Hi, Scott. Do you think the babyfaces will win each of the four big singles matches at 'Mania, or will WWE throw at least one curveball? Looking at each match individually, I think Reigns, Cena, Sting and 'Taker will win, but it would also seem kind of odd for the potential biggest heel win on the show to be Rollins (a stip match with Orton at Extreme Rules makes sense, and Orton shouldn't have the Raw beatdown and win the first match). I suppose the faces winning but the show ending with Rollins successfully cashing in would provide some balance but don't think WWE would have Roman's first title reign end like Bryan's did at Summerslam.
No, they will not. I can definitely see Cena losing, though, and probably Sting as well. Taker's not coming back to do a job, though.
Wow for WWE to finally get Sting and then have him lose in his 1st match...lol The balls Vince would still have to do that...
ReplyDeleteTriple-H at 16
ReplyDeleteDoes Reigns count as a face if no one cheers for him? I doubt HHH will go over. He's shows his willingness to job to just about anyone in recent years, I think he will here too
ReplyDeleteWell, Meltzer said that whether or not Brock re-ups is what's gonna determine the outcome of Reigns/Lesnar and either way, Rollins is there as a wildcard.
ReplyDeleteTaker's going over Bray with no question.
Sting jobbing? lol no
Cena jobbing? After last night's squash job, Rusev's probably going to have to suck Cena's dick mid-ring while the Star Spangled Banner plays and Cena holds the US title aloft.
I was just about to post the question about the biggest heel win of all time. It's hard to do against WM 16 Trips, but does Austin at WM 17 count.
ReplyDeleteThat's tough, but I guess he technically turned during the match and won the title as a heel. That would "count" I guess.
ReplyDeleteI dunno. I think I can see Rusev going over. It wouldn't be the worst thing for Cena to fall down the card. He's so over with kids that his spot on the card won't affect viewership. And kids will totally back him in his fight back to the top. That whole "the money's in the chase" thing may apply. Plus, if he worked his way back up from the "bottom" (I put bottom in quotes cause he'll never truly be at the bottom), then his record-tying 16th world title would be an even bigger deal. Plus it makes Rusev a legit challenger for the world title if Reigns goes over Brock.
ReplyDeleteThat's actually why I don't think he is jobbing (Sting, that is). The guy spent his entire career avoiding Vince and the WWE/F because he was afraid of the way he would be treated as a "WCW guy." I doubt he finally came into the company without some sort of safeguard, creative control, an agreement, SOMEthing to prevent getting hosed.
ReplyDeleteEverything you're saying makes sense to everyone here, but you gotta think like Vince.
ReplyDeleteThe same guy who had Cena squash all 3 Wyatts more or less singlehandedly after the Brock loss at Summerslam because Cena had to look strong.
lol...yeah I guess that's true.
ReplyDeleteI'd say HHH at 16 is bigger - people expected Austin to win (and it was a bigger moment for sure) but in 2000 Rocky was hot favourite to come out of it as champ.
ReplyDeleteIf we're looking at most shocking heel win then I fully expected Miz to lose to Cena at 27 and them set the seed for Cena/Rock the following year there and then
I remember liking the HHH win at the time because it wasn't the norm. It was always a forgone conclusion that the good guy would win the Wrestlemania main event and it just became to predictable for me. I liked the feeling that for once a heel can come out on top of the biggest show of the year.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but it was the wrong heel at the wrong Mania.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if they don't make the Rollins cash-in call on the fly depending on how the match with Lesnar and Reigns goes.
ReplyDeleteIF Brock re-signed I'll go Rusev, Taker, Sting and Brock winning
ReplyDeleteWhat I would like to see is Undertaker losing 21 matches in a row at WrestleMania. Give back. Brock was 1, Wyatt will be 2 etc.
ReplyDeleteTaker and Sting will both win, and there'll be some sort of "moment" between the two to set up their joint retirement match next year.
ReplyDeleteI hope the WWE sees sense and has Cena job. A win for him does nothing of benefit to anyone, but will instantly destroy the only true monster heel they have on TV on a weekly basis, given that everyone else has fallen victim to 50/50 booking or isn't on TV regularly (and let's be honest, the crowd are going to treat Lesnar as the face at WM).
Rollins will lose to Orton, to 'pay his dues' before he cashes in on Reigns, with a face pop when he does so that will blow the roof off the place.
Well I think Taker and Sting will give the big crowd pops, Rusev should win because he is a new star and they should keep him going and Brock should win because Reigns is not ready and or working out and the new streak could be Brock shocking the world every year at mania.
ReplyDeleteThe only way he loses is if there's an Authority shenanigans clusterfuck, but even then I reckon HHH will get Kane and Big Show involved and then the WCW alums - Flair and Booker - will get involved to nullify them.
ReplyDeleteThere's a big part of me that hopes Taker is coming back to really help kick start a push for Bray and job to him, even if it requires a Rumble '94 style run in of the heels...
ReplyDeleteIts not going to happen but it could help set up Bray's new family. Have the Ascension walk out from the battle royal as soon as it starts, ditto Harper in the ladder match, and then have them help Bray win before wheeling out Taker for good. Maybe the icing on the cake is Kane turning on Big Show for good and eliminating himself from the Battle Royal. Cause a bit of confusion as to why they've done it...
Then have them all interfere to help Bray win (the idea being that its a greater cause to help the Family then their individual glory) and re-push the Family as unstoppable forces vs. all comers (using Kane against the Authority). Keep Taker away for a good few years before his HoF induction.
But lets face it...Taker wins with a tombstone and goes into the Hall next year.
Love it, all the way up to them wheeling out Jimmy Snuka to defeat him and make it 21-21...
ReplyDeleteHoly fuck. By WrestleMania 16/2000 people had had enough of the whole Triple-H as dominant World Champion w/Stephanie as his screechy bitch lover all over every episode of every show. Everyone expected Rock to win and end the HHH/Stephanie crap. And now FIFTEEN YEARS LATER.......
ReplyDeleteTwo musical performances, the divas match, the Andre battle royal.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I have enough piss in me to keep up with all the piss breaks they're going to give us on Sunday.
No clue. Who's the guy inbetween Woman and Shane?
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of the Andre Battle Royal...well, who's actually going to WIN the damn thing anyway?
ReplyDeleteI seriously have no idea. Maybe Sheamus is a surprise entrant, or maybe we get Mizdow as part of the final FOR REALSIES THIS TIME, YOU GUISE breakup of Miz/Mizdow. Or maybe they just say "fuck it" and give it to Ryback. But I genuinely have no loving idea who's taking this thing.
yeah, has Bret's face
ReplyDeleteWhen Shane Douglas out-classes you, you know you failed
ReplyDeleteObservations/questions:
ReplyDeleteWho is the guy behind Bret? He looks to have Pillman hair, but obviously not him :(
WTF are Diana and Bulldog doing smiling at her brother's funeral??? I get that you don't always want to be sad at a funeral and you want to remember the good times, but jeez...
Brian Blair photobombing this pic is pretty hilarious.
Who cares? If Cesaro last year was any indication, winning it is meaningless.
ReplyDeleteShane outclassed everyone. That's a decent suit for the time.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't matter unless Sandow wins by turning on Miz or Neville is the NXT entrant and takes it all. It is meaningless if anyone else wins.
ReplyDelete2 musical performances?
ReplyDeleteThat's it. The next fucking concert I attend better have at least 1 wrestling match, or I'm going to start one.
I like how Shane kept his heel persona going by opting to drink Schweppes instead of Canada Dry. That's how you kayfabe.
ReplyDeleteWay to be sure you're with the Hulkster, Bruce. Good stuff.
ReplyDelete"He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named"
ReplyDeleteIf Flair gets involved, he HAS to turn on Sting.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's fine. But grabbing the title because is ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteMan, it has been two years hasn't it? It was like the day after Mania it was first announced I think
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm pretty sure I could take those fuckers.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I won't be seeing Henry Rollins anytime soon.
I want to say there's no way HHH goes over Sting, but I also never thought that HHH could claim with a straight face that he killed WCW. I guess anything CAN happen!
ReplyDeleteMaybe. Guess we said the same about Taker Brock last year.
ReplyDeleteI think I could see a scenario where the outcomes are different than expected, but the only one I think that might be in slight doubt would be Cena-Rusev, but it is Cena we are talking about here.
ReplyDeleteCan't see Sting or Taker losing.
And the Reigns thing is just well....that's a mess.
So much this. It's a filler match and nothing more, tacking Andre's name on it means nothing, the fact that winning it is a sure way to get the owner of the company talking shit about you in public means no one should even want to win it.
ReplyDeleteDo you think Rollins will cash in, or will they wait to Raw - or worse, feed him as a failed cash-in to "make Reigns look good"?
ReplyDeleteI raised a possibility on the live thread last night, that maybe all of this - the Reigns push, the undeserving Rumble win, being shoved down our throats, isn't actually to build up Reigns at all, but to give Rollins a MASSIVE pop and "Wrestlemania moment" as the first man to cash in at WM, at which point, given the audience response to Reigns, he can turn face and Reigns turn heel (maybe Heyman helps him beat Brock?). It would at least make some of the booking fiascos - even down to the farcically bad promos - make a little more sense in hindsight. The biggest swerve in some time.
honestly Benoit's facial expression looks like he would kill to be anywhere but there......
ReplyDeleteRemember when Terry Funk wanted his shot at Flair's title, and he got it by starting a tug of war with Flair when he wasn't looking? THAT was an epic feud.
ReplyDeleteI still don't know why they broke up the Wyatt family. This is a perfect match for them to be involved in. It isn't like they have gone anywhere since then.
ReplyDeleteGive it ten years and HHH will be doing promos about how he bodyslammed Andre. It's his Universe, he can say what he wants!
ReplyDeleteI remember thinking "there's no way Racist HHH will go over Booker. No way in hell.." back in the day.
ReplyDeleteIs that Kanyon?
ReplyDeleteI think Bray can get most of that if he (and his hypothetical new family) do a big beatdown to send Taker away for at least another year. Recent threads have complained about Reigns not having a clear motivation, but Wyatt has seemed to be much more focused on head games than actually winning matches: losing the battle/match to win the war/set Undertaker's soul free or whatever makes some sense for his character.
ReplyDeleteLesnar over Taker.
ReplyDeleteI've never correctly predicted a cash-in ever, so you're asking the wrong person.
ReplyDeleteThat's why I absolutely love Samoa Joe's thing where someone goes for a high-risk maneuver, and he just moves out of the way.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, that would actually make for a brilliant gimmick for someone like Axel. Have the Axelmania thing actually drive him mad, and have him start claiming responsibility for iconic moments through wrestling history - he slammed Andre, he called for the bell in Montreal, he beat Rock and Austin in one night to be the first Undisputed Champ, etc. Have some really stupidly lame photoshops on the Tron as 'proof' and he could actually turn into a fun comedy character.
ReplyDeleteWe said the same thing about WM29 too, and all three of the big matches (Cena/Rock, HHH/Brock, Taker/Punk) turned out just as we expected them to. Ryback/Henry was the only match that had an unexpected ending, but by then Ryback losing was pretty much a running joke.
ReplyDeleteEh, heel winning is OK, but Wrestlemania 2000 was a bit of a weirdo overall. Outside of the women's match (which I won't count) there was not one single one on one match.
ReplyDeleteFor such a hot period, it was a bit of a disappointment.
A picture of 90's wrestlers and less than half of them are currently dead? I'd call that the most inspiring photo ever.
ReplyDeleteWell, please make a prediction so we can all go put money on the opposite outcome! :D
ReplyDeleteReigns, no Reignsing!!!
ReplyDelete(For fuck sake, he isn't even as good as Swiper!)
Huh, that's a pretty good idea.
ReplyDeletePretty sure.
ReplyDelete#LOLConanWins
ReplyDeleteCould actually use him as a walking ad for the Network, without it being pushed down our throats.
ReplyDelete"I remember when I threw Mick Foley from HIAC - you can watch it on the Network, it's under King of the Ring in 1998!"
Dumb question if they pull the plug on regins which match goes on last. You can't have Lesnar end the show or cena. So that would be either sting, how I hope is tanned up or the undertaker. Two 50 yr olds
ReplyDeleteRollins cashing in would be an iconic moment to end the show - the first Wrestlemania cash-in? Damn right.
ReplyDelete*Almost* sure. It's hard to tell for definite because he's clean shaven.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.profightdb.com/img/wrestlers/thumbs-600/af30f895cfreese.png
Cena
ReplyDeleteThis picture is inconclusive too: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/AgItbGA0tJg/hqdefault.jpg
ReplyDeleteseems like an odd choice like what would his connection to owen have been?
ReplyDeleteForgot about that one but that would work
ReplyDeleteIf Brock re-signs, Brock wins. If Brock doesn't re-sign, I pick him to beat Reigns in an attempt to "shock the dirt sheets". Then Rollins cashes in on Brock. In the end, Brock leaves and Rollins and Reigns feud over a belt that neither of them won clean.
ReplyDeleteI've got to think that Sting is going to win. He's here for one match and he's not going to agree to lose his one match in WWE. Then again, this is the notoriously gullible Sting and he'd probably trust Vince and HHH if they told him that the way to win a match is to get pinned for a 3 count. I predict a gloriously overbooked mess that includes run-ins from Steph, Vince, Linda, Hogan, Nash, Booker T, Flair, DDP, X-Pac, Scott Hall. Hell, let's get every guy from the Monday Night Wars that they can drag out there and have the giant brawl that would have made us lose our shit back in 1998.
There is no upside to having Cena beat Rusev or to having Undertaker beat Bray, but I'm fairly certain that's what they'll do.
Last I checked, all of the heels were underdogs in the betting markets, so you could make some money if that kind of betting is legal where you live.
ReplyDeleteFixed. Sorry. It was after midnight when I was typing the last of it.
ReplyDeleteA good chance of that happening is only if you go to an Insane Clown Posse concert.
ReplyDeleteHe was John Studd's son though, and he was one of the boys. He might have known them all growing up
ReplyDeleteHe'll make Rusev tap then lose the US Title a few weeks later to Wade Barrett after Big Shown interferes. That will set up a Big Show/Cena Extreme Rules match and we can FINALLY find out whether Cena can get Show up for the AA! #wwe #cena #liftshow
ReplyDeleteNever Was
ReplyDeleteNever Will Be
Forever
So was bbq'ing Reigns not a thing? Didn't see it in the recap...but only skimmed it
ReplyDeleteGlobal Force Wrestling: We Gave You English Commentary For New Japan Pro Wrestling.
ReplyDeleteThat rumour did sound like some made up shit to be honest
ReplyDeleteFast & lazy way. Aside from Barrett, Ziggler & Harper most of the guys in this thing had shown any interest in that title previously. R-Truth literally came out of nowhere. Cody was still feuding with his brother. Ambrose's interest was at random. Bryan feels like he couldn't hang with the main eventers & Authority so he's slumming. Just lazy.
ReplyDeleteTaker and Reigns are winning. Accept it.
ReplyDeleteI called Booker the N-word then beat him with one pedigree!
ReplyDelete"Man, he lay there for soooooooooooo long! It was awesome!"
ReplyDelete"If Brock re-signs, Brock wins. If Brock doesn't re-sign, I pick him to beat Reigns in an attempt to "shock the dirt sheets". Then Rollins cashes in on Cena or DBry, because he's not stupid."
ReplyDeleteFTFY
So now I have to know when the show ACTUALLY is, and almost watch it?
ReplyDeleteFUCK YOU, MATT STEELE!!! (If that's your real name, I'm super jealous.)
that'll happen when you're playing as the bowling team :P
ReplyDeleteThis channel about WW1 on YT is unbelievably great, they're showing footage of thousands of French soldiers in bright colored blouses and feathers on their helmets just walking en masse into machine gun fire. Jesus fuck.
ReplyDeleteI think most wrestling fans agree that we ignore WM2000 and just pretend Backlash of that year was the Wrestlemania. Rock/HHH, Benoit/Jericho, Rios/Guerrerro, Scotty/Malenko, Big Show/Angle - all great (or great entertainment) and all better tha whatever either was involved in the month before.
ReplyDeleteI'm very excited to see Kid Ink who I've never heard of.
ReplyDeleteThere is photo evidence of a WWE film crew filming "Roman Reigns and family" footage:
ReplyDeletehttp://cdn.fansided.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/229/files/2015/03/roman.jpg
"Drilled him through the mat like a tent peg. I mean LITERALLY."
ReplyDeleteSting will probably win. If anything, I can TOTALLY see them having Barrett win the ladder match to get his fucking win back from everyone who beat him. Cena losing is...possible, but not probable. Not at all.
ReplyDeleteCurveballs? Nah, not anymore. Hell, look at Mizdow still going, look at the DANCIN' BOJANGLES (New Day) who NOBODY HAS EVER CHEERED FOR STILL...everything just keeps going and going b/c Vince is completely delusional at this point.
You know, looking at the trailer again, I wish they would build any heel half as well as Marvel is building Ultron. There's a pervasive feeling that the Avengers literally don't have a prayer, and even though every instinct you have as moviegoer tells you there's no way this doesn't end with the babyfaces standing tall, the threat is being built so well that it's actually conceivable Ultron might take a hero or two with him.
ReplyDeleteI think taker is losing. stings winning, brocks winning, cenas winning
ReplyDeleteCena will defend the US title against the same people he defended the World title against.
ReplyDeleteJesus, the French field strategy for offense (still mired in Napoleonic thinking) was that an infantry unit could advance at least 50 meters between rounds being reloaded on the other side. They used this strategy against....machine guns. My god.
ReplyDeleteIf only HHH had agreed to have Steph turn on him and join Angle. The rules of wrestling past decree that Steph and Angle would've ended up banging for real and the company would look a whole lot different. Every match would have 3 finishers AT LEAST!
ReplyDeleteOf course, a lot of this is also James Spader. Ultron wouldn't mean jack if he were voiced by Bryan Alvarez.
ReplyDeleteWell, they want to be entertaining.....
ReplyDeleteInteresting. It must have REALLY sucked. Or maybe it's for a Mania promo video. Mania NEEDS lots of promo videos.
ReplyDeleteI highly doubt Sting held out for 14 years just to come in and do a job for Hunter. I imagine Sting and Taker both go over, and maybe have some kind of confrontation to set up a double retirement match at WM32 - because they need to run that match before it's actually too late, right?
ReplyDeleteCena and Orton are both coin flips. I see the logic in having Cena go over - if Rusev needs to take his first loss, Cena is one of the few guys he could theoretically job to and not lose all credibility (provided he isn't given the Wyatt treatment). This also sets up the Cena/Bryan secondary champs scenario that was posted here a few days ago.
Orton can definitely afford a loss. He already got his big revenge beatdown on Rollins two weeks ago, going over at Mania would really hurt Rollins at this point, and he's one of the few guys they seem interested in protecting. They do love jobbing guys out right before they cash in MITB, which could point to an Orton win, but I don't see Rollins cashing in (at least successfully) until the late spring/early summer. They won't sacrifice Reigns, that's for sure.
I think he does take at least one with him. What the hell is Hawkeye even good for anyway? And I think he'll definitely kill one of the heroes introduced in the same film, that's just typical superhero stuff. Either Scarlet Witch or Quicksilver are burnt.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be smashed, so I'll have plenty of piss breaks after I break the seal.
ReplyDeleteLillian Garcia: Your winner, and NEW World [INAUDIBLE DUE TO BOOING]
ReplyDelete[ROLLINS' GUITAR RIFF - REST INAUDIBLE DUE TO CHEERING]
It would be Wrestlemania 9 all over again.
ReplyDeleteI can see Rollins beating Orton and then Orton costs him the match when he tries to cash in later.
ReplyDeleteSmackdown is going to be all video recaps, packages and promos this week so maybe they will use it then.
ReplyDeleteBret's thinking, "Fuck, I have to stand next to Shane Douglas? This day just keeps getting worse."
ReplyDeleteI was amazed when I read about that in Freshman Year High School world history. Like, what the hell were they doing for 100 years in terms of strategy, lol.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Renner signed up for Civil War?
ReplyDeleteGranted, it could be just a flashback to his death, or the announcement of a signing could be a misdirect. Lord knows, even if he is in the film, he's going to have even less screentime than he's likely to have in Age of Ultron, considering that we're probably getting an introduction to the new Spider-Man, Chadwick Boseman in a major role as Black Panther, and the more important Avengers taking up screentime too.
I like Hawkeye, but when those rumors came out after the first one, saying he wouldn't be back for the sequels, I couldn't say I was surprised.
Except people would be happy.
ReplyDeleteSo Bret....you hate Ric Flair too huh? Did I ever tell you about the time......
ReplyDelete"There are no strings on me......and you all are MINUS FIVE STARS!
ReplyDeleteGoddamit I was typing the same joke!
ReplyDeleteI would love it if Reigns to be so beaten down that all Rollins would have to do is put a foot on his chest to pin him.
ReplyDeleteTHAT would be a cool visual to end Wrestlemania.
"There are no strings on me" gradually morphs into "MINUS FIVE STRINGS!"
ReplyDeleteThis is summarily followed by a rant about a gold boat.
Yeah I don't mind the character, but he's one-note for sure, they've done a much MUCH better job fleshing out ScarJo throughout the IM/A/CA movies
ReplyDeleteDOES BRUCE EVER NOT WEAR SUNGLASSES???
ReplyDeleteFuck, what a clown!
What a meta car wreck that would be - Rollins and Scott Armstrong come down to count the pin, the supposedly evil Authority get the belt while 65,000 blow the roof off the joint.
ReplyDeleteUltimate mark-out moment:
ReplyDeleteRollins, with J&J Security, are marching to the ring. Reigns is on the deck after Lesnar got to his feet while he celebrated and hit three F5s on him.
Rollins hands Noble the briefcase and directs him to hand it to the ref for the cash in. Noble weighs the case in his hands for a second, then hits it hard on Rollins' head, then Mercury's.
He then cashes in the MitB for himself.
Ladies and gentlemen... your NEEEEEEWWWWWW World Heavyweight Champion... The Secret Weapon... JAMIE NOBLE!!!!
Fuck. Yes.
There's a 110% chance that conversation happened.
ReplyDeleteHulk: "Brother, we're at your brother's funeral!"
Bruce: "Another one died? Shit!"
It's really my favorite part about the war, it's a literal depiction of all of classical thinking smashing up against the rocks of the industrial revolution.
ReplyDeleteDING DING DING
ReplyDeleteYeah - but Hogan's impressive 5-star match against Koko B Ware in the first money in the bank ladder match on superstars was lost to the ravages of time.
ReplyDeleteNJPW on AXS ep 10: A. Nakamura vs Tanahashi for the Intercontinental Title from Tokyo Dome, Jan 4 2014. Great match. Nakamura hit an amazing counter from a powerbomb to a lung blower. Cloverleaf Styles Clash from Tanahashi. Just a stellar match.
ReplyDeleteYou know Hulk...back in 97 IPW ranked me #366 and I'm an 8 time Stampede British Commonwealth Mid-Heavyweight Champion so... I could really add alot
ReplyDeleteFrom Reddit:
ReplyDeleteThere's a good chance this is how WrestleMania will end on Sunday

Wait, Jennifer Lawrence is starring in ANOTHER movie with Bradley Cooper next year?
ReplyDeleteCome on now, they're just steering into the rumors at this point for the lulz.
Either that or they like working together and have a natural chemistry and friendship. But fuck it, it's Tuesday. Ain't shit else to do but Rumor-monger.
[NEW DAY ENTER THE RING]
ReplyDeleteYoung Black child: Daddy, should I be embarrassed to be Black right now?
Dad: Yes, son. We all are.
"Ve will show ze dirty Huns zat zere aren't enough bullets to stop ze French Army!'

Sting may do the job - if he is only their to preach the Truth to Triple H.
ReplyDeleteThey are saying BoooooReeeeigns
ReplyDeleteDo you think Stu decked that little kid of out sheer force of habit?
ReplyDeleteGod that title looks like rubbish.
ReplyDeleteHHH.
ReplyDeleteAre we trying to look at things from WWE's perspective, or more what we as fans would like to see and/or would do if we were booking WWE?
ReplyDeleteCena's going to get squashed at Summerslam, fail twice to get the title back, have to bring back the Authority after fewer than 40 days (after Sting and Ziggler defeated them after Cena got KO'd by Big Show), get low blowed by the evil foreigner AND fail to waive the flag at 'Mania? Rusev is good enough to survive a loss and can get the title back at Extreme Rules.
If they've built Brock like this only to have him lose on a cash-in, they are idiotic. You build up a monster for a face to get a big win, not so someone can get a cheap win. No, Reigns isn't ready, and they've done a poor job giving the crowd reasons to cheer him, but they should've audibled already if they weren't going to give him the title.
So Gruden analyzed the battle royal http://awfulannouncing.com/2015/jon-gruden-analyzing-the-wrestlemania-battle-royal-is-amazing.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=jon-gruden-analyzing-the-wrestlemania-battle-royal-is-amazing
ReplyDeleteSting will win.
ReplyDeleteTaker will win.
Cena will probably win.
Reigns will probably win.
I think the odds of a Rollins cash-in is about 50/50.
Oh Sting WILL do the job to HHH. I just don't think he'll do it at Wrestlemania.
ReplyDeleteRemember when Gerrard Butler and Bradley Cooper
ReplyDeletewent to Wimbledon in those blue suits? God they were just handsome as hell. I
was in a state of sexual confusion for days.
Fourth movie together in four years. That's pretty ridiculous, even by Hollywood standards.
ReplyDeleteIf Dean Fucking Ambrose doesn't ruin Rollins' cash-in, fuck this company.
ReplyDeleteStu definitely put someone in a submission that day for fun.
ReplyDeleteSo some smarts bought up a bunch of web addresses with Ted Cruz's name in them and redirected them to the Healthcare.gov website. For instance: tedcruzforamerica.com
ReplyDeleteOne thing about these shows is that they spoil them with the prematch interviews. I know the matches are over a year old, but it's still a little off putting. The quality of the wrestling makes up for it though.
ReplyDeleteLike it was said before. I think if Brock doesn't resign then Reigns wins then Brock cashes in and beats him.
ReplyDeleteI don't think so -- don't remember Kanyon having blond hair. Maybe Edge?
ReplyDeleteI don't know who this Axel guy is - because I don't watch anymore - I think he's perfect's kid - but seriously Axel should watch a few promos of Alan Funk as "The Funkster" and hire announcers like Mark Madden - who is in on the joke.
ReplyDeleteMadden "That top rope planch is the same move the Axster used to win the title in 1984!!!
I could live in a world where Ambrose got the Mania rub, as well as a world where he lurks in Reigns' shadow - "I saved ya, pal!" - and we're not sure when he's going to snap and go after Roman's belt.
ReplyDeleteIf they plan on doing it again they have hire the guys from AXS TV
ReplyDeleteINCLUDING THE FUCKIN' HAIR FLIP!
ReplyDelete"Booooo!"
ReplyDelete"Are you saying 'boo'? Or 'booo-lieve that'?"
"BOOOOOO!!!!"
"I was saying boo-lieve that."
There isn't one -- I swear I looked at that and I superimposed a tie on Benoit. Long day already lol.
ReplyDeleteThey're could be a chance where Cena gets cheered.
ReplyDeleteWTF? I've never seen so many people smiling at a funeral.
ReplyDeleteWrestleMania Play: You thought you couldn't get a worse WrestleMania main event than Sid vs. Undertaker. Well, you're wrong, pal!
ReplyDeleteAccording to the Countdown I watched after Raw there is no dirtier word in the spanish language than essa rios. At least that is what Christian said during a segment about the Conquistadors.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the giant guy is some football player or something? He doesn't look familiar at all.
ReplyDeleteThey might be doing more than rolling Snuka out by 2037.
ReplyDeleteI saw it as one of those weird passive aggressive things WWE does. We began cheering for Axel, so they put him in a scenario where he would have to be booed.
ReplyDeleteWWE.COM: Do you remember the first time you won the Intercontinental Championship?

Cruz wont finish higher than 5th in the primaries. No way the Republicans let him represent him in 2016. That is a guaranteed win for the Democrats.
ReplyDeleteI rarely pick on specific people in the recap. But Dougie's a dumbass who most of the people on the BoD detest. I'm just saving him time.
ReplyDeleteThe forum's gonna erupt into bullshit with him, anyhow. I'm just saving him a bit of time.

ReplyDeleteJust so we're clear, this was the go home show to Wrestlemania last year. Yeah, you can tell this year has Vince's finger prints all over it.
Someone needs to photoshop the "skip" icon over the play button.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the Reigns/Lesnar match, any possibility of Reigns winning the title early on in the show and Rollins announcing backstage that he's cashing in and will main event WrestleMania?
ReplyDeleteI don't see them doing two big multi-person matches in a row.
ReplyDeleteI left RAW on last night as background while I did other stuff. Other than coming away convinced Bryan is winning the IC belt, the only thing that made an impression on me was how unbelievably awful that Kidd/Natalya Burger King commercial was.
ReplyDeleteYou know, with Bryan standing tall as the go-home show came to a close, I had every expectation he might not end up winning. I wonder if Rusev standing tall over Cena on the go-home show doesn't necessarily rule out a victory for him.
ReplyDeleteYay. A screencap of a dancing Negro. I'm sure that wasn't by design.
ReplyDeleteI bet he asks his posters a LOT of questions. The ones on his wall, I mean...
ReplyDeleteVince: WELL, WHAT ELSE ARE THEY GONNA DO, PAL?
ReplyDeleteOr Hogan aiding Triple H for the win - setting up the Extreme Rules wheelchair bridge match against Hogan and Sting with Hogan finally getting a win off of sting.
ReplyDeleteVince generally tries to go against convention with at least one match at WM - usually not the biggest or most important one, but one of the higher ones. Edge losing at WM26 is a good example.
ReplyDeleteBut look at my sweet 'fro
ReplyDeleteThat should totally be the tagline for a movie, or the press release of a book
ReplyDeleteI though that Bush's win in the primaries was a guaranteed win for the Democrats in 2000. Then I voted for Ralph Nader and fucked it all up.
ReplyDeleteAnd with tears in his eyes, he knocked on my hotel room...
ReplyDelete...wait. Wrong story, wrong story!! Oh god, now I'm imagining Paterson and Bret getting it on. NOOOOO.
But look at that smirk on his face, he's having fun Maggle!
ReplyDeleteHuh, wouldn't have figure Madea would do that
ReplyDeleteNot even Triple H is that delusional. I just can't see Triple H saying he picked up 900 pounds of Andre and pressed him over his head.

ReplyDelete"Global Force Wrestling is coming to Vegas! And I'm putting everything on Red 16 because I don't have my Dads money to play with this time! Why Red 16 you ask? Because that's how many times I've been World Champion!... Well, 16 if you count the WWA and those USWA reigns, but I mean, they're real World titles, right?... And yea, if you discount all the NWA reigns I gave myself, then maybe it should be 10? Wait, Dad gave me the USWA titles too... This is too confusing, OK, they all count! Um... GFW baby!"
ReplyDeleteIt was a thing, but after a taste test, it was determined that he need to cook some more b/c he clearly wasn't ready
ReplyDeleteBurger King is comedy Maggle!
ReplyDeleteRussia dude will win when Hogan helps Ryssiv win to set up Hogan vs. Cena at WM 32.
ReplyDeleteTwo observations re. Cena
ReplyDelete1)This will, astoundingly, be the second consecutive Wrestlemania where Cena is firmly entrenced in the Mid-Card
2) I am more excited about his match with Rusev than almost any match on the card (though the craziness for Sting should be great). I loved the booking of Fast Lane, which showcased a dominant heel but one that still needed just a pinch of rule-bending. I've loved some of Cena and Rusev's Raw brawls, and, of course.......WORKOUT MONTAGE--1980'S SOVIET EDITION!
He probably get angry when the fan pop for something he don't get
ReplyDeleteLook at Davey Boy, getting' violent
ReplyDeleteKEITH HART AND THE FUCKING SUNGLASSES. Always the fucking sunglasses with him
BOO-MAN REIGNS! BOO-MAN REIGNS!
ReplyDeleteTim Burton, Johnny Depp, and Helena Bonham Carter are jealous of the amount of movies those two do together
ReplyDeleteCruz is a grandstanding idiot though that no one but a small vocal minority takes seriously.

ReplyDeleteLike I always say, I laugh most of this off. There's at least one guy, each week, who loves to try to pin me down and tell me "how it is". Most of the time, it's Dougie. Sometimes, it's people upvoting somebody's comment because I misspelled something or missed something fairly minor which I try to correct. Sometime, it's a total fucking meltdown like last week with Phrederic who, at one point, intimated that writers at the BoD should be on the level of Hemingway. Mostly, I just like writing this crap and stirring the pot.
ReplyDeleteYou'll all be back next week anyhow and we'll do it again. :)
