Specifically citing this quick interview (http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/wrestling/os-hulkster-back-on-track-looking-for-one-more-match-20140822,0,7466942.post ) where he has a chance to put some caveats on his "one last match" rhetoric, is the Hulkster the single most legendary spin artist of all time or has he ACTUALLY learned something from age and suffering?
Oh sure, and Andre was totally 900 pounds when Hulk slammed him in front of 200,000 people too, brother.
Hulk Hogan's an asshole.
ReplyDeleteHogan is like the source of your screen name.
ReplyDeleteYeah... you know what? He's actually more of an asshole than Mr. Satan. He never would have made friends with Majin Buu.
ReplyDeleteYes he would, but Majin Buu would have eventually turn on him for taking advantage of his naivete.
ReplyDeleteAh Hulk Hogan. The former almost bass player for Metallica. The guy that picked up and slammed 12,000 pound Andre the Giant in front of an audience of 1 million fans that packed into the Silverdome.
ReplyDeleteHe can't wrestle. He can barely walk. Therefore, I wanna see it happen. His body would likely crumble if he did the atomic leg drop.
ReplyDeleteYes...Hulk Hogan spent most of his adult life wrestling. He wants to wrestle one more time...With that out of the way can we discuss Maya on GMW? I mean I am pretty sure she's a virgin but what with the parent issues, and her experience on the subway she has had some fingers down there right?
ReplyDeleteHogan is awesome - he lives and breathes his character even at 80 years old and we're all going to miss him when he dies. I'd be cool with seeing him do the Hulking Up routine one last last last last last time
ReplyDeleteWhat's the most matches a wrestler has had in one day? Like a TV taping, big tournament, etc. Hogan's "more than 365 matches in a year, time zones, brother!" comment made me wonder.
ReplyDelete... But he is Immortal....
ReplyDeleteHogan would've claimed he reversed Buu's candy beam and ate him, brother.
ReplyDeleteHogan may only wrestle again if we get the US debut of the AXE BOMBAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
ReplyDeleteSuperdome.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure there's no definitive answer, but I assume it would have been in the old territory days when guys would regularly wrestle two or three matches. I'm sure some guy had a battle royal, a single, a tag and then jobbed under a mask.
ReplyDeleteSavage, Savio, and Foley at 4 'til someone tops it.
ReplyDeleteThe thing that struck me about Hogan since he started this "one more match" thing is his saying that the leg drop was a mistake and he really should have made the sleeperhold or the axe bomber as a finish because it made no sense for him to talk up his 24 INCH PYTHONS BROTHER and use a big boot and leg drop as a finish.
ReplyDeleteIt was a rare moment of self-awareness.
I may get a lot of flack for this post but there is something endearing about Hogan that you don't see too often among wrestlers.
ReplyDeleteHogan rarely seems to be bitter about life, doesn't hold grudges, and generally seems to be an upbeat positive person.
I only read the first couple of paragraphs but it was one hell of a babyface promo. Don't know if his body can take it but I'm down for one more run if this is the character he's going to run with.
ReplyDeleteTriple H worked 5 shit matches on an episode of Smackdown in 1999.
ReplyDeleteHe used the Axe Bomber in a match against Terry Funk.
ReplyDeleteI'm not remotely interested in ever seeing Hogan step foot in a ring again. I could give a flying fuck about Hulkamania.
ReplyDeleteI've been feeling that way since 1989!
ReplyDeleteBenoit did that two out of three falls match with Angle and then later had to team with Jericho in that tag team turmoil match.
ReplyDeleteYeah, technically it's only two matches, but the first went for three falls and the other was at least three tag teams he had to face?
Who is Maya and what is GMW?
ReplyDeleteAnd against Paul Roma at Survivor Series 1990.
ReplyDeleteDont knowbut isnt the first time he posted that today.
ReplyDeleteMy feelings ever since he insisted on going over the best performer in the business at the time, Shawn Michaels, which was less believable than Zack Gowen going over Matt Hardy
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that. Did he yell AXE BOMBAHHHHHHH! before he did it?
ReplyDelete"Hogan rarely seems to be bitter about life"
ReplyDeleteWell when you exaggerate everything about your achievements in your mind, what's to feel bitter about?
Don't make fun of the Andre thing; he died the day after Hogan slammed him, so show some respect
ReplyDeleteNo. But I know I did when I rewatched it. AXE BOMBAAAAAAHHHHHHHH. Just like any US Liger match isn't complete without muting the sound and screaming LIIIIIGAAAAAAH BOOOOMMMAAAAAHH
ReplyDeleteDude's been "working" one way or another for the past 35 years... he's got it down by now.
ReplyDeleteEven in the panels he does... he passes off some of his praise onto others. He tried like hell to put over Cesaro for slamming Big Show over the top rope at WM.
ReplyDeleteHe's like a grandpa now. He's a lovable novelty. I think he's embraced that role now. Something he should have done 15 years ago.
ReplyDeleteIt was such a shit show that Undertaker left the business that night and joined a biker gang.
ReplyDeleteJust when you think talking wrestling on the internet can't get any dorkier...
ReplyDeleteOy vey.
ReplyDeleteIt's the punches beforehand that does it. The big boot and legdrop are just icing on the cake.
ReplyDeleteHe was only in his late-40s 15 years ago! Maybe he didn't need to be main eventing, but there was no reason for him to be a lovable grandpa novelty in 1999.
ReplyDeleteYeah, and it was the 80s when this stuff was all taken way less seriously, but I think that's why I was genuinely shocked to hear him actually mention that his finishing sequence was really dumb and incongruent with his whole schtick.
ReplyDeleteThreadjack - Vince McMahon turns 69 today, which is the same age Vince Sr passed away at.
ReplyDeleteVince will die in the next 365 days wont he :( No way Vinnie Mac turns down the chance to die at such an iconic age.
