And by 'buy' I certainly don't mean stream! We've got a slobberknocker x 1000 in Wyatts/Shield and a potentially awesome Elimination Chamber with Bryan/Cena/Orton/Cesaro/Sheamus/Christian. Nothing too exciting other than that (ADR/Batista, Big E/Swagger, Outlaws/Usos, Young/Titus) but still there could be some interesting developments going into Mania and 2 intensely watchable matches.
What do yourself and the BODers think?
I'm not particularly amped to watch Orton win yet another match with the odds stacked against him, but I guess Wyatts/Shield should be fun. I don't think it's particularly worth buying, though.
I look forward to watching this show when it becomes available in 30 days on the Network.
ReplyDeleteI dunno: on Smackdown and RAW, they were playing up Daniel Bryan being badly injured going into the chamber. That could be them trying to make it a surprise if he wins...
ReplyDeleteIt'll definitely start with Bryan and Caesaro, Christian will get eliminated by Bryan, Caesaro will knock out Sheamus, Cena will then eliminate Caesoro, the Wyatts will interfere, Sister Abigail into the pod will leave Cena open to being pinned by Orton, then it's 50/50 between Bryan and Orton.
Wyatts vs Shield should be awesome. Wyatts will win though, after a cock up from Ambrose.
Canada wins gold! Woooooo!
ReplyDeleteWishful thinking about Bryan.... I was thinking they would go the other way with it and claim Bryan's injuries would keep him out of the chamber and replace him.
ReplyDeleteAs do I. But I won't watch it then, either.
ReplyDeleteWhy not?
ReplyDeleteRE: Xavier - good look, solid athlete. I always assumed RF thought he was hot and pushed him as a result.
ReplyDeleteI just want a show that entertains me, personally
ReplyDeleteWTF is a cock up?
ReplyDeleteAn erection?
ReplyDeleteUnless you're watching with friends, I don't see the point in buying a show. Just stream
ReplyDeleteThat's the only thing I could think of
ReplyDeletePlus, it is free on the network in 30 days.
ReplyDeleteMeltzer made a great point last night: why buy this show when tomorrow night you can watch Hogan, Lesnar, and the Undertaker appear for free.
See if Kathie Lee and Hoda are available to do some night-drinking.
ReplyDeleteHah. I read that as "throw a sickle." Go for it, Nikita.
ReplyDeleteAnd if the viewer could select the 90 mins they wish to see, it'd be excellent. It's asking too much at this point, though.
ReplyDeleteI finally saw Wolf of Wall Street. An awesome film. I love money hustling type films, especially those in the 80s, and this was great stuff. Leo was Leo, meaning his usually awesomeoness, but this has to be a career making film for Jonah Hill. Nobody in young Hollywood has that type of range. I mean, did anyone who saw Superbad expect this type of talent? I didn't. Just a fantastic film, and another 3 hour Scorcese film that you could watch all the time and it would never feel like 3 hours.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Ethan Suplee has to have one of the greatest transformations in Hollywood history, no?
I enjoyed Wolf but I hated Jonah Hill in this movie. I cannot believe he's a two-time Oscar nominee.
ReplyDeleteWolf was fun for what it was and the fact that the three hours flew by is a positive.
Quite a transformation for Suplee from American History X to this
ReplyDeleteI think he was at his biggest in The Butterfly Effect, which I just revisited a few weeks ago, so it really blew my mind to how he was looking in this.
ReplyDeleteHated the character? Or his performance?
ReplyDeleteHe was just annoying.
ReplyDeletePPV became a paid Raw.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sure they do. I'm just speaking generally here. Plus, the wrestling fan base isn't exactly known for highly educated academic fans. Again, speaking generally here.
ReplyDeleteI think that was the intention of the character. I thought he was obnoxious as hell too.
ReplyDelete***SPOILERS***
I loved the whole "I can't die, man! I've done a lot of bad shit! I'm gonna go to hell!"
That was fantastic, and reminded me of Almost Famous.
All the reasons Scott says it's not of interest tonight don't change in 30 days.
ReplyDeleteIf this does turn out to be the show where Daniel Bryan FINALLY wins the belt, no takies-backies, we PROMISE, then maybe.
I didnt get the love for him in "Moneyball." It wasnt a tough or compelling role.
ReplyDeleteTime to upgrade...Apple is too restrictive and Apple TV is too limited...
ReplyDeleteI don't get why both things can't be a priority, like maybe their priority could be revenue, regardless of the source. Are they unable to hire production guys who work on the weekend?
ReplyDeleteThey tried regular PPV from 2007 to 2009. Was pretty much a disaster in terms of buyrates. Tried iPPV at the end of 2009 till 2013. Couldn't handle the traffic flow. It's obvious Sinclair doesn't want to spend the money to get live shows right so they're sticking with television.
ReplyDeleteRight, I remember the iPPV debacle, which is a shame because it actually worked very well at first, and was a really fun way to watch the product.
ReplyDeleteBut my point is that you'd think the least they could do would be to get the shows up promptly if they can't put them up live. I get the demands of streaming, but I don't see what's stopping them from posting the show the next day. Spoilers are out there now and I can't imagine interest in purchasing the "PPV" doesn't lag greatly with each passing hour.
I don't imagine it actually takes 48 hours of nonstop work to upload their event, in which case Monday evening would literally be them posting ASAP. I realize I don't know their business, but theoretically, if I were in charge of the PPV production, I would just have a crew ready to go all night and say, "okay, show's off the air, let's have it up Saturday morning so we can get paid by all the lazy day Saturday and Sunday viewers." I know DGUSA, at least, used to be able to put their events up remarkable fast, although DGUSA also never had iPPV problems and can still run them as such.
What ever happened to spanky? Also Ive been looking around for a video of that triple threat, couldn't find it on YouTube or dailymotion. Anyone have a link to that match elsewhere?
ReplyDeleteIt should be noted that most of the ROH brass saw Xavier as a better long term investment than Bryan at the time. And in fact Gabe Sapolsky didn't think Bryan would ever be ROH champ.
ReplyDeleteSeems ridiculous now. I remember when they brought Xavier back for one match to face Danielson back when Bryan was doing his long run as champ and it was crazy how poor he looked in comparison
ReplyDeleteYou know he's Brian Kendrick, right? Can't find the triple threat online either. I have the event on my hard drive, might just watch that match later. While the company didn't hit its full stride til 2004, 02-03 had some awesome matches sprinkled in their cards
ReplyDeleteHell yea. Those Super Crazy, Tajiri, Little Guido Triple Threat matches never get old
ReplyDeleteThey do have production guys there. The big events like the 12th anniversary shows are used as like 3 of their regular TV shows, with another handful of "regular" TV shows in between
ReplyDeleteThey make a ton of revenue off the show and had nothing but bad publicity with the iPPVs. It was the right decision.
ReplyDeleteI always kinda liked Lenny Leonard...
