  1. Sure he could purchase WWE. Last I heard it was $11.63 a share.

Disappointed that you didn't ask any hard-hitting questions about Southern States Wrestling.

  2. Yeah, like "Does Wolfie D still have your vanity belt after the Fall Spectacular?".

    ReplyDelete
  3. No, I meant that's what I was saying, I wasn't commenting on your references...I was making a statement.

    I.E - "Here's another South Park reference."

But yes, everything is a South Park reference,

  4. Loved Kiwi's comment yesterday about how "at least it was a solid reason to feud, unlike the crap of these days". YEP!!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Last time I checked, Kiwi doesn't represent "everyone except you" or "smarks" or "they" or "them," but I guess I could be wrong.

He definitely doesn't represent me because that angle was dumb as fuck.

  6. But y'all look alike!!!! :D

  7. Good old NewArk, Delaware. A little further up north from you we call it NORK, NJ and everyone else makes fun of us for this.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I'm the Zeb Colter of the board.

    "WE!!! THE ANTI-SMARKS!!!" :)

    ReplyDelete
  9. New Ark is very nice, but that's like comparing an apple to a piece of dog shit.

    ReplyDelete
  10. He better no use and ice pack after reading this

    ReplyDelete
  11. Damnit. Thought I had that joke cornered until I scrolled down.

    ReplyDelete
  12. It's always fun watching Big Show on old PPVs because you always have the "face or heel" guessing game.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Ice cream. Bring me lots of ice cream. And nothing with health food in it.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Oh my lord, the dreaded Corkscrew Elbow finisher.

"It's an elbow drop....but I jump and turn mid-air while delivering it!"

    "Buddy, you magnificent bastard."

    ReplyDelete
  15. SMACK'EM, WHACK'EM!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I lived in Newark DE for 5 years. the difference between that one and the Jersey one is Delaware pronounces it as 2 syllables New-Ark unlike here in NJ we use once syllable.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Dude they always had houses shows at the BOB the past few years.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Problem is, when they keep using Show as the "opponent of the month" you know he's just a placeholder and his effectiveness wears off.

Kane is the perfect example. How many times have we had an authority figure say, "Tonight you'll go one and one with... KANE!" and watch the opponent look afraid... even though the opponent probably has beaten Kane a dozen times previously.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I think it is awesome that they have found a new hobby they can share.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Don't let them scare you off. It's cool that you guys enjoy it and enjoy it together... most everyone here is a bitter old smark (smart mark).

    ReplyDelete
  21. Those old video titles.... "Grudges, Gripes and Grunts"... what the HELL is that?

    ReplyDelete
  22. That and the de version isn't one of the least safe cities in the country.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Smackdown house shows are not the same thing as an actual raw.

    ReplyDelete
  24. It is near wilmington which is one of the most dangerous small cities in America.

    ReplyDelete
  25. So "We both enjoy watching wrestling" is far too much for you people to wrap your brains around?

    ReplyDelete
  26. A meh question. If I have enough money to buy WWE.......I'm not fucking buying WWE.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I've always thought that the movie thing was a combination of that and the thought of "well, if Rock can be a movie star and make other people millions, I have a whole roster of potential movie stars that can make me millions!" Except nobody on the roster has the acting ability of The Rock AND they don't have anyone in-house with the filmmaking know-how to make a successful movie.

Which is why I think McMahon is scared shitless of Cena making a wave in Hollywood with Trainwreck and The Nest, and that's one reason why we're getting the Roman Reigns turbopush. Cena is clearly dipping his toe into Hollywood and could easily become a part-timer or no-timer if things go well for him.

  28. ....(thinking about this too long)I mean, MAYBE, if I have Warren Buffet/Bill Gates money? And I have a Eugene-ish body guard that that needs something to do in his spare time? MAYBE I throw him a bone and buy it from my mountain lair. But even then, nah.

  29. my fav moment of the big show/bossman feud was when bossman dug up mr. shows casket and attatched it to his truck and drove off with show and the casket being dragged around the cemetary.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I mentioned this promo in a thread a couple of days ago, my Dad and I still laugh at "you think I'm hot you think handsome, well Chico you right" to this day.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I lived there for a year or two myself.. my father still lives there.. The people there are pretty nice, but they did take exception to me pronouncing Newark in the same manner as the one in NJ.

    "It's New Ark".

    ReplyDelete
  32. When he's a heel he should always have shifty eyes, like that dog on that Simpsons episode.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I hate Wilmington.. used to have to catch the bus there to go to NYC from Newark. I lived in an area named Brookside and it was fairly safe. Most of the crime is by young idiots, but that's going to happen everywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hahaha, I was at this episode of Raw (Bob Carpenter Center at the University of Delaware) and holy crap was it bad as I remembered.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yup, that's the money line.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I had a legit reason to hate Xanta Claus.. My real name is Xanda and my friends would call me Xanda Claus.. Fuck that guy!!

I can imagine Big Show as a face waiting to be tagged in...and then he begins sweating, and the shifty eyes...he can't take it anymoreeeee HEEL TURN!

  38. Thanks! I'm a long-time nerd. I'm familiar with nerd hierarchies. I respect older nerds, but they don't intimidate me.

It's not offensive to call smarks nerds is it? It seems pretty much parallel to other forms of nerdism... somewhere on the spectrum between sports nerd and comic book nerd.

  39. I love how ig Show referenced this years later, while talking to Goldust, in one of my favorite moments...

    Continuity~!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Isn't it quaint that in the old days guys would wrestle TWICE in a couple years and that gets them confused. Now guys wrestle eachother hundreds of times (Ziggler vs Kofi) and that is why we get them confused.

  41. I think the WWE needs to make a firm decision as to who the hell their target audience is and who they are gearing the show towards. They're trying to be everything to everyone and stretching themselves too thin to be sustainable.

They claim they are geared to a younger fanbase, then have HHH come out and cut insider promos about shit that happened before these kids were even born. So now they're geared to smarts, but then they have people like Kathie Lee Gifford come out to waste everyone's time. So now they're geared to women but book the Divas to be either terrible people or nameless losers. So now they're geared to guys who want to see AJ and Brie make out, but then hey here's John Cena to talk act like a 5 year old. This happens within the span of an hour sometimes.

For every segment that a particular demo likes, they have to sit through 2-3 they don't care about at all. So in the end they lose everyone except the hardcore fans who watch because they love wrestling and it's the only viable option right now and occasionally they get thrown a bone. To me, that's the problem.

  42. Sorry Scott, but Orton is NEVER the answer. Any "new car smell" he ever gains from turning invariably disappears within a few weeks. The RKO gets a pop, and the prospect of seeing evil king Trips eat an RKO was all that was working in Orton's favor, his awful mic-work has always kept him from being more. Even with a million championship reigns, the audience sees him as being on the same level as, say, Kane.

If the company wants to reach a new audience, then they have to create a new star. Ambrose seemed to be that guy up until a month or so ago, and easily still could be, but things are kinda off-the-rails for him at the moment. If Orton was the guy, it would have happened at some point over the last *decade*.

If your wife actually watches wrestling with you and enjoys it, you're a lucky man. Most of us aren't that fortunate, which may be why people are suspicious. It almost sounds too good to be true.

  44. And just what were they planning to do with evil Santa the other 11 months of the year when no one cared about Christmas?

    ReplyDelete
  45. WHY ISN'T THIS SHOWING UP IN MY ITUNES FEED!!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Is it still not showing up? I thought we fixed it.
