So I just got done watching SummerSlam 91 on the Network tonight and the PPV just ends with the wedding. I know the wedding reception was a "Coliseum Video Exclusive" or something, but since that was more memorable than nearly everything else on the show, wouldn't you think that it should be shown after the PPV instead of having to find it on YouTube?
It was on Primetime, so you just have to wait the 7 years it's apparently going to take to add those to the Network. Besides, if they just go and add everything people want to see, no one will renew! Simple math.
The emailer implies that SS '91 was boring or something. False. That show was a ton of fun.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they have some footage on This Tuesday in Texas?
ReplyDeleteMemorable and exciting are two different things.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember anything about this show other than the matches made in Heaven and Hell.
That's odd. Even when they uploaded it On Demand, it included the reception.
ReplyDeleteWhen are they going to do a Countdown of the Ten Greatest Gorilla Monsoon "WILL YOU STOP?!!!" moments of all time?
ReplyDeleteBret-Perfect?
ReplyDeleteJacques Rougeau's starring role in the funniest sketches WWE has ever produced?
ReplyDeleteVirgil wins million dollar belt and the Mountie goes to jail and gang rape is implied. Oh and Bret Hart wins the IC title.
ReplyDeleteI had that tape when I was a kid that showed the reception. Then my crackhead cousin just took it and I never saw it again. Little did I know at the time that I had something that rare though
ReplyDeleteThey just uploaded a year and a half of Nitro! People will never be happy with this service.
ReplyDeleteOpening six man was fun too, and LOD complete the triple crown.
ReplyDeleteIRS/Greg Valentine was a MOTYC!
ReplyDeleteYou want the finger? HERE'S the finger!
ReplyDeleteAnd then nothing since. This service would be much more well-received if they'd come up with a regular schedule of updates and follow it. Like every Tuesday, here's 4 more Nitros and Raws. Every Wednesday, a few new World Classes. Fridays, some ECW.
ReplyDeleteHow hard would that be?
I only recently learned that Roberts' wedding crash wasn't actually shown on the PPV. What a waste, that might have actually redeemed the show after the terrible main event. They really made Hart/Hennig carry a pretty heavy load there.
ReplyDeleteSomething similar happened on the SNME in '92 that builds to WM VIII.
ReplyDeleteAfter the Savage/Roberts match, Roberts is waiting behind the curtain with a chair, ready to nail the first person to come through (either Savage or Elizabeth). The "LIVE" broadcast cuts off before they head to the back, but comes back on to see Undertaker stop Jake (I recorded the original airing of the episode, and remember this vividly). The Network version just ends where the broadcast is "supposed" to end.
Why wouldn't they include that additional couple of minutes?
I get it but how much of the Nitro episodes that they've released have you watched? Are you really in need of more content? I'd appreciate a regular uploading schedule also but the network already has far more footage than I'll ever be able to watch, so I'm happy slowly watching Nitro for the next five months until there's another huge dump of episodes.
ReplyDeleteI guess I just get irritated with all the complaints when the network has basically been wrestling Nirvana for me. For all the people complaining about this or that missing, I wonder how much of what's actually on the network they've already watched.
Too little, too late. I didn't renew, and I won't until they add more content from 80's/90's WWF (Superstars & Primetime) and WCW (I would rather have Saturday Night than Nitro), as well as more old ECW, World Class, and RAW episodes.
ReplyDeleteI'm still enjoying the Network but a year and a half of Nitro doesn't do that much for me.
