The original plans had Roman Reigns defeating Brock Lesnar in a match that went 35 minutes including entrances but the show ran long so they changed the match length.

Bray Wyatt Injury Update
Wyatt, who sprained his ankle Sunday afternoon, wore a cast on his ankle backstage the entire night until it was time for his match against the Undertaker. Wyatt was unable to stand or walk for a long time after the injury occurred as well.

More NXT Talents Debuting Shortly on WWE Television?
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, Finn Balor will be traveling for the next several weeks of television tapings and there has been a lot of talk about Charlotte moving to the main roster as well.

So WWE will be cleaning house in a few weeks?
ReplyDeleteWait, so we could've spent MORE time in Suplex City?
ReplyDeleteIf so, there will be a whole bunch of new talent for TNA and GFW to pick over.
ReplyDeleteWait, they changed the match length, but if Roman was also supposed to go over that requires a little more explanation.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Heath Slater and Cameron
ReplyDeleteWell I am glad to know they were smart enough to change the main event.
ReplyDeleteYeah and the article did not specify. Meltzer will probably have the scoop when the Observer comes out Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteThen we can have a 3MB reunion at the next Chikara King of the Trios tournament!
ReplyDeleteI call BS on that report.
ReplyDeleteMaybe, Kofi will finally go?
ReplyDeleteNah, there's way more other dudes they'd let go before Kofi.
ReplyDeleteI doubt the Rollins cash-in was a last minute decision, but I'd love to know when Vince finally decided to go that way.
ReplyDeleteIt really was the best way to get out of an otherwise unworkable situation.
They went long! Maybe they could have cut some of these segments out earlier:
ReplyDeleteRock "..."
Ronda "..."
Steph "..."
HHH "...."
Crowd: "This is awesome!"
Rock "..."
Ronda "..."
Steph "..."
HHH "...."
repeat for several minutes
Since Bray was hurt shouldn't Taker have come out to at least take a knee or something? Having neither guy on the show made that match all the more forgettable.
ReplyDeleteAt this point I put nothing past Vince. They guy changes his mind more than a teenage girl.
ReplyDeleteRewatching mania. I'm to the glorious Terminathurst Helmsley entrance
ReplyDeleteDisappointed that there wasn't a DX vs. nWo match tonight that either ended with a clusterfuck or ended with the nWo B-Team making the save.
ReplyDelete"What now about a teenage girl?" - Jerry Lawler
ReplyDeleteI loved it. So over the top and goofy, but they embraced it and went all the way. They knew what they were doing.
ReplyDeleteHe has to be Batman next year right? some sort of medieval barbarian Batman for the Batman/Superman movie?
ReplyDeleteThe lady in the office next to mine is singing loudly again. There is a wall separating us. Time to give someone a LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARIATOOOOOOOOOO!
ReplyDeleteAXE BOMBAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
ReplyDeleteWhile looking through the Wiki page to see who could get cut loose by the E I realized they even give "work names" to refs, announcers and the broadcast team. Is there anything the WWE doesn't brand?
ReplyDeleteNo kidding. They took their sweet-ass time with that segment and then wondered why they were running long. They are usually better with that.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking Birdman.
ReplyDeleteDo you know her bf/husbands name? perhaps you can start a you suck (fill in the blank) chant
ReplyDeleteSome dude?
ReplyDeleteIf Brock Lesnar came into the company today, they'd probably name him Brick Tufnel
ReplyDeleteThe HHH entrance got the second biggest laugh of the night at our viewing party. JBL's They're human beings damn it!" won out
ReplyDeleteAnd Lana was in a girl group called "No Mean Yes". What in the damn world...?
ReplyDeleteThey would make him act just like Brick Tamland.
ReplyDeleteI don't think they do the big cuts anymore, I think they decided on a policy of just quietly letting contracts run out, whenever that might be
ReplyDeleteHe would have took out 5 guys in the battle royal only to be tossed by big show...
ReplyDeleteOh boy...
ReplyDeleteI feel robbed.
ReplyDeleteAnchorman came out like 10 years ago. I'm not sure Vince has seen it yet.
ReplyDeleteApparently 2009 was a simpler time.
ReplyDeleteI love lamp.
ReplyDeleteMan, Social Justice Warriors would've had a field day with that name. IT'S A TRIGGER!
ReplyDeleteGood point.
ReplyDeleteI don't know who rebooked what was going to be a 35 min live abortion to close the biggest show of the year but God bless em.
ReplyDeleteI assumed they sent them out to kill time while the sun set.
ReplyDeletePretty crazy that they didn't time the show around the sun setting, but totally a 2015 WWE thing to do.
All that stalling from The Rock during the Rousey promo?
ReplyDeleteHe knew what he was doing.
How do you start a show at 2-3 pm on the West Coast and expect a sunset in an outdoor stadium?
ReplyDelete"Ohhhh Yeahhhhh! I loved me a teenage girl onceeeee!" -"Macho Man" Randy Savage
ReplyDeleteOh man those wacky facebook people who say things like, " I can't believe how many people believe wrestling is real. it's ridiculous" when the sportscenter page is talking about WWE. I mean really. Other great gems include: " Why is WWE every other post now? Post about sports, not hillbilly soap-operas." from the scholar whose profile pic makes him look like a fucking pedophile.
ReplyDeleteHe was trying to save his "cousin" from having to do more work in his match later in the evening
ReplyDeleteWell for whatever reason it happened the Main event was pretty much the perfect length
ReplyDeleteThe Rock's cousin!
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKUMV_YXCGw
I honestly don't think anyone under the age of six believes wrestling is "real," so I don't get why that's still the main criticism of it. I know it's an easy shot, but there are so many better ways to put down wrestling than pulling the "people should know it's fake" card again.
ReplyDeleteI would actually mark out for them coming in and losing in the first round. I was going nuts when Spirit Squad was in the ring last year. The energy at King of Trios just has you clapping and chanting for everything.
ReplyDeleteI sprained my ankle one time and I couldn't walk 2 feet for a week without excruciating pain. How Bray wrestled like that, I have no idea. Kudos.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite thing to say to people who try to tell me wrestling's fake?
ReplyDelete"So?"
those kids under 6 also have terrible parents if they think it's real
ReplyDeleteNow that the Dudleys are out of TNA, Bubba, D-Von, and Spike could enter.
ReplyDeleteSo why is no one talking about that clearly at mania they set up a X-pac Hogan match at mania 32?
ReplyDeleteFunny how the "realty era" consists of giving everybody fake names.
ReplyDeleteYou'd think they'd give him a big push when he comes back for being such a Hoss, but he'll probably get buried because he had the audacity to get hurt the day of the show
ReplyDelete*shrug* is my reaction to most of today's product, anyway.
ReplyDeleteThe three hour thing is just such a giant fucking problem. The Lesnar angle was all you needed out of Rollins for the night, and the Rollins/Orton/Reigns angle should have started next week.
ReplyDeleteWho cares about keeping new subscribers? They're giving April away for free!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cluster.
I don't think the length of the show is the problem, it's the way they structure it and the way they focus on two matches (at most) over the duration of the three hours.
ReplyDeleteIf they expanded the time the undercard are given in the ring (for example, give Neville and Axel 10-15 mins instead of 3) and actually put a little storyline development focus on them, and cut the never-fucking-ending recaps, the 3 hours would fly past.
Edge.
ReplyDeleteNeville should have absolutely squashed Axel like he did.
ReplyDeleteThey early should have main evented the show with the Cena open challenge and Cena/Ambrose match. Do that segment with Orton threatening Rollins backstage and keep them off rest of show. Then in the third hour Big Show is out there gloating, fans chanting please retire at him, and Reigns just walks out, says nothing and kills Show in less than a minute.
ReplyDeleteThen end the night with a super hot Cena/Ambrose match.
Kalisto looked awesome in his debut. And Neville's timing and working the crowd was great too. Track those down on YouTube.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah that was great. That was within the first two hours, right?
ReplyDelete3 hours is absolutely way too much time, way too much. Everyone's gonna get o erexposed, no matter how well they structure the show. (And yes they can structure things way better, but 3 hours every Monday plus Smackdown is insane and killing the roster.)
ReplyDeleteYes. The crowd responded well to him a few months back during that NXT match on RAW.
ReplyDeleteYes and no.
ReplyDeleteIn current context, yes, completely.
But in an ideal world, even 'squash' matches would have a decent amount of time to tell a story in the ring.
Nitro was a great show at 2 hours but became insufferable at 3. The length of the show is a problem, because it's hard to keep a show interesting that long.
ReplyDeleteI don't disagree, but if Lesnar is still working limited dates, what do you run instead? It seems like they're going to use Bryan to elevate the IC belt and Cena to elevate the US belt, so who's left for Rollins to feud with? Maybe elevate Ziggler once and for all?
ReplyDeleteThe first hour of RAW last night was perfect
ReplyDeleteRight, but it wasn't sustainable for the other two hours of the show. Even the best Raws of the three hour era had one hour that dragged.
ReplyDeleteBut it's not 100 percent WWE's decision. Triple H even said it on the Austin podcast, if he could bring the show back to 2 hours, he would.
Then people would just have complained about Cena being in the main event again.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I thought last night's Cena match was much better than his WM one, which just felt flat as hell to me.
I agree. The main event was on the lazy side though and everyone watching and in attendance knew Reigns would be the 3rd person on Orton's team.
ReplyDeleteI didn't. As said below, I actually forgot about Reigns entirely, and given the fact it was queued up as a 'mystery' partner, I was actually expecting someone like Itami, looking to get revenge on Big Show.
ReplyDeleteHow stupidly naive of me. :)
It's happened 3 times in the NHL, I think. Not sure about the NBA.
ReplyDeleteCorrection for the review: And, now, we find out if the WWE knows how to use the fans truly caring about Miz-dow
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I just remember that being mentioned during Game 7. The NHL had had its 3-0 comeback, but MLB (and NBA I think) had never even gotten to that deciding game.
ReplyDeleteNBA did for sure. Mavs/Portland one year and Denver/Utah in the mid 90s.
ReplyDeleteEh, I disagree with you here, NORMALLY, and as much as I enjoyed the show (the first two hours of it), the crowd reactions here have to be taken with a bit of a grain of salt. Orton has been MUCH more over in the weeks leading up to Wrestlemania, and I actually think his psycho face character who does bad things to heels is really fun. As far as Big Show and Kane though, that's another story, why they are in the main event in 2015 still baffles my mind, but who knows.
ReplyDeleteIt was overwhelming, the chants at the Divas. I was embarrassed.
ReplyDeleteIt would have been fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI did?
ReplyDeleteHere's what I said:
"this entire segment was worth the show."
How did I ignore it?
Here's what I said:
ReplyDelete"RATING: DUD, but Neville's badass."
Also, this wasn't a 5-star match. It was a squash. Neville is impressive. So, what I think I might do is not rate shit like this because it's fairly obvious what the rating would be.
Were you even paying attention to what I wrote? My opinion was right there:
ReplyDelete"This entire segment was worth the show."
I mean...come on...
I gave my opinion. You either ignored it or you disagree. Bryan and Ziggler wasn't "awesome". It was ok. The match on Smackdown was far better than this.
ReplyDeleteI also said that the Brock segment was worth the entire show...did you not see any of this?
"However for the most part I am on the side of the fans paid to be there they can do what they want"
ReplyDeleteWow...I don't even know where to begin with that. Yes, they paid money. Let them do what they want...just...wow.
That was before the PPV/Weekly TV era. If it didn't happen on TV, then it didn't happen. You knew Bruno was touring, but you didn't see it happen.
ReplyDeleteIt was buried in all that text. Probably should've been a separate paragraph.
ReplyDeleteD-Bry v. Ziggler was better than the Smackdown story. It told a much better story and helped put over both guys and the I-C Title. Certainly not worth a lowly ** rating.
ReplyDeleteI thought the SD match was better, even still. This was like the third round between the two guys. I sat through RAW live that night, then went home and watched it again. It was slightly better live than it was on TV, which neutered the match by removing the middle. I really wish they'd save their commercial time for minor matches.
ReplyDeleteLast year's crowd was WAYYYY better. This crowd blew for the most part. Little virgins chanting about BJ's to girls that would wipe the floor with them.
ReplyDeleteGood show but I'm think Im in the crowd now of being over the SmarkMania RAW crowd.
ReplyDeleteEh, I don't know about that last bit, I wouldn't bet on the Bellas in a shoot fight with a Care Bear.
ReplyDeleteI would hardly say they were awesome.
ReplyDeleteWell, he chose to take his step-dads name, so that's partially on him.
ReplyDeleteI mean, the ultimate smark promotions are what, ECW/RoH?
ReplyDeleteHardly paragons of equality when it comes to gender.
Eh, I'm not saying online objectification is fantastic, but I think it's loads better than doing it in a live setting.
ReplyDeleteYou could say the same thing about women, does that mean that chanting "you suck dick" at random female passerby is acceptable because 1/4 (whatever the ratio is) gets sexually assaulted?
ReplyDeleteI think they're still chanting racist shit in soccer stadiums.
ReplyDeleteOr a portion of the Bay that isn't terrible.
ReplyDeleteHow is extramarital cocksucking any worse than cocksucking between husband and wife? Or husband and husband?
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU
ReplyDeletePeople used to have fun lynching black folks.
ReplyDeleteFrats still have fun raping women.
Just because it's "for fun" doesn't mean it's okay.
Anyone else feel they missed out by not having Sting come out early for his interview and getting in a "Its Sting! We're out of time, see you on network!!:
ReplyDeletebecause racism is "worse" than sexism?!?
ReplyDeleteKey word is 'irrational'.
ReplyDeleteDo you know what irrational means?
ReplyDeleteEh they've sucked for so long fuck the divas anyway. And it was hard to make out on TV.
ReplyDeleteYessir
ReplyDeleteYou got it.
ReplyDeleteWhen you let the dog off the leash sometimes he'll shit on your neighbors lawn and its funny, and sometimes he shits on your lawn and it sucks.
ReplyDeletedog shit metaphors FTW
ReplyDeleteThey're at wrestling show. Who gives a shit?
ReplyDeleteAren't you the worthless piece of shit who uses words like "jap" in 2015?
ReplyDeleteIt's for moments like these that WWE desperately needs talent who can, and have the freedom to, improvise on the mic. A solid heel Diva with promo skills could have stopped the match, demanded a mic, rightly called out those douche bags for being douche bags, and generated more heel heat for herself. I feel like Sunny, Sherri Martel, or Medusa could have dealt with them.
ReplyDeleteThe enemy of my enemy is the Night After WM Raw crowd.
ReplyDelete
