Favorite Instances of Trolling Crowds

Howdy BOD'ers! Taking this from the thread a few weeks back when we got another look at HBK's tremendous "Who's Your Daddy Montreal" promo, I was wondering if you guys had any personal favorites spots when it came to trolling crowds.

I'll throw this one up, even though it went a minute too long, the first line was just great and had me rolling.

Comments

  1. Say 'What?' if you like to sleep with your sister!

    ReplyDelete
  2. The Buckner line was tremendous.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Would Jim Ross' pipebomb speech and his reveal of the fake Diesel and Razor Ramon count as trolling?

    ReplyDelete
  4. If not then my favorite would be when the Rock went heel on the Toronto Raw. http://youtu.be/9PglAZUbzVI <"That's where we live.. YAYY!!"

    ReplyDelete
  5. Those Mother-Canuckers deserved it.

    ReplyDelete
  6. What I never understood was, why did KANE do it? They take 6 months to build him up as the ultimate monster heel to challenge Taker... And on the night it finally happens, they book him to get a huge face pop? WTF???

    ReplyDelete
  7. "Finally the Rock has come back to Toron....Toron...to run his mouth all over your candy asses!"

    ReplyDelete
  8. This is a very good point, not sure what they were thinking there. I guess they wanted to see Pete Rose be a victim to the Big Red Machine when he used to be a huge part of the Big Red Machine....

    ReplyDelete
  9. I was there for the Bret Hart enema/Pittsburgh promo. That one hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  10. THREADJACK: Did anyone see this article on Sting by Bill Apter on WWE.com??

    http://www.wwe.com/classics/wcw/behind-the-paint-of-sports-entertainment-icon-sting-26181648

With an ass-kissing article like that, I'm guessing that Sting in the WWE is pretty much a done deal...

    ReplyDelete
  11. Because Russo was booking. That is why.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Is that Stephanie McMahon in the crowd standing up clapping at 1:02?

    ReplyDelete
  13. "THAT'S PETE ROSE!"

    ReplyDelete
  14. I mean, really, that's the reason, and they were hoping for mainstream attention that would get the joke.

I remember watching the news the night of the show (I was in Boston) and they showed a clip, but there was no mention of Kane as the Big Red Machine.

    ReplyDelete
  15. "I'm gonna whip out my Johnson, and piss in this hellhole!"
    RIP Brian. You were awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ah, back when you could do Mania in Boston. Too bad they're not SAWFT enough for domed football stadiums.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Good eye! Probably is, given that Linda is sitting in front of her.

    ReplyDelete
  18. "We got a mom in the front row that taught her daughter how to suck dick." - Dudley's

    Andy Kaufman's early Memphis stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I also liked the HUGE f'n deal they made about Rock being on Raw, when he was a Smackdown draft pick. I liked the brand extention/split when they were serious about it.

    ReplyDelete
  20. But it made more sense for UT to tombstone Pete. I was there at WM 14 live and that was some pop.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Quote that one all the time, haha. "YAY, that's where WE live...shut up!"

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'll never stop loving Pete's "how 'bout it?" comment. Hysterically assholic and sleazy as Hell.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Amazing thing is that this was Pete Rose's first time on wrestling tv and he instantly "got it". He could had been one of the greatest heel managers had he stuck around.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I preferred his rock performance in Sacramento.

"But I'll be sure to come back when the Lakers beat the Kings in May!"

    ReplyDelete
  25. When Bryan came out on RAW the night after winning the WWE title at Night of Champions only to be stripped of the title....

wait, is the Bryan complaining thing still cool?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh, that was hilarious. The fans' immediate explosion of boos and Rock's shit eating grin as he sang it were perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  27. That was awesome too. Of course, the Kings haven't played in May for over a decade now, so it wouldn't work anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  28. At that time, I'm pretty sure Kane didn't take shit from anybody

    ReplyDelete
  29. This, oh this. Just the line I thought of when I saw this topic.

    ReplyDelete
  30. SMART MARKS!

    ReplyDelete
  31. A-Rod's a spotlight whore. Money isn't the issue.

    ReplyDelete
  32. No need to heavy stip it up...just let it blow off the Bryan-Authority angle. Hell, it's Triple H and it's been the primary angle of the programming since Summerslam, so they can even put it on last if they want to. Then I'd give Batista a face title run with Bryan still playing the top face, which sets up a slow burn of Batista getting jealous that the fans treat Bryan as the top guy, he turns heel, new bad guy for Bryan to work with in a program people would actually care about.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I think they just really didn't appreciate how over he was until the Rumble, and now they don't exactly know what they're going to do going forward. I pretty much believe the report that came out last week (?) that they don't have anything in stone for Wrestlemania yet because they want to keep everything fluid at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  34. When Jericho trolled all of us!

    ReplyDelete
  35. That's true. But I'm pretty sure Vince and Co. are still kinda wary about the Wrestling-PED connection.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yup. Him pretending to be too choked up to speak was friggin' brilliant.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Anyone mention Mark Henry's fake retirement this past year?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Smmmaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrttttttttttttt maaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrkkkkkkkkssssssss....fucking Pillman was the best

    ReplyDelete
  39. Kane had been doing a thing where he randomly came out and attacked people in the build to the match.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'll always remember Kurt Angle's line about Canada: "You can't have barbecues, because you might get attacked by a moose."

Come to think of it, Angle was pretty good with the trolling. When he told Rey, "sorry kid, you must be this tall to fight Kurt Angle", I lost it.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oh, and can we take pretty much everything that Trips has said about Bryan since "Summerslam" as one gigantic trolling?

    ReplyDelete
  42. The original DX was pretty awesome at it. Kurt Angle, Edge, & Christian excelled at it too.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I still think his "interview" with the Rock before No Mercy 2000 was one of the funniest things ever.

    ReplyDelete
  44. "If I could make anyone in history tap out it would be Jesus and you people would still cheer me"

    ReplyDelete
  45. Stranger in the AlpsFebruary 19, 2014 at 6:37 PM

"(insert city name here) is filled with so many losers, it's no wonder (insert city team here) can't win a championship!".

    ReplyDelete
  46. Either bring Rose back, or get somebody on the roster to end every sentence with that.

    I nominate Barrett.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Man, that Hollywood theme was completely badass.

    ReplyDelete
  48. HHH a few weeks ago:"Awww, did someone not get what they wanted?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Stranger in the AlpsFebruary 19, 2014 at 6:45 PM

Ted DiBiase kicking that basketball away from the one kid who was on his way to an easy $100.

    ReplyDelete
  50. making this even better is Daivaris "who'd he ever beat?"

    ReplyDelete
  51. The Dudleys in ECW, once they truly united with Gertner.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Threadjack:

Syracuse is tied against Boston College in Basketball with less than a minute left. Syracuse is 25-0 and BC is 6-19

    ReplyDelete
  53. Fucking nail biter!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Lucky as fuck they got the offensive rebound.

    ReplyDelete
  55. College basketball: Either you're winning by 30, or you're close to losing.

Girls High School Basketball: Either it's 100-10, or your team sucks. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  56. Women's Basketball is the least competitive sport there is. Its always a blowout every game

    ReplyDelete
  57. Holy shit, yeah. Wouldn't be surprised to see this hit overtime.

    ReplyDelete
  58. A shame this isn't happening as a 1-16 match in the tourney.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Give them this: NCAA Women have had a 16 beats 1 game... Harvard beat Stanford 71-67 in 1998.

    ReplyDelete
  60. BC subs in Doug Flutie, who hits one from 80 feet at the buzzer to win.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Flutie wouldn't make the practice squad in basketball.

    Too short. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  62. Funny you mention that.

My uncle played baseball for BC and graduated the year before Fluite arrived. He went back to school the next year and played a pickup game of basketball against him and said that he was really, really good

    ReplyDelete
  63. CM Punk kicks Jeff Hardy out of WWE, comes out the following week to his music and face paint.

    ReplyDelete
  64. It still looks like Batista-Orton to me. At the very least it should all be decided by Monday. Just pick a direction and go with it. They have botched things so much that it's going to be hard to get momentum going into WM

    ReplyDelete
  65. Keep Flutie away! Keep him away!

    ReplyDelete
  66. He will be the team place kicker.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Biggest margin of victory in overtime history coming up?

    ReplyDelete
  68. That Punk/Jeff feud was friggin' amazing, shame that it's kind of gotten lost and forgotten along with all of the other pre-"Pipebomb" stuff.

Even the week before that, when he beat Jeff, and then ruined Jeff's good-bye to the audience by smashing in the back of the head with the belt. Hitting people with the belt has gotten so passe', but that particular moment was so well done and seemed to carry so much more weight.

    ReplyDelete
  69. BC BOMBING it in OT...

    ReplyDelete
  70. Only if it comes from BC. SU hasn't been able to buy a bucket since the start of the second half.

    ReplyDelete
  71. That foul they just called on BC was horseshit

    ReplyDelete
  72. The Jug Band!

    ReplyDelete
  73. I don't think it'll be that hard at all. The Wyatts and The Shield (especially Reigns) are red fucking hot, Bryan has at least two possible matches that would go over (title match or Triple H), you've got Taker coming back, and I think Batista-Orton could do well so long as a) they have Bryan directly feuding with Triple H at the same time and, b) Batista starts acting like a full bore face and stops palling around with Trips.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I just feel like, you want to seal the guy as the biggest deal possible, you do it on the biggest stage possible. And every month it continues, the Lugering risk increases, so just do it.

    ReplyDelete
  75. It's possible, but I also think most of the crowd still wants to see Bryan give Triple H his comeuppance, and really, it's Trips that Bryan has been feuding with since Summerslam. So if they make that an explicit feud with Trips personalizing it and *wanting* to beat Bryan himself once and for all, I don't think it's going to make the crowd grow tired of Bryan and his chase for the title.

    ReplyDelete
  76. So do a 20th anniversary homage to Bret's WM X journey and combine it into a delicious championship-winning peanut butter and jelly sandwich of YES in the Superdome, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  77. The solution is to pull a Tommy Dreamerand take them both.

    ReplyDelete
  78. But isn't that what you'd want the smarks to think to get them to buy EC?

    ReplyDelete
  79. I'll only accept that if he thrusts in time to the yes chants.

And Steph must have a huge orgasm, and call Bryan the best since Macho Man
