Although I'm pretty sure WWE will play them as heels -- because, well, they're fed-up Black guys and therefore bad -- technically Woods' beef is with the Authority. So they come to HHH demanding respect, and he siccs Kane on them.
that's one of the frustrating things with the writing. HHH doesn't really have a beef with the people he's feuding with or at least shouldn't. He's not feuding with the guys that have an issue with him or him with them.
It made sense when Vince didn't want Austin to be champ. He didn't want redneck trash to be the face of his company when he'd been trying to shake that stigma from the business for 15 years. I don't see why HHH would have a beef with any of the top contenders, heel or face.
Here's a scary thought: Lesnar beats Cena for the title at SummerSlam. Reigns wins the Royal Rumble. Reigns goes on to beat Lesnar for the belt in an absolute war... only to have Rollins come out, cash in the MitB briefcase, and steal the title away from Reigns. The Authority wins again.
Maybe WWE still thinks of Cena as "hip-hop," and hip-hop is still considered anti-authority, so that's the connection. Which would be kinda stupidly brilliant because then HHH is recalling his "people like you" persona from the Booker T feud.
Ending WM with a heel champ is rare, and I don't think Rollins is quite on that level yet. I think Reigns will win the title, Rollins will cash-in sometime after WM and lose due to Ambrose interference, which sets up a triple threat title match between Reigns, Ambrose and Rollins.
Exactly, that's why Austin was a perfectly timed character that was a hit and none of this is connecting. It was even a stretch with Bryan. Now it's just stupid against Cena.

Sadly, I think so. I don't mind Triple H's creative work behind the scenes, especially since he's been big in creating talents in NXT and appears to want to make the divas division legitimate. However, I really, REALLY don't want to be subjected to 20 minute+ Triple H promos for the next 30 years.
Yeah, they didn't come out and say "Austin is a redneck and we hate him," but McMahon hating Austin's dress and "colorful language" irked him the most after WrestleMania.
Oh god, I hope not. Kane really doesn't do much for putting over new acts. I think the new NOD should band together and win the tag titles first and then try to go after the IC or World title. Not sure if they are going to get that prominent of a push, though. The original NOD only won the IC title and that was when the Rock won via forfeit from Austin in December 1997.
He's already a part of this angle. Making himself referee isn't interjecting himself into the angle, it's continuing with him in it, just like when it started.

But having you be the world champion is bad for business. People are sick of you and your stale act and with you at the top there's no room for youngsters like Cesaro and Seth Rollins and Randy Orton to grow. What will we be left with when you leave if you're king of the mountain when you do? An empty mountain top. I appreciate everything you've done for us, John, but you not being champion is best for business." And sold.
I would guess that HHH and those around him believe he NEEDS to be there. Like his star power is helping keep WWE out of ratings and financial trouble.
I'm kind of digging this but it would just turn him babyface. Plus, it needs to have more corporate-ese nonsense. Break out a bunch of charts and powerpoints that make no sense saying how Cena is not best for business anymore. It may lose the fans but I'll laugh.
He's the COO, why would he have personal beefs with the talent let alone interact with them? I'll give you D-Bryan but the rest really don't make much sense. He may have petty beefs with them but why would you keep yourself from making as much money as possible cause you don't like someone? That's where the confusion is. If he were a wrestler then this would make sense. As an executive why the fuck would you care? Vince's beef with Austin was business that turned personal. HHH beefs are all personal.

Because she's the owner and he's the COO, she has more power than him, so out of anger she books him in a match with Reigns at SummerSlam. HHH loses that match and goes away from TV for a while.

He's a villain, he holds grudges, he justifies his hatred for people but he's a petty bastard who resents people for their success and their independence. He doesn't fear Orton because he can beat Orton. Triple H couldn't beat Reigns and he doesn't have a great record against Cena, they don't need him the way Orton does, the way Seth Rollins would.
Triple H is an egomaniac that can't stand by and let himself be the paper pusher, he needs to be in charge.
It's perfectly reasonable. Cena is invincible and stubborn to a fault and Reigns is a cocky young badass who doesn't back down from anybody. Triple H hates them for that, he wants a whipped champion.
He beat Brock and he beat Orton. Plus Brock is pliable, he does what he's told (or rather what Paul tells him, and Hunter can boss Heyman around). And Brock is best for business because Brock believes in business, Cena and Reigns are irrational, they're emotional, they're heroes who go off and start punching people if they're upset, Brock doesn't get upset because Brock doesn't care.
And Orton is so reliant on the Authority for help with matches/emotional support, plus the old history with Evolution, he can control Orton too.
