Yeah, but you have to remember I'm an unapologetic HHH mark and can tolerate Orton.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, as far as elevating guys, I think it all comes back to what I wrote about last week: too much TV time to fill, overexposing too many acts too quickly. Plus, Punk and Bryan are supposed to be in that rarefied air with Cena right now and, well, we know what's happened there.
They do have five huge trump cards, talent-wise, sitting in NXT right now. And I don't expect those guys to stay there long. The 2015 midcard is going to be a LOT better.
I'm gonna try that Hola thing the India guy is talking about. 23 bucks = I buy the PPVs instead of fighting with ATDHE, at least for big events like Lawler/Hendricks and Weidman/Belfort.
ReplyDeleteI don't see the point in leaving those guys in NXT past the Rumble. They need a big injection of talent and an Invasion angle would certainly freshen things up.
ReplyDeleteI just made up a fake address, and still got accepted.
ReplyDelete5150 Maffew Ave. (LAX and Botchamania references)
George, IA
51237 (also the birthday of George Carlin)
Cole:How did Ambrose get out of the locked room? Lawler: Giggle fit. About sums up the broadcast team these days. Storylines need no explanation whatsoever, for $9.99.
ReplyDeleteI think the only reason Miz won the title at NOC was that creative came up with the Sandow wearing a replica belt gag, and had to get the title back on Miz to use it.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm dreading this Rusev anti-USA push, just for JBL's horrible, obnoxious commentary. "This guy's let 318 million Americans down, Maggle! He's awful! He's a disgrace! He should be deported!" OVER AND OVER AGAIN, burying the guys who lost. And you know it'll be John Cena (who doesn't need it) that'll be the first guy to beat Rusev, and JBL will be the first with the verbal fellatio.
It's practically begging to redo the Radicalz storyline, especially with HHH bringing them in as enforcements just like he did 15 years ago with Benoit/Guerrero/Malenko/Saturn.
ReplyDeleteIf it's Cena/Rusev at WrestleMania, then great, because a)I like Rusev but don't see him as a major long-term player, and b)it keeps Cena out of the important WM matches.
ReplyDeleteWhy was the dust brothers turn a bust?
ReplyDeleteYeah I'm currently locked in on the six-month deal, so I'd probably have to wait until that's over, and start over with a different email address. I may just do that, though; the thought of seeing the FS1 stuff live without FS1 is intriguing.
ReplyDeleteThat would actually give a charge to his looming feud with Orton.
ReplyDeletePlus I think we are overrating in hindsight how much of a crossover there ever was between the WCW and WWF audiences. They were important to us who are the people still watching after all these downturn years.
You're probably right. And I wouldn't be surprised if the R-Truth as Ziggler's "stunt double" thing only happened because Truth was imitating Ziggler in the locker room one day and somebody thought it was funny.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see Rusev-Ziggler next. It moves Rusev up the card by putting a title belt on him, it's a feud that doesn't only have to center around Russia-vs.-USA, and it's one of those occasions in which Ziggler can still look good by losing if he gets brutalized but never gives up and almost gets the win in their payoff match. Plus Ziggler bumps well enough to really make Rusev look like a monster.
Who even uses ATDHE anymore? Hypothetically if I were to advocate such behavior, which neither nor the blog nor the advertisers do not, I'd go with Front Page Sports. Hypothetically.
ReplyDeleteI only watched for Ambrose and he was the only one to deliver anything remotely interesting. I know this sounds awful but I hope Reigns his surgery keeps him out a couple of more months so WWE have to change their main event push to Ambrose.
ReplyDeleteI oscillate between the two until I find a stream that doesn't repeatedly quit. I've heard good things about wizywig.tv (sp?) as well.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, I forgot about that Sting promo. Fantastic catch.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great storyline.
I'm just glad the Yeti debacle didn't rob us of the super-awesome Reese character in the Flock.
ReplyDelete"Had there been a WCW Network back then they'd probably hard sell that as well, but would keep getting the price wrong".
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, the WWE Network keeps getting the price wrong too, since it's currently available in 170 countries but it's only $9.99 in one country while it's $13 in the other 169 countries.
Meltzer and Rogers Cable have both reported that it's a big success and that Rogers got the number of subscribers they were expecting it would take a month to get, well it only took two days for them to hit that target and they've obviously gotten more since then.
ReplyDeleteJust use XBMC. You'll find whatever you want there. Hypothetically.
ReplyDeleteHave a salmon puff.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna have to disagree a little bit about that. The WWF crowd knew exactly who they were. And remember the pop for Jericho's debut? It's not like it was all lapsed or new fans who were making up Raw's monstrous ratings in '98 and '99; those were largely fans who switched over from Nitro.
ReplyDeleteMore of a Jericho/Benoit dynamic, I'd say. Two guys who came into WWE with big reps from around the world (or the indies) and were popular midcarders that kind of elevated each other through their feud.
ReplyDeleteSenor Plow no es macho, es solamente un borracho.
ReplyDeleteHey, what's wrong with Edmonton?! Aside from all the hobos, drunk natives, grungy downtown and neighborhoods that go from new and pretty to slum-like every other street.
ReplyDeleteAhh! "The Mummy" I'm betting. They just combined them!
ReplyDeleteOr given the Yeti's totally different costume at WWIII#1 -- Super Ninja Giant.
this.
ReplyDeleteit's also the same reason services like Netflix only use lazy attempts of geoblocking. it seems more to appease the owner of the rights of the content than anything than to actually try to restrict people from paying them money.
October 23, 1995 might have had the worst 1-2 punch of the wrestling year. That night's Raw might have been their worst of the year (think about what that entails). Just gotta move on.
ReplyDeleteWell really, even just for the live PPVs the $12 a month is a no-brainer.
ReplyDeleteKurasawa was kicking Savage in the hamstring.
ReplyDeleteExcept he was a shark now.
ReplyDelete"Hulk Hogan, still in black, is out to continue showing off his EVIL attire, and he might even keep the black gloves afterwards, because everyone knows how dangerous someone with black gloves can be. Stay classy, Hulk"
ReplyDeleteAnd years later, after the divorce from Linda, he would say he "totally gets O.J."
Let's hope that service doesn't fall into the wrong hands.
ReplyDeleteThat's the same combination I use on my luggage
ReplyDeleteActually now that I remember, Reis' character was to be known as "T-Rex".
ReplyDelete123 Fake Street was already taken.
