I wonder who's the Haku of the dressing room nowadays. It still boggles my mind that JTTS Haku was the scariest dude in wrestling to the point that guys like Harley Race are respectfully afraid of him.
Swagger and Rusev might be bad asses as they have the backgrounds. I've read that Santino wasn't a guy you fucked with, either.
Though I'm not a huge fan anymore, Balor will probably have the best luck of the bunch because Vince apparently loves him. Owens is a can't miss, but Zayn and Neville I fear for.
Imagine going back in a time machine to 2008 and telling yourself that Tyler Black, Kevin Steen, Jon Moxley, Husky Harris and American Dragon would all be top WWE stars. Would you believe it?
Or that you took a time machine to the Reign of Terror and told yourself that Triple H would one day run the best wrestling promotion in North America.
Of course, if I could travel back in time I would mainly tell myself stock tips and outcomes of sporting events to bet on.
I said this yesterday. I can enjoy Destroyer for how stupid it is, but Barbarian completely crushes it. Probably helped having John Milius directing the film.
He does: http://shop.wwe.com/Hulk-Hogan-%22Immortal%22-Black-Authentic-T-Shirt/W09389,default,pd.html?dwvar_W09389_color=black&start=1&cgid=superstar-alumni-hulkhogan
But they could do a whole line with Sammartino, Iron Sheik, Andre the Giant, etc.
I loved how he just launched Mercury and Noble over the announce tables. And had a cold, almost placid, look on his face the whole time. I'm so used to psycho wrestlers screaming when they do bad shit that this was terrifying. He wasn't out of control...Brock was in control the whole time.
“Oh rats, we didn’t think about the sequel so we’ve ended up with a female character to deal with. Shall we expand the story to include a female perspective?”
“Nah, let’s dump her in an ally. Then once she wakes up, we’ll have her faint and we’ll dump her on a porch until the movie’s over.”
I dunno, dude. The mid 2000s had a whole bunch of muscle-head dudes from their OVW and Deep South territories. I didn't think a guy like AmDrag would EVER get a shot.
Nikki retains at Elimination Chamber. The next night on RAW, she cuts a promo talking about how much she's accomplished as Divas champion, and how she's faced all comers. She thanks her sister and the fans.
Charlotte interrupts. Tells her that it's true she's faces all the Divas. But the Divas are a joke. She's not a Diva, she's a fighter. And if Nikki will put up that title at MITB, she'll find out the difference very quickly.
MITB: Charlotte beats Nikki in a squash match. 90/10 match for Charlotte. Nikki barely gets anything.
Charlotte starts a Diva beatdown tour on TV over the next months. Brie, Tamina, Emma, Summer Rae, all squashed. She basically cuts her NXT promo about being the genetically superior woman, but also tears down the Divas. I'd throw in a line at some point about "I don't care about being in a WWE.com photoshoot, I don't care about being in a commercial. I don't care about being in Total Divas. I care about beating people up."
Naomi interrupts a promo of hers, gets a couple hits on her, earns the Divas match at Battleground.
Battleground: Charlotte more or less squash Naomi. A little more offense than Nikki got but not much.
Charlotte now thoroughly in control, talks about how she's run through this weak competition. Out comes Paige. Paige's angle is yeah some the Divas may not be able to stand up to Charlotte, but she can and will. She cuts a promo about how she's been fighting since she was 12 years old, and her family literally fought its way up from the streets to become stars in this business all around the world and how she didn't have the privilege of being born into wrestling royalty and pretty much you get the point.
Summerslam: Competitive match, Charlotte squeezes one out over Paige.
They build a rematch for Night of Champions.
Night of Champions: Paige has Charlotte on the ropes, when all of a sudden Sasha Banks jumps out of the crowd and knocks Paige out with a foreign object. Charlotte and Sasha stare each other down for a second and then embrace. Charlotte holds up one finger, and the two.
Backstage Renee asks her what that meant. Charlotte says she learned a long time ago that to survive in this business you always needs help. Sometimes it takes more than one (holds up one finger). Like two (holds up two fingers), or three (holds up three fingers), or even four (gives the four horsemen symbol).
At this point, we introduce a new wrinkle to this whole thing. Charlotte and Sasha cross Stephanie backstage one RAW and their arrogance and indifference to Steph pisses her off. She makes it her mission to humble these two, so she books them in a 5 on 2 handicap match against Paige, Natalya, Bellas, and Naomi.
Just as it looks like they're about to get their comeuppance, Becky Lynch comes to the rescue. The third member!
Steph finally fed up books Charlotte vs the five divas in a Gauntlet Match. Nikki out first, squashed. Naomi out next squashed. Brie out next squashed. Nattie out next, puts up a good fight, beaten. Charlotte's starting to show fatigue, Paige out last, Charlotte is in danger, but fights back and looks like she's going to pull it out. Steph watching on the monitor is furious. She sends out J&J to attack Charlotte. Over the barricade comes Ronda Rousey. Knocks Noble unconscious, taps Mercury in an armbar. Charlotte hits natural selection, beats Paige. Ronda raises Charlotte's hand and puts up the four fingers.
Stephanie freaks out backstage.
Charlotte, Sasha, and Becky then carry the torch to Mania name dropping Rousey, until they figure out what her involvement and what the match with Steph is actually going to be since she won't be appearing on a ton of shows.
That's pretty much the dead-on truth. Zemmeckis has talked about that bringing Jennifer along at the end of the original was a huge mistake because then they didn't know what to do with her.
If I had the money I would have. Then she would've woke up, and been all "where's Marty?" And I'd be "come on in dear, lay down on the couch, it's more comfortable than the porch swing, and tell me all about this "Marty" and his flying car".
I really wish they hadn't given up on Adam Rose. The dude may not be the greatest in the ring, but he's got this weird charisma that makes him fun to watch, plus his real life backstory makes you want to root for the guy. He's tailor-made for a tag team, really, and the WWE could use another fresh team to complete the little mini-Renaissance they have going.
I brought up a Four Horsewomen idea a few days ago, replacing Rousey with Bayley (or Heel Emma preferably) and having the group dismantle the Divas, leading to Rousey coming in later and picking them off one by one.
I think WWE is probably resigned to the fact that she's not going to wrestle for them. But if they could get her to show up and tap some people at Mania, they'd be pleased. That's all they probably want.
Rousey is a huge wrestling fan though, like uber-smark level. When her UFC career is over, I would wager almost anything that she's going to the WWE. And really the WWE would be foolish not to sign her; she's one of the biggest draws in the world right now, second only to Mayweather and perhaps one or two other top fighters in the UFC.
I was Googling some Tyson/WWE stuff because I was rewatching that stuff on the Network recently, and he basically said being in that ring is the equivalent of crack (and he would know!), and that nothing really compares to the role playing and the good guy/bad guy stuff, and those fans going nuts. I think the interview was from two years ago. He was saying even two years ago he really wished there was something he could do to get back involved. He was also furious about the Mayweather/WWE stuff.
It's entirely possible Ronda had the same experience. Who knows.
There's no way she's wrestling at WrestleMania next year unless she's out of her UFC deal; Dana would never allow it. But I can see Rousey coming in after her UFC career is over, because there are FAR fewer fights ahead of her than behind her. She's cleaned out her division twice over now.
That certainly is a possibility, I've never argued against that..All the people who have been talking on here as if they were really setting up a match and it would happen and they had already worked out the details has just surprised as to wow.....You can still turn even the hardened people around here into marks.
Anyone else watch the preview for the Bryan doc on the network? It was pretty good but I thought it was annoying how Miz and Cole said the WWE taught Bryan charisma even thought at every turn, WWE always says it is the one thing you can't teach. It was funny to see Bryan call them out on that tho.
The best story was when HBK threw a hissy fit because their tryout match time got cut short and threatened to take them to WCW.
I'm convinced most people who talk about Kurt Angle around her actually haven't seen him wrestle in the last 2 years. The guy is far from his peak, unfortunately.
After busting himself open at Payback in a match against Sheamus when using multiple headbutts, WWE Officials were not too pleased with him, saying it was "dumb and reckless." This was also against the same guy who possibly was the cause of injuring Bryan, but we'll just blame Ziggler because it's easier that way.
Oh, there's no way anything is set up yet. Everyone should know better than that. This company doesn't know what it's doing tomorrow.
I think if WCW was able to get Rodman & Malone in that tag match while both were active players, it's not insane to think Rousey could work something.
But there's the obstacle of Dana. He has nothing to gain by letting Rousey work a match, and any match with Rousey in it would basically have to be here killing someone in King Kong Bundy/S.D. Jones like fashion or else it looks ridiculously stupid and damages all involved. It makes WWE look fake, Ronda look silly, and UFC look like a culprit in this bullshit fake fighting.
Ziggler busted himself open by headbutting Sheamus. I'm not sure you could blame Sheamus for that unless he is Samoan and has an unnaturally hard skull
Since no one goes over Cena in the end (except Bryan apparently), it's really a shame that there's only one way for Cena/Owens to end. A win would do Owens wonders... if he was coming up to the main roster for good. Putting Owens over Cena and then sending him back to NXT for six months is such a waste. But putting Cena over Owens doesn't do anyone any favors.
Yea there is just no way. If She destroys someone I think she still comes off looking silly and WWE look fake (as you said) anything more than destroy and she looks sillier and could get injured. Non of these are likely to sound good to Dana ..A guy who has lost all his other major draws recently
What feud he would or could be in is beside the point. He should just at least be in a legends contract to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He deserves that much at least
He's not Benoit; he's not going to go on a murdering spree. Which I honestly think is what some people were afraid of at one point. And hasn't everyone said he's cleaned up his act with the drugs and alcohol? Give him a physical, test him for drugs. Or just bring him in for the HOF and don't let him wrestle.
But I would be lying if I said I wouldn't love to see what last Angle match in WWE.
Agreed. But if they're basically willing to scrap their plan for Owens to throw him on TV to try and create some Network sub buzz for a couple weeks, that doesn't tell me they care either way about his character going forward.
And guys they're not invested in don't get to leave Cena laying three shows in a row.
They could also air Elimination Chamber later and have the Cena/Owens match go on at 11:55PM, ensuring that subscriptions will roll over another month.
Was thinking last night how it's really nice to have Cena in the midcard, and that for once someone on top is actually being pushed as the focus and not as an afterthought while something else more important takes precedence (see: Punk while Rock feuded with Cena on top, Bryan while Evolution feuded with The Shield, Benoit when HHH feuded with HBK)
Owens doing some chickenshit run away and saying he isn't going to risk injuring himself ..having to drop his title and let Cena take food off his family's table could also work if done right to avoid Owens jobbing to Cena
Remember that time a bunch of folks got re-runs from the PPV companies when the Bryan/Orton main event ended without a winner after Big Show interfered? I never thought that would work
YEAH PAL HE COULD BE A COMPETITIVE EATER... THE BUFFET BUSTER! YEAH AND THAT LITTLE NIP PAL DOWN IN FLORIDA COULD BE HIS OLD NEMESIS! HO HO WHAT A FEUD!
There is tons of Loaded DNA in most modern pop rock and it flopped way harder than the banana record. There's nothing as good on that record as "New Age"
The podcast I just listened to Kevin seems to think Vince is a fan, all of his character stuff came directly from an interview he had with Dusty Rhodes and apparently when Dusty told Vince about him Vince was totally supportive of just letting him have the "family man that wants to win for money" character.
I can't wait for one for Milwaukee's Bradley Center, especially since the corrupt NBA is causing it to close: - 1998: Stone Cold makes McMahon wet his pants - 2002: nWo debuts in WWE - 2004: Taboo Tuesday competes for worst ppv ever - 2010?: R-Truth thinks he's in Green Bay
I would almost think they were losing money due to the free months they're giving out. But opposed to Nexflix, which has a larger user base and can afford to give out free months to individuals.
I disagree, the PPV companies have next to no interest in working with Vince again and now that the entire fanbase has been trained to go online...they've basically taught them to never value the idea of a PPV.
I would never in a million, million years pay $60 for 3 hours of television again (not that I really ever did post-2005 anyway because internet)
Stan Hansen used to say that a lot too, how he had a wife and hungry mouths to feed, and the person opposite of him was trying to take that away from him.
I liked the one against evolution. One of the bush league ppvs last year after mania.
ReplyDeleteThat...would actually be kind of fresh. I'd trust all four of those guys to drag something passable out of him too.
ReplyDeleteTLC; Evolution; Wyatts
ReplyDeleteCan't go wrong with any of those three.
I cannot get into women's wrestling at all. I tried to during that match on nxt ppl raved about but wound up fast fwd thru it.
ReplyDeleteThe annual "surprisingly good" Payback.
ReplyDeleteIt's becoming a tradition.
I wonder who's the Haku of the dressing room nowadays. It still boggles my mind that JTTS Haku was the scariest dude in wrestling to the point that guys like Harley Race are respectfully afraid of him.
ReplyDeleteSwagger and Rusev might be bad asses as they have the backgrounds. I've read that Santino wasn't a guy you fucked with, either.
Didn't even bother to watch this years and the network is a sunk cost for me. And I've already forgotten the card and matches I read about
ReplyDeleteI think it's just a different world back there now, especially as the old guys leave.
ReplyDeleteWhen Rusev said all women are the same and do things to get their men's attention...that would have been a great time for a YES chant.
ReplyDeleteTwo random four star matches and another three star.
ReplyDeleteRandom good show.
Though I'm not a huge fan anymore, Balor will probably have the best luck of the bunch because Vince apparently loves him. Owens is a can't miss, but Zayn and Neville I fear for.
ReplyDeleteI assume we're ignoring Brock. Yeah my wild guess would be Rusev - Muay Thai background and coming from a pretty tough place.
ReplyDeleteStephanie would be my pick.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Brock wouldn't count. He's not there every day.
ReplyDeleteYou mess with Long Island Iced Z, and you get the Woo Woo Woo!
ReplyDeleteYou know it.
Sin Cara took out Sheamus...
ReplyDeleteThe Biggest Arms In The World, Baby!
ReplyDeleteI'd watch Rusev and Barrett scrap.
ReplyDeleteAnd the boys cower in fear for the day he returns.
ReplyDeleteWhile the fans eagerly wait for it.
ReplyDeleteHis rampage on the post WM RAW is legendary.
Pretty sure it's Barrett with the bare knuckle shit. His nose is permanently fucked up from it.
ReplyDeleteEveryone takes out Sheamus. He might as well be called Ginger Snaps.
ReplyDeleteImagine going back in a time machine to 2008 and telling yourself that Tyler Black, Kevin Steen, Jon Moxley, Husky Harris and American Dragon would all be top WWE stars. Would you believe it?
ReplyDeleteCole has night terrors to this day.
ReplyDeletehe's good at getting punched in the nose then
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing Adam Rose or maybe Tony Chimel
ReplyDeleteOr that you took a time machine to the Reign of Terror and told yourself that Triple H would one day run the best wrestling promotion in North America.
ReplyDeleteOf course, if I could travel back in time I would mainly tell myself stock tips and outcomes of sporting events to bet on.
I've refused to acknowledge Conan the Destroyer for years.
ReplyDeleteTop stars? Probably not. But definitely in the WWE. Where else were they going to get their talent?
ReplyDeleteThe only two I'd recognize would be Steen (lol) and Bryan (too small). Add Claudio Castagnoli to the list as well.
ReplyDeleteGrays.
ReplyDeleteSports.
Almanac.
Santino seems like a guy who would indeed fuck you up if necessary. Regal was pretty badass in his day (and probably still is, sunshine).
ReplyDeleteI said this yesterday. I can enjoy Destroyer for how stupid it is, but Barbarian completely crushes it. Probably helped having John Milius directing the film.
ReplyDeleteHornswoggle.
ReplyDeleteDon't get that Greys Sports Almanac though, it's out of date now. Don't waste your one shot at time travel like I did
ReplyDeleteThat's about as funny as a screen door on a battleship.
ReplyDeleteBTTF II is such a disappointment now.
ReplyDeleteMake like a tree and get out of here
ReplyDeleteGetting called sunshine may be the greatest bad insult.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a flying Delorean in... thirty years :/
ReplyDeleteWhat are you looking at, butthead?
ReplyDeleteIt's 2015. I don't see Elisabeth Shue passed out on my porch.
ReplyDeleteHe does:

ReplyDelete“Oh rats, we didn’t think about the sequel so we’ve ended up with a female character to deal with. Shall we expand the story to include a female perspective?”
ReplyDelete“Nah, let’s dump her in an ally. Then once she wakes up, we’ll have her faint and we’ll dump her on a porch until the movie’s over.”
Then later, Rollins tries to hit him with a kick or something and he has this calm "oh you wanna play?" look on his face.
ReplyDeleteThat is... interesting. I never thought of it like that.
ReplyDeleteI dunno, dude. The mid 2000s had a whole bunch of muscle-head dudes from their OVW and Deep South territories. I didn't think a guy like AmDrag would EVER get a shot.
ReplyDeletePunk really opened the doors for the Indy guys.
"Your shoe's untied, McFly!"
ReplyDeleteYeah but those guys never hit. WWE is still gonna sign big dudes from other backgrounds but like only 1 out of 10 is going to be worth a shit.
ReplyDeleteSo are you saying you bought the house where they sat her on the porch? Cause that's what it sounds like.
ReplyDeleteCrazy booking idea:
ReplyDeleteNikki retains at Elimination Chamber.

Stephanie freaks out backstage.
Charlotte, Sasha, and Becky then carry the torch to Mania name dropping Rousey, until they figure out what her involvement and what the match with Steph is actually going to be since she won't be appearing on a ton of shows.
Say Hi to your mom for me
ReplyDeleteYou're right. That is crazy.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty much the dead-on truth. Zemmeckis has talked about that bringing Jennifer along at the end of the original was a huge mistake because then they didn't know what to do with her.
ReplyDeleteI had to get it out.
ReplyDeleteIf I had the money I would have. Then she would've woke up, and been all "where's Marty?" And I'd be "come on in dear, lay down on the couch, it's more comfortable than the porch swing, and tell me all about this "Marty" and his flying car".

ReplyDeleteThat's what Seth Rollins said.
ReplyDeleteSo they hired Raw writers?
ReplyDeleteIf E! cancels total Divas..sure but not while that show is still putting money in Vince's pocket
ReplyDeleteAren't the Bellas leaving soon anyway? I thought a point they made on that show was they're done when their contract expires.
ReplyDeleteHideo's t-shirt said, "Fuck you, dorphin! And fuck you, whare!"
ReplyDeleteSMH, WWE. SMH, indeed.
I'd also like if it read "Goddamn Mongolians!"
ReplyDeleteLet's be honest: did anyone really notice? Really?
ReplyDeleteI brought up a Four Horsewomen idea a few days ago, replacing Rousey with Bayley (or Heel Emma preferably) and having the group dismantle the Divas, leading to Rousey coming in later and picking them off one by one.
ReplyDeleteThe answer is clearly Stephanie. Now. Then. Forever.
ReplyDeleteI think WWE is probably resigned to the fact that she's not going to wrestle for them. But if they could get her to show up and tap some people at Mania, they'd be pleased. That's all they probably want.
ReplyDeleteOn Ziggler: "WWE Officials were not too pleased with him, saying it was 'dumb and reckless.'"
ReplyDeleteIn other news, today is Tuesday, and tomorrow is Wednesday.
Seth should have asked that the title match at EC have the middle rope removed. Dean would have no idea what to do.
ReplyDeleteShe's got that work out dvd...she can do those planks with weights and shit...so this seems legit
ReplyDeleteLegit LOL
ReplyDeleteShe's got the hardest slap in the business!
ReplyDeleteRousey is a huge wrestling fan though, like uber-smark level. When her UFC career is over, I would wager almost anything that she's going to the WWE. And really the WWE would be foolish not to sign her; she's one of the biggest draws in the world right now, second only to Mayweather and perhaps one or two other top fighters in the UFC.
ReplyDelete*Golf Clap*
ReplyDeleteNope She is going to wrestle at mania against Steph It's still real to me damnit!
ReplyDeleteplease no.
ReplyDeleteSomeone give this man a rimshot!
ReplyDeleteI said rimSHOT.
I'd sure be pleased if she'd show up and tap ME, if you get what I'm saying. Sex is what I'm saying. Sex.
ReplyDeleteCollabo? http://aspiringwwewriter.com/
ReplyDeletejust falls out and cracks his head ...gets eliminated
ReplyDeleteRimshot
ReplyDeleteWould Dana pull a WWE and pay her to stay home just to keep her out of the ring? I'm legitimately asking because I have no idea.
ReplyDeleteBray Wyatt hits the Sister Abigail on the Floor, 1..2..3.
ReplyDeleteThat's a professional wrestling angle. Try again.
ReplyDeleteYou could slap a submission hold on me baby. On mah penis.
ReplyDeleteI was Googling some Tyson/WWE stuff because I was rewatching that stuff on the Network recently, and he basically said being in that ring is the equivalent of crack (and he would know!), and that nothing really compares to the role playing and the good guy/bad guy stuff, and those fans going nuts. ReplyDeleteNo that doesn't help UFC. Dana is going to pull a smart business move and not have her fake fighting for another company
ReplyDeleteI'll tap faster than Cat Zingano.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of rims. Saw the trailer for the new Vacation movie at Mad Max the other night. It looks decent enough.
ReplyDeleteSeth could just bring a hologram of a TV to the ring. I'm pretty sure Dean's head would explode.
ReplyDelete...so ...wait..I'm lost what are you saying?
ReplyDeleteAnd be like, "sorry I shot on ya, Ronda".
ReplyDeleteI think he lets her go as long as she takes no bumps, doesn't wrestle, and isn't compromised in anyway.
ReplyDeleteHHH vs. Rock with Steph and Rousey in the corners, Steph goes to slap her like last year, same exact spot.
Easy payday, everyone wins.
replace that rope with TVs all the way around. Ambrose just breaks down and cries.
ReplyDeleteBetter hurry up before the entire left side of Angle's body disappears completely. He does not look well.
ReplyDeleteThat certainly is a possibility, I've never argued against that..All the people who have been talking on here as if they were really setting up a match and it would happen and they had already worked out the details has just surprised as to wow.....You can still turn even the hardened people around here into marks.

ReplyDeleteGoddamn, WWE, try fucking planning ahead for real instead of just having a sense of what you might want to do
ReplyDelete"No."
ReplyDelete- Vince McMahon
It's gonna be kinda tough for LeBron to milk his ankle injury tonight after Stephen Curry almost cracked his skull open and still came back to play.
ReplyDeleteMe
ReplyDeleteAny of me
Ronda vs. Steph better go like John Cena vs. Everyone in the Wrestling Isn't Wrestling video.
ReplyDeletelol....milk his ankle injury.
ReplyDeleteHaters gonna hate.
Other People's Nerds
ReplyDeleteHe'd be a totally awesome surprise Rumble entrant.
ReplyDeleteYou forgot the PAL at the end. Other than that, sounds legit.
ReplyDeletePretty much - they kind of filled the same space once they stopped treating Angle like a comedy act.
ReplyDeleteDude acted like he got shot the other night. Let's not pretend he doesn't have a flair for the dramatic. Still, that was a hell of a triple double.
ReplyDeleteAnyone been inconvenienced or looked down on people who may die in the line of duty today?
ReplyDeleteAfter busting himself open at Payback in a match against Sheamus when using multiple headbutts, WWE Officials were not too pleased with him, saying it was "dumb and reckless."

That would be a good way to test the waters. Make it a one-off thing, and if it goes well give him a deal.
ReplyDeleteHe also forgot to call him Shelton.
ReplyDeletematch of the year for me.
ReplyDeleteI also think there was some weird vibe with Kurt and Steph that made Trips nervous and so he always held some contempt for Kurt because of it.
ReplyDeleteGod, I fucking hate Sheamus.
ReplyDeleteI take this Owens/Cena story as more reason to believe Cena wins clean Sunday.
ReplyDeleteAlso, KO had the upper hand leaving Raw
ReplyDeleteThe Rule of Go-Home Show Booking
I bet she did. She's a lifetime fan and a total nerd.
ReplyDeleteNo. If she decides to retire from MMA, then that's that.
ReplyDeleteZiggler busted himself open by headbutting Sheamus. I'm not sure you could blame Sheamus for that unless he is Samoan and has an unnaturally hard skull
ReplyDeleteIf they are smart (yes I know) its a dq and Owens leaves Cena laying
ReplyDeleteDaniel Bryan (if he's healthy), or Brock wouldn't be bad choices either.
ReplyDeleteWas Sheamus Potatoing him?
ReplyDeleteHerro, Shitty Wok. Take your order, prease?
ReplyDeletehttp://i.imgur.com/hPjITDN.jpg
ReplyDeleteThat's racist, because he's Irish!
ReplyDeleteI thought there was a famine?
ReplyDeleteIt'd be nice, but we should know better by now.
ReplyDeleteI don't see Owens getting pinned. Some sort of DQ/no contest is most likely.
ReplyDeleteSince no one goes over Cena in the end (except Bryan apparently), it's really a shame that there's only one way for Cena/Owens to end. A win would do Owens wonders... if he was coming up to the main roster for good. Putting Owens over Cena and then sending him back to NXT for six months is such a waste. But putting Cena over Owens doesn't do anyone any favors.
ReplyDeleteSamoa Joe's music hits, Cena hits Steen with the deadliest finisher in this business's history...The Rollup.
ReplyDeleteYea there is just no way. If She destroys someone I think she still comes off looking silly and WWE look fake (as you said)
ReplyDeleteanything more than destroy and she looks sillier and could get injured. Non of these are likely to sound good to Dana ..A guy who has lost all his other major draws recently
What feud he would or could be in is beside the point. He should just at least be in a legends contract to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He deserves that much at least
ReplyDeleteHe's not Benoit; he's not going to go on a murdering spree.
Where's Stan Hansen when you need him?
ReplyDelete"NOBODY POTATOES ME !"
Agreed. But if they're basically willing to scrap their plan for Owens to throw him on TV to try and create some Network sub buzz for a couple weeks, that doesn't tell me they care either way about his character going forward.
ReplyDeleteAnd guys they're not invested in don't get to leave Cena laying three shows in a row.
Who are you to hate on the player who survived the Great Midol Games of 2014?!
ReplyDeleteThis might be the biggest sign of just how much say HHH has right now. LOLCenawins = very little
ReplyDeleteJoe's gonna distract you! Joe's gonna distract you!
ReplyDelete"They pushed up the money match people are interested in so everyone could see it for free."
ReplyDeleteGosh that doesn't sound like some other wrestling company from yesteryear at all.
When you consider that none of Ronda's opponents have lasted more than a minute with her, the idea of Big Steph last five sounds hilariously absurd.
ReplyDeleteWinner of today.
ReplyDeleteHogan vs. Goldberg! TONIGHT!
ReplyDeleteWould you rike to twry some shitty chicken?
ReplyDeleteThey could also air Elimination Chamber later and have the Cena/Owens match go on at 11:55PM, ensuring that subscriptions will roll over another month.
ReplyDeleteI mean don't get me wrong I'm stoked for the match...but yeah, it seems like just another bad WCW impression on their part, that line anyway.
ReplyDeleteWas thinking last night how it's really nice to have Cena in the midcard, and that for once someone on top is actually being pushed as the focus and not as an afterthought while something else more important takes precedence (see: Punk while Rock feuded with Cena on top, Bryan while Evolution feuded with The Shield, Benoit when HHH feuded with HBK)
ReplyDeleteOwens doing some chickenshit run away and saying he isn't going to risk injuring himself ..having to drop his title and let Cena take food off his family's table could also work if done right to avoid Owens jobbing to Cena
ReplyDeleteHogan vs. Goldberg in the Georgia Dome on Nitro was fine. Not doing a PPV rematch was the real idiocy
ReplyDeleteThat would be amazing.
ReplyDeleteI know who Cena is wrestling at the PPV.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea who the champion even is, I assume it's still Seth lol
"TUNE INTO RAW, WE'RE OUTTA TIME!"
ReplyDeleteDon't be That Marv
ReplyDeleteI'm sure someone would find a way to sue
ReplyDeleteExcept it's true, I really have no idea at all what Seth is up to at the PPV.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing anyone's been talking about for a week is Owens/Cena
How much money is WWE losing from the Network? It must be an awful lot.
ReplyDeleteStill less than DA on TNA
ReplyDeleteSomethingsomethingherPutinjoke.
ReplyDeleteThe DA/TNA deal is probably a ton less than even one month of operating expenses for the Network lol
ReplyDeleteRemember that time a bunch of folks got re-runs from the PPV companies when the Bryan/Orton main event ended without a winner after Big Show interfered? I never thought that would work
ReplyDeleteYou could have had Hogan play up losing the title to Luger only to win it back the next week, like even if he does lose, he'll win in the end.
ReplyDeleteGreat avatar, and enough that they're giving away the product free literally every other month to try to entice people, that's got to be a bad sign.
ReplyDeleteBut they have over a million subscribers!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey'd also overbook it to shit.
ReplyDeleteThanks and LOL @ your new avatar. Your creativity is astounding.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure they're still losing money overall. I kind of thought they were treading water.
ReplyDeleteBut they've lost a ton of revenue because of the Network. They lost a ton on Wrestlemania alone.
How many day jobs has HHH had to talk Vince out of for Owens?
ReplyDeleteThe only way Bryan avoided jobbing to Cena was by getting injured.
ReplyDelete"Someone set us up the job"
ReplyDeleteCan they recoup any of these losses by just inserting 15-second ads or something?
ReplyDeleteDAY JOB, FIGHTER OF THE NIGHT JOB
ReplyDeleteIt's stupid for them to leave Mania on the Network. They could easily put it back on regular PPV and profit a lot more than airing it for $9.99.
ReplyDeleteEWWWWWWWWW, GET A ROOM, YOU TWO
ReplyDeleteThat would require people wanting to advertise on wrestling.
ReplyDelete"No, Vince, I'm telling you, he doesn't need to be an auto mechanic. How would that even make sense?"
ReplyDeleteYEAH PAL HE COULD BE A COMPETITIVE EATER... THE BUFFET BUSTER! YEAH AND THAT LITTLE NIP PAL DOWN IN FLORIDA COULD BE HIS OLD NEMESIS! HO HO WHAT A FEUD!
ReplyDeleteDidn't Chuckie P have that gimmick with motorcycles?
ReplyDeleteTime for more energy drinks! Bringing back Stacker 2 YJ Stinger!
ReplyDeleteI've seen a lot of people say they can't put the toothpaste back in the tube or something similar, but.... yes they can.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised, one of the old RAWs I was watching the other day had the original Playstation as a sponsor.
ReplyDeleteBut that was before it blew up.
There is tons of Loaded DNA in most modern pop rock and it flopped way harder than the banana record. There's nothing as good on that record as "New Age"
ReplyDeleteI'll pass. I want no part in seeing Angle job out to him
ReplyDelete"Hunter...his finisher could be the tire rotator"
ReplyDeleteThe podcast I just listened to Kevin seems to think Vince is a fan, all of his character stuff came directly from an interview he had with Dusty Rhodes and apparently when Dusty told Vince about him Vince was totally supportive of just letting him have the "family man that wants to win for money" character.
ReplyDeleteI'll be rooting for you and Darren Young to win the straps this Sunday. Wait, your defending the titles, too?!
ReplyDelete"The Fat Chick Thriller" Kevin Owens
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for one for Milwaukee's Bradley Center, especially since the corrupt NBA is causing it to close:
ReplyDelete- 1998: Stone Cold makes McMahon wet his pants
- 2002: nWo debuts in WWE
- 2004: Taboo Tuesday competes for worst ppv ever
- 2010?: R-Truth thinks he's in Green Bay
I would almost think they were losing money due to the free months they're giving out. But opposed to Nexflix, which has a larger user base and can afford to give out free months to individuals.
ReplyDeleteI like the Ho Ho part, myself.
ReplyDeleteThen vince said to Dusty....." I'm thinking Polka dots..for him" :Dusty: "HUNTA...HUNTA GET IN HWERE"
ReplyDeleteJust change the emphasis from when Mike Awesome used it.
ReplyDeleteTire Arn = the new Sledgehammer
ReplyDeleteI disagree, the PPV companies have next to no interest in working with Vince again and now that the entire fanbase has been trained to go online...they've basically taught them to never value the idea of a PPV.
ReplyDeleteI would never in a million, million years pay $60 for 3 hours of television again (not that I really ever did post-2005 anyway because internet)
( ͡° ͜Ê– ͡°)
ReplyDeleteStan Hansen used to say that a lot too, how he had a wife and hungry mouths to feed, and the person opposite of him was trying to take that away from him.
ReplyDeleteJennifer V1 was cuter.
ReplyDelete
