Goodbye to 39…

Depending on your time zone I might already be 40 by the time you read this, so BOO for that.

Anyway, I’m trying to put together a fund to buy a Wii U for my birthday, so if you’d like to donate I have a button below.  Not exactly world-changing, I know, but DAMMIT I want to play Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D World.

Back to the blog!

Just like Hulk Hogan in WCW, you're just hitting your prime >_>

  2. Nothing says 40 like a Wii U and Mario Kart! And I mean that with a ton of affection.

Happy Birthday, Leader of the Blogosphere.

Happy birthday Scott. Thanks for the rants. You've helped me discover a lot of cool matches that I probably would have been too lazy to look for on my own.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Well I was going to donate to a fund to cure childhood cancer....

    ReplyDelete
  6. I remember reading your rants when you were in your early 20s

    ReplyDelete
  7. COME AT SCOTT! HE'S A MAN! HE'S 40!!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Victory Road 2011? Me too.

    ReplyDelete
  9. It was good, I wouldn't call it great. It was his best match in TNA.

    ReplyDelete
  10. i liked the one with jeff hardy a couple years back

    ReplyDelete
  11. Victory Road, a five star classic.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Bret should have retired after the Owen tribute.

He really didn't need to be associated with all that Russo shit.

    ReplyDelete
  13. It was so much fun to boo him.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Montreal really broke is wrestling spirit. Owen's death was the nail in the coffin.

Adios, muchachos. I got me a lady and everything.

*dims the lights, turns on the boom-chick-a-wow-wow music, turns the computer off*

    ReplyDelete
  16. It would've been worse if they actually wrestled a match. Yes, even if Hardy was sober.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I agree. Or at least, after Montreal he stopped really caring and WCW was the last place for a guy like that.

    ReplyDelete
  18. WCW WAS the place for people who stopped caring.

  20. Hogan can't even job in a monster truck match.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Happy Birthday!

Wow, that makes me feel old... I started reading your stuff when you were in your mid-20s

    ReplyDelete
  22. No way I would allow myself to lose the VERY FIRST monster truck match if I'm in Hogan's position either. You take that W, brother.

  23. DDP on Nitro?

I forgot Manny was in tow, I saw like six squad-car SUVs come up the street towards AT&T this afternoon and was like WHAT THE FUCK?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Then he commits a little manslaugter.

    Best WCW show ever.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I hated Sting in TNA. He clogged up the main event spots and constantly had shitty matches.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yep, since day one.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Tell that to Booker T, Norman Smiley and Mike Sanders.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yeah, and it was honestly his only great match since.......1995-96?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Happy Birthday to my favorite author.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Best of luck in your donation effort. You deserve it.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Happy birthday. Good luck with getting the Wii U.

    ReplyDelete
  35. You sir, win 1000 internets

    ReplyDelete
  36. Happy Birthday, Scott! Welcome to middle-agedom. Sometimes it's fine, sometimes it sucks. Kinda like WCW circa 1991 ;)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Happy birthday Scott! Do a birthday rant!

    I SAID DO IT!

  38. I legit had no idea you were 40. Especially with a kid. That's a huge compliment by the way.

    ReplyDelete
  39. THAT AIN'T TRUE!

As someone who lives 50 miles from Stillwater and Mike Gundy, I just have to say he's awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I am rapidly running out of patience with the Network for not adding classic NWA/JCP shows yet. World Championship Wrestling on TBS and Worldwide were staples on the 24/7 service so there is no reason for them not to be added.

    ReplyDelete
  41. And you sir, are welcomed to the BoD!

    ReplyDelete
  42. You're only 2 years younger than the Great Khali.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY

    ReplyDelete
  43. Happy Birthday Scott!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Happy birthday Scott...I'll be joining you in the big 40 club in 4 years myself. Have a good one, bro

  49. Have a good one Scott. You're very lucky to have a family that's cool with you playing video games at 40. I'm nearly 30 and have to contend with my girl's threats to smash my PS4 every day

    ReplyDelete
  50. Happy Birthday Scott! Maybe if you started a kickstarter for money for ingredients to make potato salad then you could own half of Nintendo.

    ReplyDelete
  51. happy birthday scott. I don't usually post that often but I do read the site. Thanks for all the years reviewing wrestling.

I love my wii u. I don't have mario 3d world but I got windwaker and mario bros. I can't wait till Smash bros comes out soon.

  65. I don't typically remember or care about the pseudo-inspirational BS posts I see on facebook, but i saw one this morning that is appropriate:

Do not regret getting older, as it is a privilege denied to many.

    Happy birthday.

  66. inb4 you sent 50 cents

    ReplyDelete
  67. When you get a Wii U, buy Shovel Knight and Duck Tales.

  68. Terry Taylor was a good worker who didn't have the charisma to reach the main event level. He was a reliable midcard face/heel but he was someone who should have never went to the WWF. He had neither the size, the charisma, nor the persona to make a real impact there. Some people were just ill-fitted for some territories.
