Reasons for WWE Inducting Scott Hall into the Hall of Fame as "Razor Ramon?"
The reasons that the WWE chose to induct him as the Razor Ramon character is that Vince is really proud of the fact that Razor was one of the first heel characters that the crowd loved and that they can always induct him into the Hall of Fame later on as Scott Hall, as part of the Outsiders.

Christian Update
The reason that Christian was pulled from the Intercontinental Title match on "Main Event" was that he suffered a "slight" concussion. He will be held out of action until he can pass the Impact testing.

I was baffled why Hall was going in as "Razor Ramon." I think it makes sense now that the nWo will likely get their own induction and he'll go in as Scott Hall there.
ReplyDelete1. That makes sense in a Vince McMahon type of thinking way
ReplyDelete2. Slight brain injury. Hang it up Christian before you get a serious brain injury.
3. You get a wrestlemania payday! You get a wrestlemnia payday! Everyone gets a wrestlemania payday!
4. More Trish is always a good thing.
I forgot all about Los Matadores.
ReplyDeleteVince, you got to let Los Matadores go man.
ReplyDelete2016 will be the 20 year anniversary of the NWO forming. Good time to induct them.
ReplyDeleteOn one hand, good for them for getting a Mania payday. On the other... it's the freaking Los Matadores.
ReplyDeleteSo inducting Razor Ramon is basically Vince inducting himself for being so awesome...got it.
ReplyDeleteFunny, with Christian out and Dolph in now, the match with Big E can actually have a bit of STORY and IMPORTANCE added to it, given their history together last year, instead of just a random pairing at the biggest show of the year. I love how they find ways to backwards-ly fart their way into logic sometimes.
ReplyDeleteThe tag team title match should been the Rhodes brothers vs. someone so they could put out a 10-15 minute classic like they had been doing on Raw for like 4 months.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why the WWE feels the need to keep putting these filler matches, like the 4-way, on the card when there is like 20 minutes of filler between matches anyway between commercials, videos, promos, musical guests, etc. etc.
They should treat WrestleMania like a Floyd Mayweather boxing card - just give us all the main events and cut the filler crap matches out.
At the very least they should hire acting coaches for the guys who are doing their movies.
ReplyDeleteBut WWE is probably afraid that if they train their wrestlers as actors they'll pack up and run for Hollywood like Rock and (to a much lesser extent) Batista.
I love how Christian lost like 18 matches in a row to Sheamus, but the FIRST win he gets in ages, he gets immediately injured. I think he's allergic to winning.
ReplyDeleteI really don't understand this. If not pure acting classes at least improv classes that would be helpful not only in their skits and promos but also in the ring. On JR"s Podcast he was talking to Austin about training guys in NXT and the first thing Austin said was "Promos."
ReplyDeleteYou have to be able to talk them into the seats.
Yeah, this. A junk divas match or something as a cool down is fine, but why would you stack the card with so many pointless matches? Give me the Usos vs. The Rhodes Brothers (I wouldn't even complain if you tossed The Real Americans in there too), and make the multi man match mean something (for the love of God put MITB back at Mania already). Add that to the four big matches and let Taker and Brock bleed like pigs and you've got an awesome show.
ReplyDeleteHe could be the next guy. I was at the Barclays center on Monday and when the crowd realized that Bryan wouldn't be there you could feel the air come out of the building.
ReplyDeleteEsp. when they have a fucking 30 MAN BATTLE ROYAL specifically designed to get everyone a payday.
ReplyDeleteShhhh! Don't put "18" with "Sheamus" in the same sentence, man! You'll get bombarded with angry pro-Bryan fans!
ReplyDeletehaha, funny, I just watched a clip of that match a few hours ago, and... the truth is, it got a monster pop. (Plus AJ looked incredible, even by her lofty standards). Awesome moment!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really good question. The WWE wants to be taken so seriously as entertainment, so it would certainly help if all of the wrestlers could act. Some of the guys are pretty good actors naturally, and a good acting coach could put them over the top.
ReplyDeleteScrewing Bret... sounds like a porno
ReplyDeleteGives a new meaning to "Bret Screwed Bret".
ReplyDeleteBut didn't they have the match on the Network last night?
ReplyDeleteJesus, seriously. Put THEM in the battle royal and let the Rhodes boys do some damage in the tag match.
ReplyDeleteHow awesome would it be if they kept adding tag teams until the ring apron was covered with people. We could have the first ever 11 way tag team title match.
ReplyDeleteThey were never scheduled to fight at WM.
ReplyDeleteJesus, isn't this Christian's 114th concussion in the past 6 months?
ReplyDeleteYou're right. The thing is, dudes barely get promo time. The usos are tag champs and I don't think I've ever heard them speak. Dean Ambrose is supposed to be a good promo but the shield may get promo time once a month.
ReplyDeletePlus, does it even matter since promos are so heavily scripted and if you go off script even the slightest, you get in trouble backstage and have your push terminated?
It's nice that austin and jr want wrestlers to be better speakers but it's not like the talent has a creatively free environment to work in.
Are you saying you didn't truly believe that Miz was The Marine?
ReplyDeletePeople were freaking out about the "Razor Ramon" thing in the live thread for some reason
ReplyDeleteBut will they let him is the key. If WCW was still around and Vince was getting his ass handed to him on regular, they would probably give him the Austin push. But they own the biz so there's no ideal impetus to do so.
ReplyDeleteIt actually really sucks because we probably have another five to ten years of orton and cena on top.
Which is doubly funny when you consider Razor Ramon is basically an exact copy of The Diamond Studd..except now he talks like Tony Montana!
ReplyDeleteWhich you guessed it, Vince didn't come up with or even understand since he hadn't seen Scarface.
That's what they do!!
ReplyDelete"Screwing Bret" with Bruce Prichard, guest audio commentary by Tammy Sytch!
ReplyDeleteI've come to the conclusion that Scott Keith is the least interesting person to read on Scott Keith's blog. The posts and comments made here by others are vastly more developed and insightful compared to the flippant snark in nearly everything he writes about current WWE. Not that there's anything wrong with that -- the dude is burnt out on the topic which just so happens to be the most popular topic of discussion. It's just a mildly amusing observation. Keep up the good work, everybody else!
ReplyDeleteThere's a "with tears in her eyes" joke here but I'll leave it to the pros...
ReplyDeleteOn shoots they always say they do like a Toast masters type class deal
ReplyDelete"I hear you offering me water, but I dont really believe you are offering me water"
ReplyDeleteYou seem really dumb
ReplyDelete.... OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!!!!!!
ReplyDelete"With tears in her eyes, Tammy told me that the best 20 seconds of her life."
ReplyDeleteI don't think those lessons worked for poor Morrison. Maybe they helped him 'act' like he didn't care Batista was boning his live-in girlfriend
ReplyDeleteI have no idea either.
ReplyDeleteScherer brought up a good point that they realize the potential Hall of Fame list is getting shorter and by inducting guys as part of different things can spread it out and make it easy for the company.
Why anyone is upset over this is beyond me. They will all job to Nebb28's pet rock at BoD Mania
It's sort of the "live thread" gimmick. Wait until WWE does something, then complain that it should have been done the opposite way.
ReplyDeleteLet's be honest. It's Tammy Sytch.
ReplyDeleteThose aren't tears.
"With tears in her eyes, Sunny told me the tears in her ass were the biggest anyone ever. Candido agreed that I was far more gifted sexually than he was."
ReplyDeleteHow are Los Matadores in the tag match at Mania and Rhodes/Goldust are in the battle royal? Can anyone think of a rational explanation?
ReplyDeleteI dunno, I feel like this run is a major black mark on Orton's career. They finally gave Orton the heel turn he'd been begging for and made him THE main event guy... and he bombed about as bad as one could bomb in that spot. The crowds turned on his matches—— not on him as a heel, but chanting boring and hijacking his title matches on PPV. He proved to not be a PPV draw (lowest Survivor Series number of all-time) at all. Hell, his Mania title match against Batista had to be completely adjusted to make him a virtual non-factor in the promotion because they realized how much of a negative draw it had become. They based the promotion around him for 8 months, put him over everyone on PPV, brought Batista back to face him at Mania... and they still had to have Bryan or HHH pull double duty to sell the main event.
ReplyDeleteOrton's always going to be in the mix somewhat because Vince/HHH/Steph have a hard-on for him, but I think he's done as anything more than a midcarder from now on.
I promise to buy the Prichard shoot if I can have a guarantee that he is clothed for the entire interview. I don't want some sick Brother Love in a diaper shit.
ReplyDeleteThe battle royal is more meaningful.
ReplyDeleteThe company did until last night.
ReplyDeleteThey do "promo" classes for the developmental roster, and in 2010 they even had it for the younger talents in the main roster before live events. It's taught by the wrestling trainers and on-screen talent however, not outside actors or something.
ReplyDeleteI really want to watch Ryback doing improv now.
ReplyDeleteWatching the video in the arena, I kept waiting for the nWo stuff to come up, and then I realized they never once used the words, "Scott Hall."
ReplyDeleteRazor Ramon was probably the best character created by the WWF in the early 1990s. For that alone, there should be some recognition on its own merit.
That's sort of revisionist history there. Orton had a great string of solid matches, and he was handicapped by the booking. Even a lot of people here will agree that this was barely Orton's fault at all, and he's been bringing the goods.
ReplyDeleteWell that's an entirely different issue. Ambrose is a fairly good talker from what I've seen but hasn't been given the opportunity to exercise those skills. I think the Shield would be even more over than they are now, if you can believe it, if they let them loose on their promos.
ReplyDeleteJust look at what cutting a great promo has done for Bray. Look at what it did for Punk. Granted some guys shouldn't talk and that's fine but the ones who can shouldn't be held to the same rules (scripting, etc) as the guys who can talk and improvise.
Steve Austin Improvised "Austin 3:16". Look at Michael hayes face after he says it, it's like he hears a cash register ring. Do you think Piper would ever had been as dangerous and cool if he was just reading scripts? His main selling point is that you never knew what he might say.
I work in Television and have done a lot of reality television and I have been in many a situation where the "talent" wouldn't do or say something that "creative" wanted them to because "I would never say that." The same problems exist in wrestling where writers are scripting every word for therefore everyone comes out sounding the same and no one is different or unique.
Then when someone different like Bray comes around and allowed to be a different sort of character he gets over huge. I'm not saying that his promos aren't scripted but they are completely different and his natural creepy charisma is allowed to show through and become a true character.
And plus, outside of showing up on Nitro and starting the nWo, Razor>Hall all day long.
ReplyDeleteThat makes complete sense
ReplyDeleteMaybe next year, they can honor the Dungeon of Doom!
ReplyDeleteDaniel Bryan is a total Zodiac ripoff. YES! NO!! YES!! NO!!
ReplyDeleteOnce Hogan was revealed as the third man, then they brought the Giant in, and then everyone was nWo, Scott Hall always seemed the odd man out.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I agree completely.
ReplyDeleteAll the stars are aligning for Bryan to become the next big star. The boom periods in wrestling have as much to do with technological and business advances (Hogan - dawn of the PPV era, Austin - height of the Monday Night Wars) along with whoever is hot at the time. Bryan being the most popular guy coinciding with the launch of WWE Network SHOULD catapult him into the stratosphere.
ReplyDeleteOf course, they have to give him the ball and let him run with it first.
