Recommended viewing today: Hog Wild '96 from WCW. So you build a show around a biker rally and you expect these people to sit through a Dean Malenko-Chris Benoit wrestling clinic and feature a team of black guys (Harlem Heat) cheating to beat a team of white guys (The Steiners); and they came back TWO MORE TIMES! This is why this show is interesting, although there are definitely some good matches as well with Rey Mysterio vs. Ultimo Dragon and Ric Flair vs. Eddie Guerrero, as well as the above-mentioned Malenko-Benoit classic. WATCH IT!

  1. Savage/Yoko may be Yokozuna's best match ever.

  2. How could Macho Man say Diesel is not good looking? He's BIG SEXY~!

  3. I can't think of one that comes all that close.

  4. a two match show? must have been the first time Raw ever did that, right?

  5. That tag match was really good. Someone mentioned this the other day, but one thing I really like about these old Raw's is how they make everything seem important. Perhaps living through these shows was boring as hell, but it's actually a nice change of pace from the current product.

  6. This was before Kevin switched hair products.

  7. He has two cage matches with Bret that are outstanding. One on Coliseum Video and one handheld from MSG. Possibly more on handheld, but those are the two I've seen.

The ending is dumb, granted, but the closing stretch of the '93 Rumble is basically a match in and of itself, and it's quite well done.

  8. Okay, I haven't seen either Bret match, at least that I can recall.

  9. I remember watching the show live, and Shawn was late on the run in, so the referee kind of paused after 2 because Pierre wasn't kicking out. I was a pissed little mark.

  10. Savage had quite a streak of Rumble performances...
91 - no shows, storyline reason scared out of the building by Warrior
92 - Launches himself over during his spot with Roberts, rules change because he's planned to be in near the end.
93 - Launches himself over to give the impression Yokozuna throw him out from his back during a questionable pin attempt.

  11. Bret Hart is the man. He made every angle work. He was awesome in the ring too. The original Hart Foundation was a badass team. His Owen matches were incredible especially Mania. Totally makes Steve Austin at Surivor Series, best match ever possibly. Forms Hart Foundation 2.0 and it is one of the best factions and angles ever. The crowds on both sides of the border were so hot for that angle. Calgary Stampede PPV was ridiculous. And of course, to this day, a company saving angle with the Screwjob. He's been involved in so much great stuff.
Should have found a way to stay, having to leave broke him and WCW ruined him. Billy knocked the shit outta him. Hart was at one point the "3rd" man in the nWo, that wudda been some resume. Had everybody stayed healthy, nWo 2000 I think had some legs under it. Hart, Double J and the Outsiders was a sweet faction, and stayed true to the nWo core of former WWF big dogs. I dug it.
Had great marquee matches with the biggest names in the business......
Savage, Piper, Flair, Sting, Luger, Goldberg, Perfect, Hall, Nash, Sid, Austin, Vader, Mankind, Bulldog, Yoko, Owen, Shamrock and HOGAN PUSSED OUT

  12. Did stuff get cut out or was the show only 30 minutes?

  13. Randy Savage does not care for your Rumble.

  14. Was it Earl Hebner? Cause Earl had way too many instances of just outright stopping his count at 2 and 3 quarters when a wrestler was too slow/stupid to kick out.

Crowd would shit on him everytime for it too.

  15. Bill Alfonso. Shawn had to hop the rail and kind of sputtered, and you can see Alfonso just stop dead in his count looking over Ramon to see Shawn scrambling in.

  16. A quick look at HistoryofWWE shows no other matches. These two matches totaled over half an hour of ring action, not including intros and post match activities. That leaves maybe 6 minutes of fluff, after commercials.
