We Found the SmackDown Fist! - WWE Warehouse - Ep. #2 The wwe kept the smackdown fist. I had no idea it weighed that much nor that it took 1 whole truck just to drive the fist around.
I feel like I shared this clip before, but it's still awesome.
Everyone needs a good fisting.
ReplyDeleteDude, that's why they took it down. It's covered with Lita's cooties.
ReplyDeleteOh come on...that thing would be like a hotdog down a hallway with her.
ReplyDeleteMae Young cheated on Mark Henry with that fist.
ReplyDeleteYou really need to see that fist in person in order to appreciate how big it is.
ReplyDeleteBO-LIEVE!!!
ReplyDeleteYep, they cut out the female Shield fan trying to rush the ring at the beginning. Rollins was trying desperately hard not to smile.
ReplyDeleteI thought Pat Patterson kept it in his home for personal use.
ReplyDeleteIt's all you have to do!
ReplyDeleteI had to look it up just to know what the card was...
ReplyDeleteShield vs. Evolution
Cena vs. Wyatt, 'Last Man Standing'
Sheamus vs. Cesaro, US Title
Barrett vs. RVD, IC Title
Paige vs. Alicia Fox, Divas Title
Rusev vs. Big E
el Torito vs. Hornswoggle, 'Mask vs. Hair' on the Pre-show.
Is that really it? Six matches? I would have to assume Usos vs. Harper/Rowan? Maybe an Adam Rose match?
Definitely agree that Barrett didn't need to take a pin there. No reason they couldn't have done a double DQ or count-out.
ReplyDeleteFurther, I feel like they should really keep those two apart and build to a series of stiff brawls between the two. Maybe culminating in a unification of the IC & US belts
ReplyDeleteBecause WWE.
ReplyDeleteSheamus vs. Cesaro has potential to be a really good match, but neither guy needs to take a loss at this point. I hate the trajectory Cesaro's push is taking at this point
ReplyDeleteThat would work.
ReplyDeleteSo do I.
ReplyDeleteYes you do.
ReplyDeleteThat's what she said.
ReplyDeleteWait -- with only six matches (7 if you include Daniel Bryan v. Stephanie McMahon) and plans to make Rose/Swagger... well, that, you're telling me they couldn't fit on the show??
ReplyDeleteTrue but remember the Shield vs. Evolution match is going to be really long because of the eliminations.
ReplyDeleteThat actually doesn't look like a bad card at all for what is a B show at best.
ReplyDeleteWe'll were going to have a long Stephanie Bryan Brie segment as well
ReplyDeleteI miss the fist.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair I miss anything that gave the shows some sort of individuality.
Cesaro winning off the uppercut and reserving his real finisher for important matches makes me happy
ReplyDeleteI've never understood why people romanticise that monstrosity, I thought it fucking sucked. Giant fist, what's that got to do with anything? Crap.
ReplyDeletefuck off the fist is awesome.
ReplyDeleteyou gotta be fair to the fist.
It actually bothered me for the longest time that those sick-looking uppercuts never finished. Glad that it finally did.
ReplyDeleteSheamus and Barrett should be feuding to unify the secondary titles, not fighting on a throwaway edition of SD.
ReplyDeleteIs it me or does the patriotism stuff just not resonate in 2014? Thinking about it now, hating someone just because they are a foreigner is pretty stupid. Nikita Koloff threatening to win the belt and take it back to the Kremlin made sense though, but in this case Rusev is just Russian. He has no intent to do anything evil. He's just a Russian brother trying to make it.
ReplyDeleteIt works well enough. Anytime you have someone say they're better than everyone else because of where they're from and due to the better training they received there, it's going to work.
ReplyDeleteit was stupid back then, too.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why Usos vs. Harper/Rowan isn't on the Payback card. It seems like such a no-brainer.
ReplyDeleteBecause of their involvement in the Cena-Bray feud, the Usos and Harper/Rowan have been working as many TV main events as anybody in the company over the past month, so since you've been featuring them so prominently on TV during the Payback buildup, it only makes sense that you'd feature them in a prominent spot at the PPV, right? Plus, both teams have been bringing it in the ring; their match at Payback would be one of those sneak-up-on-you Match of the Night contenders.
The only explanation I can think of is that WWE isn't ready to have the Usos drop the tag titles, but they don't want Harper/Rowan to take a clean loss at this point either. I kinda get that, but not really. The Usos have been booked strong enough lately that I don't think it would hurt Harper/Rowan's heat at all to lose -- plus you could always play the angle that they were slightly out of their element without Bray at ringside to coach them.
Consider the source. The McMahons are pretty staunch Republicans, right? That group doesn't seem to have the most evolved view when it comes to foreigners. And that said, I'm now wondering if it's a coincidence that so many brown male wrestlers are jobbers right now:
ReplyDelete-- Big E's push has stalled and he's about to be the latest sacrifice to Rusev.
-- Sin Cara, Xavier Woods, R-Truth and Kofi (with Zack Ryder) are the JOB Squad for every repackaged guy getting a push or new talent brought up from NXT.
-- Titus O'Neil's push lasted like 2 weeks; he's now become a jobber for mid- to upper-card big men. So has Mark Henry to a lesser extent.
-- Los Matadores, Jinder Mahal and Khali are hopelessly far away from ever being taken seriously again.
-- Brodus Clay, Darren Young, and David Otunga are sharing space on a milk carton.
-- Camacho and that lucha tag team with Ricardo Rodriguez are jobbers on NXT.
-- Even Booker T and Teddy Long are being underutilized on TV. They could each have a bigger speaking role.
-- Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio are at best being 50/50 booked with no direction.
-- The only ones really doing well are the Samoans, namely Roman Reigns and The Usos. But they each have legacy in the business.
I feel like that sometimes. Not that they are racists but as you say, don't have the most evolved views when it comes to other cultures. I seriously doubt HHH and mainly Steph have ever been outside of the bubble. She grew up in Greenwich with 1 percenters, went to BC and then joined the company. If she's over creative then no wonder things are how they are.
ReplyDeleteI disagree. You can't just throw a foreign guy on tv and say boo him. I haven't been paying that much attention but hasn't he been going over relatively clean? If so, that just proves his point. What's really to hate?
ReplyDeleteI thought that's where the storyline was heading also.
ReplyDeleteIt's not a bad idea to hold off some feuds for the next special event. Sometimes it's better to let an issue build rather than rushing it to the next special event.
ReplyDeleteI'll third that. I love the Neutralizer, but my god, that Uppercut looks so legit that it Should be a match ender.
ReplyDeleteI don't care about the fist one way or the other, but that set sucked ass. So dark, dismal, depressing. Awful.
ReplyDeleteSmackdown has always had horrible sets. I don't like that blue color scheme for wrestling.
ReplyDeleteAlberto had a mega push for years and a lot of those guys suck. R Truth, Brodus, and Titus could all be doing more.
ReplyDeleteWow...this Smackdown sounds dire. The WWE really needs to freshen things up.
ReplyDeleteRusev isn't even Russian, he's Bulgarian.
ReplyDeleteMost yokels who WWE panders to, probably don't know the difference between Russia and Bulgaria.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit the payback card sounds like a bad episode of raw. Gee game 7 of NHL playoffs, game of thrones or a ppv card I would ffwd through on DVR?
ReplyDeleteMan those guys have dynamite chemistry. No way it's not match of the night. - Much as they are messing up both guys. I figured they were priming Sheamus for a match with Bryan before everything fell apart.
ReplyDeleteMy bad
ReplyDeleteCould be pretty great
ReplyDeleteYeah, true. That will probably take up a half hour in the middle somewhere
ReplyDeleteYeah, I agree. Shield vs. Evolution should be great. Sheamus vs. Cesaro should deliver. I keep waiting for a 4-star Cena-Wyatt brawl. Hopefully this is it. Barrett vs. RVD sounds **-ish to me. Divas match could be quite good.
ReplyDeleteSadly, you are probably underestimating the xenophobia of most casual wrestling fans.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for a Brock-Cesaro payoff down the road. Build that uppercut into a killer finisher, then have Brock eat two of them without going down.
ReplyDeleteTag Title Match
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Payback is on Sky Sports rather than PPV, because other than Shield/Evolution and maybe Sheamus/Cesaro, there's not much worth paying for. Incidentally, before Payback, Sky are showing the UK premiere of NXT Takeover. I wouldn't be shocked if Takeover is the better show.
ReplyDeleteI had no recollection of the fist til I saw this.
ReplyDeleteI said that to my last girlfriend. It didn't go over well there, either.
ReplyDeleteSame here.
ReplyDeleteYOU SON OF A BITCH!!!!!
ReplyDelete/thread
ReplyDeleteYOU HAVE A GIRLFRIEND!?!?!?!?!?!?
ReplyDeleteYOU........SON OF A......uhhh....MOTHER!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe they needed one truck just for that fist alone. Poor wrestlers had to walk under that 3 ton thing.
ReplyDeleteI want to see more warehouse videos....or they could just give tours. I live in Connecticut and have probably driven by it.
I was gonna make that joke with Lita.
