BoD Daily Update

Backstage Heat on Randy Orton

During house show matches against Roman Reigns this weekend, Randy Orton took some heat from members of the locker room for wrestling a "crowd killing" style in the ring. Further more, several guys in the WWE are thinking that Orton is slowing down Reigns' progress to the top as payoffs are down and the days of Cena as the top face are dwindling.

  1. "several guys in the WWE are thinking that Orton is slowing down Reigns'
progress to the top as payoffs are down and the days of Cena as the top
    face are dwindling."

And how would stunting the growth of a rising star help with the already dropping "payoffs"? Randy is one genius I tell ya.

  2. Did anyone else notice that Paige is kind of killing it in her new role?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Viacom: If they're airing it through October, no reason to confirm it's toast now.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Well I guess the thinking is if Roman fails as a face, they'll go back to Orton.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Hate Orton but that one has the feel of made up "newz"

    ReplyDelete
  6. I figured she would. She was a great heel in NXT.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Right. Which will only further plummet "payoffs".

    ReplyDelete
  8. Scherer and Ryder are buddies,so that's why that particular site is keeping up the illusion.

    ReplyDelete
  9. WAY better off as a heel. AJ needs to work on the "face" act though.

First off, Viacom and Spike never "cancelled" Impact. The show was not renewed. Big difference. Spike is doing TNA a huge favor by allowing the remaining shows to air to promote their product and get paid by the TV company. Spike has promoted the shit out of Impact... it's not Spike's fault TNA couldn't draw money when paired with the boom of UFC on Spike during the 2000's. And it's bad company policy to write off a TV show you're still airing as "dead" -- which Impact on Spike is -- until it's done. They're doing TNA another solid by allowing them a small but of leverage with a potential new home.

  13. TJ: Due to budget cuts, the OBSCENELY EXPENSIVE Jeritron 5000 has been pawned, and replaced by a 2nd hand analog TV with antennas.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hasn't Randy Orton gone hand-in-hand with "crowd-killing style" for most of his career?

    ReplyDelete
  15. CruelConnectionNumber2July 29, 2014 at 7:49 AM

    what about Lords of Hurt

    ReplyDelete
  16. I dig Orton, so I'm biased. But the report does read like there's only one source. It's basically one guy bitching and moaning about a couple of boring matches at house shows (shock of all shocks) and saying some of the other boys are mad about it.

It will be interesting to see how Orton handles the situation of Reigns essentially taking his spot as Cena's backup. He has some good years left in the ring, but he might be finding his way further down the card.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hopefully Teddy is a good interview. Dude will have decades of stories that he can share

    ReplyDelete
  18. WAY better off as a heel. AJ needs to work on the "face" act though

    ReplyDelete
  19. Which I think is why guys are complaining? I guess Orton figures if he's on top he's making the most.

    ReplyDelete
  20. He did a Legend of Wrestling roundtable (the only one that hasn't been uploaded I think) with Ross, Dusty, Tony Atlas and Watts and he came across very well and appreciative of the business. A guy that pretty much went from helping with the ring crew before the TBS takings to a 30-year job.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm not sure whose fault it is, but they spent so much time making AJ entertaining that they forgot to make her more likeable. They seem to be gradually correcting the issue, though, with each passing week.

    ReplyDelete
  22. So ppl are mad that Orton cant pull a match out of Reigns?? Thats laughable as it seems impossible at this point to get a one on one watchable match out of him at this pt. I doubt HBK could even do it right now. They wanna strap a rocket to a guy that needs ALOT more seasoning.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I just read it as they think Orton has been shitty and has indirectly slowed Reigns progress up and they desperately need a new top star, which aggravates them.

    ReplyDelete
  24. It would be hilarious, though, if Orton was the source.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I was just about to post the same comment.

    ReplyDelete
  26. In related news, the heat backstage is the best heat Randy has gotten since his heel turn.

    ReplyDelete
  27. If he were around when there multiple competing promotions, Orton strikes me like the kind of guy who, when he's champ, would hold Vince up and threaten to take the belt with him to another company.

    ReplyDelete
  28. *thumbs up* See? I'm generally sweet with a lovely temperament.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yeah, Spike isn't going to announce "We're not bringing the show back!" because think of how many people will just tune out immediately knowing that there is 2 months of TNA Impact left. Spike isn't going to hurt the ratings of a show for the next 2 months when summer ratings on their channel are already down across the board.

Theoretically, Spike and TNA can still be in negotiations up until October even if Spike keeps saying "Dixie, please, please please stop calling us!"

    ReplyDelete
  30. Teddy, two questions. What was your most memorable botch as a referee and what was your favorite tag team match you ever set up?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Alberto Del Rio had a good match with Reigns on Smackdown.

  32. CruelConnectionNumber2July 29, 2014 at 8:11 AM

My name is Roman Reigns. I jump and throw a punch. I do a spear. Kane knows more moves than me and can work better at age 70. I can sell pretty well, though. I might be salvageable.

  39. These are both eee...qual....llyyyyyy brilliant.

    ReplyDelete
  40. For as much as I dislike Orton, he would've been an awesome heel in the original ECW. Establishment guy comes in, feels like he's above it all, and vows to keep these little indy twerps in their place. It'd have money written all over it...well, as long as Heyman wasn't handling the money, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I hope to see a lot of questions from the BoD sent to Teddy Long for his YouShoot

    ReplyDelete
  42. Those poor, poor dogs.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Also, why would advertisers pay for air time on a program that's going to be canned in 3 months? It's probably hard enough to get them as it is.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Problem is when they tell Randy his style is "killing the crowd" he thinks they mean it in the positive cool kid vernacular. "Hey Randy you're killing the crowds bro!". Someone should take the time to over-explain to him the way he is prone to over explaining himself.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yeah, is Vince just now realizing that Orton's headlocks and rest holds bore the shit out of everyone? He's been there, what, 10 years now?

    ReplyDelete
  46. I would just like to state for the record that our reporting the newz that negotiations are still ongoing has NOTHING to do with the fact that I love it when Bob Ryder puts cucumbers up my brown eye.

Also, I own two houses and you don't.

    ReplyDelete
  47. People who like Roman Reigns want to be presented with a package that's bright and shiny. They don't care if he has good or bad matches so I don't seem the problem. If Vince was looking for the best workers/most talented wrestlers to push he has Rollins, Ambrose and Cesaro. He wants a pin up boy calendar model with the right "look". Orton having bad matches with him won't slow his push down at all.

    ReplyDelete
  48. 12 and a half. Plus another year plus under contract in OVW.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Almost positive a report came out that said profits are highest with Orton as champion. Can't source that but I remember reading that somewhere, maybe this site.

    ReplyDelete
  50. For some reason, Reigns' push gives me flashbacks of Diesel's ascension to the top. Vince wants another long haired big guy that would look good in magazine foldouts.

    ReplyDelete
  51. He truly has learned from his father...

    ReplyDelete
  52. For some reason Vince's homoerotic undertones always fascinate me.

    ReplyDelete
  53. But then he cancels that out by lusting for his own daughter.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Oh God, nit this "I'm more intelligent for disliking Roman Reigns" schlock again.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Star ratings are directly proportional to how much money a Rasslin' company makes apparently.

    ReplyDelete
  56. If Reigns ends up peaking at "motivated Nash" I'd honestly be happy with that.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Oh definitely.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I can only like what makes Vince McMahon the most money and not have my own opinions on wrestling and discuss them here. I always forget that.

    ReplyDelete
  59. You BoD Raw guys should give him a Lanny Poffo gimmick.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Boy is this blog overloaded with wwe fan boys. What I said was Reigns push isn't dependent on him having good matches. Its dependent on him being hunky and having the right marketing package behind him.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Well, you can only have one of two extremes. There's no middle ground, you know.

    ReplyDelete
  62. YankeesHoganTripleHFanJuly 29, 2014 at 8:38 AM

What the fuck has Randy done wrong? He killed it last night. Roman is doing just fine getting to the top...The face has to be beaten sometimes

    ReplyDelete
  63. "What I said was Reigns push isn't dependent on him having good matches. Its dependent on him being hunky and having the right marketing package behind him."

In your example of the genre you are presenting your opinions as statements of fact, if you ask this ol' Boomer Sooner.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I think Reigns needs to add a bunch of indy high flying spots to his moveset to engage the crowd more.

    ReplyDelete
  65. In terms of work-rate of hair care?

    ReplyDelete
  66. His somewhat manly daughter, mind you.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Kickpads!!! Multiple layers of kickpads!!!

    ReplyDelete
  68. If they want to hold that true, force him to work programs with Big Show and Khali. Then when he does face a great wrestler have the matches go no contest. And make him a smiling pussy who is all about doing what's right

    ReplyDelete
  69. I hope Devitt does well. I think he's shown he can easily adapt to a more Sports Entertainment style match, plus he has all the cool flips. Just don't call him Fergal. for gods sake.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Eh, I like semi-cunty face AJ. She was still getting big cheers when she acted that way as a heel, too.

    ReplyDelete
  71. She was a lot less manly when he was suggesting incest angles with her.

    ReplyDelete
  72. "Only a sith thinks in extremes... I'll do what I must..." *takes out light saber.

    ReplyDelete
  73. The report is referencing this past weekend's house show matches.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Perhaps she started manning up to be less attractive to him.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I mean, sure, outside of not getting enough torque on his first RKO to break the announce table...

    STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!

    ReplyDelete
  76. AJ's ass will always be a face to me.

    ReplyDelete
  77. There's some world class talent in NXT. I'd even argue that in Devitt, Zayn, Neville and Kenta they have a higher number of full-time top calibre workers than the main shows.

Credit also for the way WWE is announcing these signings. Devitt and Kenta immediately feel like a big deal before they've even appeared on TV. And I'm certain it's not an accident that they're mentioning past achievements and others promotion; it seems they want their audience to actively seek out previous matches.

    ReplyDelete
  78. YankeesHoganTripleHFanJuly 29, 2014 at 8:43 AM

It's a House Show Brian. It's not on TV It doesn't count.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Nicest thing you can say about Vince: "well at least his daughter he wanted to fuck was hot."

    ReplyDelete
  80. So they have 2 separate crews working house shows now? I pay zero attention to house shows but i know they ran weekend shows up here in Edmonton & Calgary and Roman & Randy were not on either of them.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Plus Steen should be getting there soon.

    ReplyDelete
  82. And IMO that's totally HHH's doing. Vince has never wanted to treat outsiders as anything special (with one or two exceptions) and he definitely doesn't acknowledge outside work.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Randy Orton, Vernacular Killer is a gimmick license to print money on the table!

Randy: "'Another bad review from Orton -- 316forever'. Yeah, I'm bad!

What does this one say, 'Orton puts me to sleep -- britney86'. You wish I did! You bad girl! Oowwwwww!"

We just need someone as his sidekick to explain to him what stuff means, teach him road safety, be his date for the prom etc.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I just can't see Steen going anywhere though.

    ReplyDelete
  85. He was just taking it easy, they already the fans money.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I don't know if I necessarily respected it, but I was fascinated by him taking a brief moment after the first RKO and essentially going "fuck this shit" before doing it again. He then proceeds to slam his back into the table (and possibly the monitor) as hard as he could...and Vince and the production crew are happy as they now have their money replay of the table collapsing.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Because HE'S FAT.

    /farva

    ReplyDelete
  88. Don't play stupid.

"People who like Roman Reigns want to be presented with a package that's bright and shiny"

It sounds demeaning to the intelligence of his fans because that'e exactly how you intended it to sound. Get off your high horse.

    ReplyDelete
  89. It would be the greatest thing ever if as soon as they turned the camera on, Teddy announced "I'm making this shoot a tag team match, playa!" and brought in someone to answer questions with him.

    ReplyDelete
  90. He sold it well enough, making it about punishing Reigns. I just thought it was funny.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I can see him going places. Just very slowly and with a lot if wheezing and rest breaks. Maybe a detour for a snack.

    ReplyDelete

T: Actually, we're lookin' for jobs as busboys.
AM: Okay, fill these out and we'll get back to you when something opens up.
MT: Did you hear that, Taz? He said that he wants them to fill out the applications! What could that mean?

MT: Fans, we are maintaining contact with Applebee's and will keep you updated as soon as we hear anything back from them. The powers that be have accepted the contracts, so it should be only a matter of time now.
T: They're applications, not contracts. And they take all of 'em -- it doesn't mean anything.
MT: It was a swerve! The powers that be are stacking the deck against the unemployed! How can they possibly overcome this?

  95. Del Rio had a pretty good match with Reigns at last SD

    ReplyDelete
  96. I vote for KENTA. It'd be a nice role reversal for Japanese guys who are portrayed as childlike just because they don't speak fluent English.

    ReplyDelete
  97. That's what they told Christopher Reeve. (too soon?)

    ReplyDelete
  98. Wrestling is fake. All pushes are part of a marketing package. He's just not as good as performing as others. His ability to go out and have great matches or not isn't necessary for his package. Its his look and presence (and family connections) that they are in love. If you're a fan, good for you. I like him fine as part of a group, don't care for him as a solo act. But that doesn't change the fact they whether or not he has good solo matches with Randy Orton won't affect his push, which is my only point.

    ReplyDelete
  99. i guess ill have to give it a peek, was he in peril the whole match until he hit his 2 moves??

    ReplyDelete
  100. Obiwan underestimated his power. (or he overestimated his).

    ReplyDelete
  101. It's gotta be.

It'll never happen, but an Intercontinental division with these four guys in the mix and I'd be thrilled.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Oh man, I just remembered that Farva was my biggest ally in Anti-Steen sentiment.

    *Pours one out*

    ReplyDelete
  103. The Five Stages of TNA Fanboy Grief:
    1) Denial - "Spike has to be renewing Impact! It draws a million viewers a week! It's huge in the UK! They can't cancel!"
    2) Anger - "Fuck Spike, they never promoted the show anyway."
    3) Bargaining - "Well, Dixie is now saying they're still in negotiations. I guess I'm okay with them staying with Spike, as long as they promote it better." [We are here currently]
    4) Depression - "I can't believe there is only eight weeks of Impacts left..."
    5) Acceptance - "You know what? TNA was awful all along. What was that Aces & Eights shit?"

    ReplyDelete
  104. That's what I find to be the case around here as well.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Rumor has it Orton left a "present" for Reigns in one of his vest pockets.

    ReplyDelete
  106. If HHH fires Dunn after Vince croaks, he will likely become the most beloved person of the IWC, which would be hilariously ironic.

    ReplyDelete
  107. OK fan boy, no need to get so pissy, it's a figure of speech. I'm just saying the push of your new Vince approved favorite wrestler won't be slowed down because of a bad match with Orton because they don't care how good his matches are, because Roman Reigns is about a look or image and not match quality.

    ReplyDelete
  108. That probably explains why he had to buy a new outfit.

    ReplyDelete
  109. And that someone was Ron Simmons.

    ReplyDelete
  110. To be fair, he did make big deals out of Sasuke and Taka.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I think a good recipe for success is maintaining his bad ass persona, which they have done a good job at. Raven once spoke about just having a good beginning and ending to a match and fans forgetting the rest. Having hot finishes will go along way to disguise his shortcomings in the ring. The only big problem is WWE scripts and writes shows and really doesn't "book heat" the way wrestling companies traditionally would.

  115. Worst_in_the_WorldJuly 29, 2014 at 9:08 AM

I agree and disagree to a point.
Totally, Roman Reigns isn't expected to have matches at the caliber (money on the table) of Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, etc. Of course not. Just as Hulk Hogan matches weren't at the level of what Savage and Steamboat could do. Reigns is over because of his look, his presence, pulling off a bad ass attitude, and pulling off a selection of really cool spots. And of course he's been booked super well.

But at the same time, WWE fans in 2014 do expect a certain level of workrate at the main event, even from the bigger guys. As much as fans love all the other stuff about Roman, a big part of what got him over was being a part of 2 years worth of awesome Shield matches. If Roman goes out there and has BAD matches, it'll hurt his overness for sure. Again, not saying he's expected to wrestle at D-Bry level, but someone like Cena is an example of what even the musclemen superhero wrestlers need to do workrate-wise.

So yeah, Orton needs to get his shit together as a veteran and make sure him and Roman have good matches.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Something positive: I'm really stoked they are building Cena - Lesnar as a fight and a wrestling match and not a sports entertainment spectacle. Cena's promo last night was really one of his best.

    ReplyDelete
  117. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 29, 2014 at 9:09 AM

The promo package they're presenting for this was awesome as well.

    ReplyDelete
  118. It certainly wasn't a bad promo, but we've heard that same thing a dozen times from him. It's a bit tiring.

    ReplyDelete
  119. And it's not chocolate.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Years ago, I said that Orton would be a great heel for WWE's relaunched "ECW", for exactly the reason you mentioned.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Well for example, Ric Flair basically cut the exact same promo for the better part of 15 years. He's rich, he's awesome, he gets lots of chics, wooooooo!!

    ReplyDelete
  122. Just wait till WCW1987 takes a look at this.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Worst_in_the_WorldJuly 29, 2014 at 9:11 AM

Yeah that was an excellent beatdown last week, and very solid promo last night. She seems 100x more comfortable as a heel.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Welcome to the BoD Tenay!

    ReplyDelete
  125. It's about manufacturing drama and creating a sense of urgency, Flair always did that, and Cena did it last night.

    ReplyDelete
  126. I'm more afraid of what happens when he sees the "Mike Tenay" post right below this.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Yes his persona as a quiet but cool and rugged and tough but handsome for the ladies badass is his gimmick (I think that's a fair representation of it right?) and that's what he needs to maintain. Stuff like the puke coffee or doing too much smiling babyface stuff that could eventually kill that image with the fans is what he needs to watch out for. Good or bad matches with Orton will have no impact on his overness or heat IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Worst_in_the_WorldJuly 29, 2014 at 9:12 AM

Wasn't he a heel on that show after Mania 22? I feel like he had a feud with Angle on ECW when it first rebooted.

    ReplyDelete
  129. I like Reigns and Orton is an okay worker but the idea of a Reigns vs Orton house show match just sounds incredibly unexciting.

    ReplyDelete
  130. I wonder if he's at #3 yet or if he's still in #2 or even #1.

    ReplyDelete
  131. MikeyMike, WitnessJuly 29, 2014 at 9:13 AM

It's certainly something I wouldn't pay to go say. I don't think there's any chance I go to another house show.

    ReplyDelete
  132. agree 100%, men want to be him, girls want to be with him. A bad match with Orton won't matter but too many coffee skits just might. Sheamus is the example of how badly it can go wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Worst_in_the_WorldJuly 29, 2014 at 9:13 AM

Yeah the Cena/Heyman segment followed by Cena/Cesaro was awesome stuff.

And did you see the Cena/Lesnar commercial they ran? Billing it as the biggest fight of the summer. Looked straight out of a UFC type promo. Great stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  134. With the way he talks about it, it sounds like he's still at one.

    ReplyDelete
  135. It's been that way for years, probably since 1999 or 2000.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Being rich, awesome and getting a lot of chicks is a lot more renewable than being a loyal, respectful hustler who constantly never-gives-up.

    ReplyDelete
  137. By "here", you mean, "The internet", right?

    ReplyDelete
  138. I'm shocked they used the word "fight". That had to be Heyman or Lesnars suggestion.

  139. I don't know much about anything, but I know TMZ is almost always right.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Cena is way, way better when he isn't acting like a big goober out there. He really is awesome at pretty much everything, to be honest. It's just the poopy joke-Cena that's embarrassing. It took me...oh...about 11 years to like the guy, but he's finally held me down for so long that I finally let him take it.

    That sounds a bit rape-y.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Longer. Back in the 1980s, they had THREE tours going on simultaneously.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Wow, definitely not a fan, I guess.

I agree that he's far from ready to be working twenty-minute main events, but I don't think he's as awful as you say. As others have said, he had a good match with Del Rio last week, and I'm sure that guys like Ziggler, Cesaro, Sheamus, and Cena could have good matches with him.

    ReplyDelete
  143. There's a pretty good segment of the blog who would rather see Ambrose (was he even on raw last night?) get the rocket push instead.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I would, it was fun when I went to one in 10.

    ReplyDelete
  145. And my only point was that you are complaining about not being able to state your opinion, yet you are presenting those opinions as irrefutable statements.

You can't have it both ways.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Apropos of nothing, I have a false memory of Tazz on commentary in WWE singing "Daniel Bryyyyan Daniel Bryyyyyan Daniel BRYYYYYan" to Bryan's intro music, even though it is 0% possible that it ever happened.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Glad that WWE is FINALLY seeing the staleness of Cena.

    ReplyDelete
  148. $5 says Devitt will be teaming with Sheamus in a year as "The Fellas, Fella!"

    ReplyDelete
  149. I didn't really sense anything different from Cena last night, either. The bottom line for me, though, is that I have been sold on the match from the moment it was announced. I don't care how great or paint-by-the-numbers the promos are (unless we get some photoshop magic or bad impersonations from Cena).

Yeah so far they're doing an excellent job of building this match. They got my money! (Well, they had it 6 months ago.)

    Exactly.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Yeah. It might be true that they're still technically negotiating, but at this late in the game Spike execs must have said (at the very least) that they aren't renewing the deal on the current terms. If Spike was all about the show it would've been renewed months ago.

This much is true: as of TMZ's announcement (and as of this moment too), TNA Impact does not have a new deal for Impact.

  153. The sad part is, I can actually see Tenay doing that.
    It just seems depressing.

Ooh, they can make a group with Brie Bella and Bo Dallas. They can call then selves, "Fella, Fella, Bo Bella..."

  155. he did more than 2 moves, mostly controlled by ADR who was pretty impressive must admit.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Yeah but that was, "Getting My Ass Kicked By Turner and am Trying Everything" Vince.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Is it really all that more silly than Rybaxel?

    ReplyDelete
  158. Difference is, back in the 80's, it was basically the only option to see competitive matches. Now, you get 5 hours of free competitive matches every week, and they all have more importance than any house show matches. So really, unless you wanna buy a Cena wrist band, or see how big that Big Show really looks in person, there's almost zero incentive to go to a house show anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Completely agree.

Really, has Vince EVER pushed someone so hard, for so long, that just absolutely bores the crowd as much as Orton? Sure, he had a few hot periods, but the vast majority of the last ten years has been totally lukewarm reactions.

    ReplyDelete
  160. I'd also say Ambrose doesn't need to have great matches to get over as a superstar (but to usurp guys like Reigns and DBs spot he will need to) but he's much better in the ring so its not an issue. As long as Reigns is made to look like a quite but cool and tough and rugged but sexy bad ass he's fine. I don't know that the fans would reject him wholesale if he just went out and had average matches. (I think he's clearly good enough and the wwe in ring booking is good enough that he's not going to have Dave Sullivan level DUD matches) I think reigns can survive having **1\4 17 minute matches because of his total marketing package.

Now having said that if Orton is purposely trying to fuck his growth up in the ring or cool him off to the fans I think that's bullshit and he should be punished or at least taken off the road. Its not Reigns fault Vince is fucking guys on payoffs. Use some of that Orton clout and stand up to Vince to his face for all the boys (and girls).

    ReplyDelete
  161. Well, Jef's name sounds cooler.

  162. I'm at #0 because nothing is factual yet or even close to accurate.

I'm awaiting someone to say: "Well still at #1 then."

  163. It still boggles my mind how much Dixie loves Russo. I mean why???

  164. Don't look below.

At this point TNA needs to shut up and search for a deal. Doesn't matter if it's Public Access, UHF or some pirate TV station. Just get on a network in the US and work from there. People who like them will cape, those that hate them will bash..but at least they have gotten attention.

    ...or IS she?!?!

  170. "You ever heard of this new group called THE JACKSON FIVE????!!! A----B----C.....WHATAMANUEVER!!!!!"

    ReplyDelete
  171. Yeah they faced each other at One Night Stand & Vengeance right before Kurt left the company in August.

    ReplyDelete
  172. I've always been of the mindset that Dixie had a dong.

    ReplyDelete
  173. Hey, Russo is conceited enough that he thought it would be a logical storyline for him to be the father of Stacy Kiebler's baby. Cause Russo is ALL MAN!

    ReplyDelete
  174. They are still working with Spike. TNA wants $100,000 an hour, Spike old deal with them is $65,000. Spike offered like $85,000 before they found out about Russo which left them offering $65,000 in a take it or leave it deal. Dixie called their bluff by saying they have other networks interested in the deal.

That's where they are at right now....supposedly.

    ReplyDelete
  175. No I'm responding to a docuhey response to my opinion that said "star ratings are directly proportional to how much money a rasslin company makes"

I don't care what makes Vince the most money, I'm a fan, why would I? I want the best product to watch possible. In my opinion that means good matches. However it's a fact that Roman Reigns isn't being pushed because of his in ring ability. If you think that's just an opinion and not a fact then no offense, but you're wrong/

How the fuck did you find THIS out?
    Are you Rock Star Spud?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  177. Well, I can't unseen that now.

    ReplyDelete
  178. UHF...they should hire Weird Al as booker.

    ReplyDelete
  179. Eh, depending on if you think Lucas is a deep thinker or not, but Anakin used the jumping flip move like 3 times against Obi-Wan in the same fight. So Obi had it scouted out already.

Granted, the line was stupid as all hell.

In the book, Obi-Wan notes that he has a significantly higher ground advantage (like by a foot or so), so he warns Anakin not to try it. But he does anyways and gets rewarded with 3 limbs sliced off.

What TNA Is Telling Talent About Impact Wrestling On Spike TV

JULY 28, 2014 BY RICHARD GRAY

I’m told many contracted TNA performers were caught off-guard by the TMZ report thatSpike TV had canceled Impact Wrestling.

The company sent out an email to talent on Monday, explaining that negotiations with Spike are still ongoing and they are also talking with other networks. The story making rounds is that Spike is offering less than what they want but the UTA representative is negotiating the gap.

While figures aren’t being thrown around, I previously reported that Spike is currently paying TNA $65,000 an hour and TNA wants $100,000 per hour.

At this point, talent is being told not to talk to third parties about the company’s domestic TV deal. They’ve been advised to direct their questions in-house and will be given information when it is available.

    ReplyDelete
  183. Well, this much is fact: as of TMZ's announcement (and as of this moment too), TNA does not have a new deal for Impact. Otherwise there wouldn't be any need for "negotiations" (whether or not those are actually going on).

    ReplyDelete
  184. He's probably wearing a bright pajama suit as we speak.

    ReplyDelete
  185. I guess Spike calling her bluff would've been a better example.

    ReplyDelete
  186. Charismatic eNegro Jef VinsonJuly 29, 2014 at 9:29 AM

Spud, where do you get those suits from? Are they expensive?

    ReplyDelete
  187. From Matthew Lesko.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Well yeah but they aren't cancelled either. Both Viacom and TNA have openly said that they are in negotiations still.

    ReplyDelete
  189. Charismatic eNegro Jef VinsonJuly 29, 2014 at 9:32 AM

Why would you get the suits when he has a book about fixing your finances? Don't you think TNA needs that more?
I swear, your priorities are out of whack.

    ReplyDelete
  190. Wait Dixie had the balls to ask for MORE money?!?

    ReplyDelete
  191. NEVER REPEAT THE SPOT!

    ReplyDelete
  192. Charismatic eNegro Jef VinsonJuly 29, 2014 at 9:32 AM

Well, the rumor in this thread HAS been about her having balls, so...

    ReplyDelete
  193. Probably if you have little kids is the only reason.

    ReplyDelete
  194. You know what would be a cool feature for the Network? A RAW/SD recap show that's; like 2 hours total long and just shows the best matches and segments from each week's episode.

    ReplyDelete
  195. For the record, I like your posts. I tend to put you, Brazil, and Abey in the same category as guys that post a lot but have good intentions.

I'd still advise you to keep away from some of the sharks around here for a couple of days. But if you can let their comments roll of your back, then all the more power to you.

    ReplyDelete
  196. Could someone please tell me what angle the original Vince clip is from?

    ReplyDelete
  197. Yes and she was going to get it before the Russo thing, which I don't; believe the Russo thing 100%.
