The only big match missing that I can think of is the rematch with Savage from London.  I'm not sure if Hogan vs. Warrior II qualifies as wrestling., 1986

Comments

  1. I think I'll be skipping it. Although Warrior vs. Savage at WrestleMania was a thing of beauty.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Savage II is a MAJOR omission. Personally, I like it better than wm7, so there goes one of the key reasons why I would have bought this.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Yes, the greatest HHH match of all time is included in this!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Is Warrior himself doing the links? It would certainly be interesting to hear his thoughts on it all.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I'm surprised that the Lawler/Warrior segment made the cut again. As a fan of THIS BUSINESS, I do not want to see sports entertainers walk to the ring wearing a baseball cap like a regular joe.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Man, that's a lot of clotheslines.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Wow this is a pretty nice set to be honest, Summerslam 92 match omission notwithstanding. Think I'll get the Blu-ray.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Ill pass on that.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I dunno why they didn't throw Rude/Warrior 1, Savage/Warrior 2, and Hogan/Warrior 2 on this just to make it complete. Maybe even some more WCW stuff like WarGames 98 and Hogan/Bret vs Sting/Warrior.

The inclusion of a handful of jobber squashes, for me, actually makes good use of the video library. Unfortunately, there's no Papa Shango voodoo magic to make this set a 10/10.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Oh man I don't know if I ever want to watch Warrior vs Goldust though. 15 minutes of stalling with a count out finish? I'd have been throwing shit at the ring if I'd been there live.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Needs the Savage Summerslam match as well. I would've liked to have seen Warrior/LOD vs Demolition from SNME as well.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Weird that it has SO many rare matches but is missing Warrior/Savage II from Summerslam...

    ReplyDelete
  14. The first Rude match was just so-so compared to other matches and Hogan 2 is a train wreck that I imagine most people want to forget, much like his entire WCW run.

Savage 2 is a glaring omission, but I'm glad it has some of their house show matches.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Oh sure, I post the link in the daily thread and all of a sudden it has it's own. I feel special!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Crazy, I called the inclusion of that Chris Adams match back when this was first announced. It's one of his only WCCW matches that's readily available and not awful. Kind of weird going for the deep cuts on this, though. People don't give a fuck about multiple Warrior/HTM matches or the multiple squash matches that are included. The latter could've easily been handled in a montage so you save room for stuff like Warrior/Savage II. I'm also VERY disappointed Hogan vs. Warrior from Halloween Havoc wasn't included for the awesome comedy value it would've added, hearing Warrior explain the circumstances surrounding that one.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Now if only they'd publicly apologize for the hatchet-job DVD they put out.....but eh. Guess that's TOO much humility for the McMahons to ever show.

    ReplyDelete
  18. This looks to be as close to an apology as he's going to get

    ReplyDelete
  19. They actually NAMED a chapter "Building Momentum."

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm disappointed there isn't a "Vintage Warrior" or "creating separation" chapters.

    ReplyDelete
  21. A big FU to WCW. Zero matches!?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Nobody should apologize for that. That was glorious.

    ReplyDelete
  23. It was a B+ move by an A+ talent.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Seriously, the exact same IWC that's ripped Warrior for years suddenly complains when WWE voices their own exact thoughts?

    ReplyDelete
  25. You'd think they'd include Halloween Havoc '98 just for the train wreck. Hell, on the first DVD, Hogan actually takes the blame for how bad that turned out with the crazy build and blowing the fireball bit.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Lots of house show stuff = interest from me. Needed a bit more WCCW, and no "I'll write my name in your own puke" makes me a sad panda.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Besides Hogan/Warrior II, what else did he do? Maybe the tag with Sting on Nitro?

    ReplyDelete
  28. I wonder if it is the one that led Harley to remember him as the "faggot Indian" (and with Punk gone, unless they filmed wraparounds ahead of time, this was a lost opportunity indeed...of course he'd have to tell a PG version of the story...)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Warrior/Savage II is available on the first Warrior DVD, though its only on the FYE exclusive version.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm sad that we never got to see the "Screwed! The Bret Hart Story" DVD that almost came out.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I maintain Vince deliberately made that as one-sided and harsh as possible, knowing Bret's ego would push him to agree to take part and set the record straight.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I want this so baaaad.
    I want thiiiiis.
    I want this so baaaad.
    It's driving me mad
    driving me mad.

    ReplyDelete
  33. The Rude and Dibiase matches from 1990 (SNME and the Main Event) are seriously underrated classics, if both had finishes and were on a major ppv they'd be remembered very fondly. This set looks amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Doesn't matter, they are pretty famous matches. I dunno why people would be worried about work rate on an Ultimate Warrior dvd.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I feel like the answer to this for the rest of time is now, "eh, all that stuff's on the network anyway."

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think this dvd has a pretty good selection: on one hand the essential matches like the ones from WMVI oder VII but also enough "rare" stuff for guys like "us", who are very likely to already own all of the Warriors most important matches.

    ReplyDelete
  37. No Summerslam 1991? Hm.
