Hey Scott,
Just wanted to pass along that my WWE Network expired earlier this week, but I still have access to the shows on Xbox 360. Just wanted to point that out and see if anyone else is having that same access.
Thanks!
That's not a bug, it's a feature! What they're doing is giving you your free trial week at the END of your subscription, after you've already paid for it. Some might call this scummy, we just call it business as usual for WWE.
Might be because you did the week long trial at the beginning. I thought the same thing but realized I had an extra week and it expires on the 3rd. Then again, maybe not.
ReplyDeleteI find it funny that people think that they're going to have the WWE Network for free forever and somehow beat a glitch.
ReplyDeleteI got an email from them with the subject line "Come back to the WWE Network!" like they were a jilted lover or something.
ReplyDeleteNot forever, but that they have it at all amuses them. But I go with Doctor's explanation below.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the WWE Network. FOR ONLY... $0.00!!!
ReplyDeleteIf this isn't intentional, this is another piece of evidence for how the company has no idea how to run the Network.
ReplyDelete"The local market sells their sugar for $.50 a pound, and it doesn't have nails and broken glass in it."
ReplyDelete"Those are prizes!"
Isn't there a report floating around how a few people have basically got the Network for free since February?
ReplyDeletelove that ending, and the amazing heel heat! you never see that anymore :(. I wish the fans pelted the ring with garbage like the NWO days.
ReplyDeletethey will probably hit the switch at 7:59 pm the night of noc to get ppl to reup if they were really shrewd. Ppl will think their getting it for free, may have a feww ppl over and wham it goes off air.
ReplyDeleteHa, that's a great point.
ReplyDeleteBaby come back, any kind of fool could see
ReplyDeleteThere was something in everything about you
Baby come back, you can blame it all on me
I was wrong, and I just can't live without you
Newspapers have done this for decades. You get something extra and feel more ggod will to renew. It's a pretty relatively cheap advertising ploy.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of the guy on here a few weeks ago who said he stopped paying his WCW Magazine subscription in like 1996 or so and continued getting the magazine until they went out of business.
ReplyDeleteHaven't read that but lucky for them. I enjoy the network regardless of its issues and will be renewing soon. Yeah it could have more content but they eventually will add it. It would be disappointing to me if we didn't have any older shows to look forward to being released. I am praying for some Prime Time. PLEASE.
ReplyDeleteI sent the email. I signed up Day 1, got the email that my sub was ending I think last Monday? Went on today to see what's been added, clicked a show and it started to play. Went to see if I've been charged and haven't. I don't expect it to last, but still.
ReplyDeleteI nicked it when you let your guard down for that split second. And I'll do it again.
ReplyDeleteWatching Steen's final PWG match, looks like he's taken the WWE deal seriously and has shed quite a few lbs. That gut has shrunk down.
ReplyDeleteAlso of note: Chris Hero is on this show and he is HUGE. Like gave up on life huge. Glad Hunter canned his ass
Yep, I don't blame HHH at all. I mean it's not just that he wasn't a bodybuilder, but really, he was already showing lazy tendencies BEFORE even being brought up to the big leagues? Major red flag there.
ReplyDeleteHow didn't Hero take his deal seriously, dude was in the best shape of his life.
ReplyDeleteWhat some consider best shape of his life, still wasent good enough in the E's eye. Plus, once you start bitching about not getting a fair shake, and out loud about it, you're already one foot out the door at that point
ReplyDeleteHe hasn't bitched or said one negative thing since he was let go.
ReplyDeleteI was gonna say, he's been pretty classy about the whole deal, hasn't he? But yeah, if they tell you to get in better shape...at least fucking try.
ReplyDeleteWhether or not they were right to ask that of him is really irrelevant. Yes, there are fatter guys who've not been asked the same of them. But if they have a vision for what they want you to be and it doesn't include being a sloppy fat guy, hit the goddamn treadmill.
Lots of indy guys seem to have an incredibly delusional sense of entitlement. Like they think because they've had high star ratings in front of 75 people, they know everything about the business.
ReplyDeleteI don't really see Hero as one of those guys. He's not said a bad word about wwe after his release and seems to be all around very humble and cool. I met him at a local indy show about a month ago and he was all smiles and cool as fuck with the fans that he met.
ReplyDeleteI got the same email even though I renewed weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteI'm not talking about after, i'm talking about what led to his release. Basically ignoring the boss's orders, because he felt he knew everything and could do whatever he wanted, because he was so damn awesome.
ReplyDeleteWWE network is such a slut.
ReplyDeleteDon't think that's unique to wrestling magazines: my ESPN Insider sub has been lapsed for at least a year, but I still get ESPN the magazine (a bonus feature of Insider membership).
ReplyDeleteWWE Network.
ReplyDeleteThen.
Now.
Forever Free.
Looks pretty good to me. Then again, I'm not a billionaire with a bodybuilder fetish or a COO with a leather-clad transvestite jones.
ReplyDeleteWas referring to his last few months when he was still officially there. He has been nothing but classy and cordial since he's left
ReplyDeleteThen after all those chilli dogs....
ReplyDeleteHe never bitched when he was employed either.
ReplyDeletePlus his signing took MONTHS because of his abnormal but natural testosterone levels. The WWE WANTED Hero. They didn't need him or take him because they could. There was no reason to sign an Indy guy on the wrong side of the aging curve unless you really WANT him, especially after the drama regarding his physical.
ReplyDeleteTo have them jump through hoops to sign you and then get lazy is spitting in their face.
The only person who is a bigger lazy f*ck than Chris Hero is Brock Lesnar. [/Baker]
ReplyDeleteI'm now in better shape than Chris Hero. That's awesome
ReplyDelete- "Slingshot dick to the face" and Dibiase being the 5th Horseman made me laugh
ReplyDelete-That's an amazing Randy Savage promo
-I've always loved that mid-air powerslam spot Rick would do to counter a Doomsday Device; the one at Wrestlemania IX was great, too.
This was the first and only Nitro I tried to review for RSPW. Go on, look it up on Google Groups.
ReplyDeleteRelated note: the second Nitro is apparently on the Network now. Why not the first one? Oh wait! It's because #2 was seen on 9/11/1995, so WWE retroactively made that the first episode as if to say Nitro premiering was as bad a terrorist attack as 9/11!!!!
It's not unheard of, I haven't paid for the NHL Network for like, I don't even know how many years and still receive it, ditto my SiriusXM subscription, I haven't given them a dime since Bush was in office and all three of my radios still work.
ReplyDeleteIf I remember right a bunch of people stopped paying on their cards somehow and were still subscribed even though they hadn't paid. I feel like the number of people that did this was crazy huge, like in the tens of thousands.
ReplyDeleteShit.
ReplyDeleteSame here, via my Apple TV.
The hell?
Man, they were quick enough to stop sending me the magazine.
ReplyDeleteI'm with them every night and they don't send me emails. It's like they don't even care about me.
ReplyDeleteI don't get why anyone would unsubscribe. You're not mildy interested in Night of Champions or the potential of Brock and Cena in the Cell?
ReplyDeleteIf you watched Nitro that night, you let the terrorists win!
ReplyDeleteHow is this scummy? If anything, they're doing this in case users forgot to renew so that the service isn't disrupted in the meantime (also decreases the chances of users leaving).
ReplyDeleteNo and no. Hence, I'm unsubscribing.
ReplyDeleteMakes me wonder if WWE counts those "unpaid subs" in their subscriber count for the quarter.
ReplyDeleteSo, you don't resubscribe, but they let you keep watching until next quarter flips just to keep you in their count at end of quarter. (Such as how wrestling has always padded their attendance numbers with comps)
Wait, why is this scummy? It's entirely possible that, since they promoted a free week at the beginning of the sign-ups, that they are tacking on an extra week at the end. It's not an unheard-of practice.
ReplyDeleteIt's not. Iwctards need to complain about everything the wwe does. CM Punk could come back tomorrow and beat Brock lesnar clean as a sheet and they'd complain that Brock is wasted and punk should've stayed home. Daniel Bryan could murder HHH and Stephanie and take the company from Vince in a violent coupe and they'd complain that he didn't kill HHH on camera. It's the nature of the beast. WWE is a big corporation which means they are evil scum that are trying to ruin wrestling.
ReplyDeleteThey would if they were given a reason to do so.
ReplyDeleteScott, this isn't scummy.
ReplyDeleteWhen I cancelled my month which was supposed to end at the 16th, it was extended through the 21st, presumably for NOC as well. Maybe they're just nice and really want you to resubscribe?
