I think we poked the bear with all this cultstatus might get passed talk. Looks like he went on a BARRAGE last night.
ReplyDeleteI would not mind seeing Brock obliterate Orton for the title. Not one bit.
ReplyDeleteSammartino & Backlund vs. Gotch & Hackenschmidt
ReplyDeleteBook it! Opening match
ReplyDeleteThat would be kinda awesome actually
ReplyDeleteDoes WWE sell the PPV's through online streaming?
ReplyDeleteI've cut cable this year so I'll miss Rumble and Mania, my two annual PPV buys.
Also, whatever happened to the guy who was tracking televised wins and losses?
ReplyDeleteSounds cool to me, depending on who the Rumble winner/Brock's challenger is.
ReplyDeleteI'll post them here.
ReplyDeleteCena and Orton the only two above .500. The rest of the roster, .500 or below.
You're welcome.
Five-hour Iron Man tag team match.
ReplyDeleteI'd bet Bryan is above .500 by now.
ReplyDeleteMeh, at least it'd keep Cena (presumably?) from going on last and leaving the ring to a cascade of boos (or silence) again.
ReplyDeleteSame with Punk. Slightly. They are WWE's two Upper Midcarders.
ReplyDeleteZeb Colter vs. Hogan.
ReplyDeleteLosing in the main event to Undertaker would avoid the second problem as well. :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously the only viable opponent at this point if Hogan is to work an actual "match"
ReplyDeleteIf you have theater access, I recommend it. That's what I'm gonna do.
ReplyDeleteIf i've learned one thing from this site, it's that if you try hard enough, *ANYTHING* can be complained about.
ReplyDeleteI did that once, it was ok.
ReplyDeleteIt's "summit fever" Just because you can see the top doesn't meant you're close. Dare to dream though.
ReplyDeleteOpening scene: Hogan is at a convalescence center telling the story on how he slammed the 1,500 lb. giant. Piper gets wheeled in fresh from having his 4th hip surgery. They make eye contact. Hogan makes eye contact.
ReplyDeleteHogan: "It's time we settle this."
Piper: "I can't wrestle with this hip. Arm wrestling?"
Hogan: "Tore my rotator cuff a few years back. How about thumb wrestling?"
Piper: "Arthritis. ..Checkers?"
Hogan: "Set it up, brother."
Yes they do on wwe.com
ReplyDeleteIt angers me when you wrote in all caps. I am goin to complain incessantly now.
ReplyDeleteIf I didn't retread your name is think this a farva post. Man I hope you're trolling because if you honestly think that you've got issues.
ReplyDeleteCersei, and Tyrion did it.
ReplyDeleteIt was a joke genius
ReplyDeleteHe's also got one that's a basketball player.
ReplyDeleteJokes are usually funny. That actually reads like many real opinions I've seen on here. I'm not lanny poffo, sorry.
ReplyDeleteIt is funny because it is absurd... your inability to get it changes nothing... except my opinion of your mental capacity.
ReplyDeleteAccording to yours and many others posts on here it's not absurd, rather it's a likely event. My mental capacity is not of a diminished state, rather I understand humor and the written word. It seems that I have upset you in some way so I must apologize, however I refuse to argue with persons that display symptoms of broad spectrum autism, or aspergers. Therefore I'm sorry, please don't attack me with your rapier like whit and vast knowledge of intellectual ideas and ideologies.
ReplyDeleteThat was the longest, most boring, and last effective comeback I have ever read. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteYour need to respond shows the butthurt.
ReplyDeleteMeans a lot from the guy felt the need to respond.
ReplyDeleteWish we had that in the states. No bars in my area play the ppv's either.
ReplyDeleteLol "I know you are what am I"
ReplyDeleteIt'd be very wrong if Austin didn't make an appearance.
ReplyDelete
