Roma always came across as a straight shooter. He was decent in the ring and had a great look. I have no idea why the hate for him started ignoring his time with the Horsemen which I;m sure wasn't his fault.
Watching this video, I am almost certain that his personality prevented him from getting a push. The dude is a no-nonsense guy. Him earing into HHH, after he buried him, is hilarious
said he thought he was nice when he worked with him in WCW. Then said he was helping him out then shortly after that, HHH was knocking him and Feinstein mentions HHH burying him about being in the Horsemen
Roma says that he is never going to be a top draw, no matter how much he promotes himself, because he doesnt have what it takes to be a top guy. He then calls him out for marrying Steph after being with Chyna, then says that he takes it in the ass and says if he is still talking about him, then he is on his mind and ends by saying fuck you to him.
I've seen probably 8-10 of those shoots and it seems like the key is getting someone who is at peace with not being in the business do doesn't give a fuck. I've seen a few with guys who were obviously still delusuonal about getting back into the wwe so they didn't talk about anything at all
Exactly. Just like the cover says, Roma doesnt burn bridges, he blows them up.
Also, when it comes to shoots, I dont care if they are a top guy or not, I just want someone who is willing to talk, offer insight, and say stuff other than "great guy" or "good worker" about everyone.
With teams like Cleveland and Dallas finding new and unique ways to lose every week, I wonder why football movies always end the same way. I'm not a Cowboys or Romo hater, but I can't turn away from their games cause I don't want to miss how they will screw up this time.
Rollins should definitely team with another young alt-looking guy in an updated Rockers/Rock n Roll Express. He can sell better than just about anyone not named Dolph Ziggler so I don't think he'd have a problem playing Ricky Morton. He also has that sort of tween appeal that matinee idol tag teams always need. Maybe Corey Graves in the Robert Gibson role?
Have him knock out 8-9 people in the rumble. Have, say, sheamus come in vs the shield. He knocks out Rollins. While him and reigns are in the ropes, Ambrose accidentally knocks out reigns whilst knocking out sheamus.
Elimination chamber, have the shield win whatever match, but have ambrose steal the pin.
Wrestlemania, have the turn happen. Ambrose wins the match vs reigns at extreme rules in an escape rules cage match. Reigns wins the next match and feud. He then feuds with Orton a bit. Wins title at summerslam and becomes the next big thing.
Or, have him win the rumble and beat Orton at wrestlemania.
Subtle emergence of Reigns as the real star of the Shield, so the fans start to organically support him long before a split or face turn starts. Fans started cheering Rock and Austin long before they got the official WWE Face Turn. Seems like a lot of fans take to a guy more during his push when they feel they wanted it first and WWE listened. Start with the Rumble. Let the fans pop for his power moves, make him the showcase for a segment of the match. Strategically book the Rumble match so that it's guys like Fandango, 3MB, Sandow, Miz who are the ones in there with him getting killed dead. Reigns gets fed up with Ambrose, feuds with him, comes out on the winning end. Starts a winning streak over some established guys. Do meaningful feuds with guys like maybe ADR or Orton en route to next year's Rumble. If he catches fire, make a decision: 1. Tradition Rumble win and Wrestlemania title win. OR 2. start moving toward a Streak challenge for Wrestlemania 31.
Continue to book Reigns dominantly. Eventually have Triple H book an elimination match between the Shied and a strong face team, like Cena, Rhodes, and Rhodes with some kind of stipulation (ex. if the face team loses, Cena's barred from Raw) After being dominated during the first half of the match, Ambrose calls for the Shield to walk out. They begin to do so, but halfway up the ramp, Reigns changes his mind and charges back into the ring. The three faces exchange confused looks, then shrug and triple team the lone heel. Eventually Reigns gets them one-on-one and manages to eliminate both Rhodes Bros. before missing a spear on Cena and getting pinned after an FU. The next week--after a backstage segment in which Ambrose questions Reigns' decision to break rank in the elimination match--Triple H. calls the heels to the ring and berates Reigns for losing the match. Eventually Reigns has enough and shoves Triple H hard enough to take him off his feet. He calls for Triple H. to get up and fight him. Instead Triple H looks to Rollins and Ambrose, who jump him. Reigns manages to take them down with a double spear but is immediately Pedigreed and brutally attacked by Rollins and Ambrose after they recover. Take Reigns off TV to sell the injury. In the Rumble it comes to a deadweight portion where Rollins and Ambrose clear the ring and begin double teaming and eliminating each new opponent (Santino, Ryder, maybe some Ziggler). The buzzer goes off; Rollins and Ambrose hold the ropes open to taunt the next entrant. Then guess who comes out to a monster pop? Face turn complete.
I say the final straw is during the Rumble. It's late Rumble with maybe 10 guys left. Say Ambrose & Rollins trying to push out a hanging Rybeck & Reigns dumps all 3 at once. Next Raw The Shield is main eventing & out comes Rybeck in Shield gear as the new Shield big man & Reigns gets triple power bombed. So a hot Shield act stays a hot act, Reigns goes solo & mainly feuds with Rybeck with the blowoff at Mania with Rybeck getting speared thru a table. Reigns then turns to Heyman, pinning the creation of the Shield by Heyman as a way for Heyman to manipulate match outcomes. Heyman steered Reigns down the wrong path, as Reigns has wrestling tradition & heritage in his blood. So he feuds with Heyman & his lackeys. If the push is legit & draws maybe he gets to Lesnar at Summerslam? Not a victory, but maybe a no-contest where both guys can't get up before the 10 count. So Reigns at least gets the credibility & respect. After a Lesnar program, he should be all systems go to defeat any heel champion. And I kind of like the Shield staying as the Shield, a filter and when one member clearly gets over, he separates. The Shield gimmick is money.
Give Reigns the Diesel push for the Rumble. Have Ambrose and Rollins involved in his accidental elimination - Ambrose should be obvious, Rollins slightly less so.
Reigns splits from the Shield after they lose to the Wyatts at WM30 but actually have it be a three-way split where Reigns is the face, Ambrose the heel and Rollins the tweener. Triple Threat at Extreme Rules won by Reigns but leave it semi-inconclusive so that they can feud in the main event proper for the WWE championship a year later. Have Rollins turn full face and make Ambrose-Rollins the main post-Shield feud and let them tear it up in the mid-card.
Then give Reigns the Magnum TA/Goldberg push going through the mid-card every Raw, SD and PPV for months. Give him the IC belt and have him unify it with the US to make him the definitive #2 champ without the tarnish of pseudo-top line albatross of the World Heavyweight belt. That way he's basically pushed in the Ultimate Warrior'89 role. Spear, roar, powerbomb everyone going. Every four to six weeks have him do that on some huge guy.
Reigns loses the belt at TLC to someone like heel Big Show or Alexander Rusev if he's in the main roster by then. If you want to super protect him have it lost in a Tables match or something.
Royal Rumble he wins it, eliminating Big Show/Rusev at the end. Beats CM Punk or someone of that stature at Elimination Chamber and then defeat Cena full-on WM6 style.
Follow up feuds with Big Show/Rusev, Ambrose and Rollins. We'll know if the push is as big as everyone suspects it will be if Cena turns heel on the post-WM Raw. It won't happen, but if it does then Reigns is going to be the genuine "Face of the Company" and there's nothing we can do about it.
Give him the Diesel spot in the Rumble, eliminating everyone until Rollings comes out, then later Ambrose. They end up as the final three and Ambrose tells them to let him win and Rollins argues with that and Reigns eliminates them both.
If Reigns/Undertaker is a long-term plan, then I'd have Reigns win whatever match he (and the Shield) are booked into at Wrestlemania. Right now all three Shield guys are 1-0 at Mania, so this would be a good chance to create another 'Streak' over the years, and maybe several if Rollins and Ambrose keep being pushed well.
I'm surprised they never had a guy go on am undefeated streak for a year and go streak vs streak in that sense. Like if they split Reigns away from the Shield after WM, and have him go on a Goldberg type run for a year. Would be a cool "streak vs streak" thing
I'd leave him in the shield and then push him. They didn't have to break up the horsemen just because they wanted Flair in the main event. The shield works well together and you can use tag matches to build to whatever PPV matchup they want to put Reigns in. Plus that way they would keep Ambrose strong without having to sacrifice him to Reigns for his push
I can watch the Texans or take a nap. I'm taking a nap.
ReplyDeleteI've been sick all weekend so don't want to go out but fuck are my 1s terrible. Bucs/rams and dolphins/bills. Shit

ReplyDeleteThanks, you too. Yea, regular flu stuff. I live outside tampa and it's been like fucking 80 all week, no idea how I got sick
ReplyDeleteYea, that's what I want with. At least there's like 3 degrees of playoff separation for dolphins. Bucs/rams is just atrocious
ReplyDeleteWatching this video, I am almost certain that his personality prevented him from getting a push. The dude is a no-nonsense guy. Him earing into HHH, after he buried him, is hilarious
ReplyDeleteI live near Cleveland and it's been between 10 and 60 degrees over the last week. We went from half a foot of snow to almost wearing shorts outside.
ReplyDeleteBucs/Rams is the equivalent of watching a house show match between Tony Garea and Rene Goulet
ReplyDeletePanthers down in Saints territory and throw a pick. Don't start that crap today
ReplyDeleteKind of the Ornorff mentality? I could see that.
ReplyDeletePretty much.
ReplyDeleteI'm watching Jets/Browns. That's a curtain jerker for sure. Brooklyn Brawler vs. Sam Houston.
ReplyDeleteSalvatore Bellomo vs. Tiger Chung Lee
ReplyDeleteDid he talk about the Alex Wright match? That's the only time I ever liked him.
ReplyDeleteSucks bc there are actually 100s I want to watch. Gimme a romo implosion to entertain me or Carolina/NO
ReplyDeleteYea, saw the preview clip and it looked awesome
ReplyDeleteHe say anything specifically demeaning towards HHH?
ReplyDeleteDays like this is why NFL Red Zone exists.
ReplyDeleteI'm at my gfs amd she doesn't get that either! Fucking nfl purgatory
ReplyDeletesaid he thought he was nice when he worked with him in WCW. Then said he was helping him out then shortly after that, HHH was knocking him and Feinstein mentions HHH burying him about being in the Horsemen

Is there a morning boring nfl team to watch then Minnesota with an injured AP? Maybe Bucs, Rams or titans.
ReplyDeleteHe did in great detail. Great stuff
ReplyDeleteLol. Nice
ReplyDeleteSteve Smith just went down. Not looking good.

LOL. that's great stuff.
ReplyDeleteYea. That hurts
ReplyDeleteYea man. Just need him to cover 2 at home vs a bad Gmen team. Not sure Stafford can even fuck that up
ReplyDeleteWin the IC Title and proceed to lose non-title matches.
ReplyDeleteHe is competing with Eli Manning so I like your chances this time.
ReplyDeleteCue the, off the back foot heave and subsequent INT to cost Detroit the game
ReplyDeleteThe Saints just pulled off an onside kick. This one ain't going too well
ReplyDeleteHate that saints team. Hope cam beats them
ReplyDeleteGood, Cleveland's winning, let's see how they will lose today.
ReplyDeleteWith teams like Cleveland and Dallas finding new and unique ways to lose every week, I wonder why football movies always end the same way. I'm not a Cowboys or Romo hater, but I can't turn away from their games cause I don't want to miss how they will screw up this time.
