So here's an idea that'll sell 100k tickets to next years Mania. Hulk Hogan's last match Basically Mark Henry wins the IC title but keeps fighting jobbers, and the commentators bury him. They then show a virtual reenactment of Hogan vs Henry as the best of one era versus a guy from another era. Henry, managed by Paul Heyman for reasons, demands a match with Hogan. Hogan appears in front of a review board all "eh, Don't tell me I'm too old. I still got life in me." and they allow him to wrestle. Nick Hogan, dressed like a businessman, is all "Dad, don't." Hogan tells his son it ain't how hard you crash, but how hard you can crash and keep moving forward. Hogan vs Henry goes fifteen minutes, and Hogan leaves before they announce the winner to a standing ovation.
We then see images of Hulkamaniacs running through Venice Beach as "Real American" plays over the end of Mania.

ReplyDeleteNo, see they should have done Rocky V with Cesaro: Hogan helps train Cesaro before XXX so that he can win the ARMBAR, Cesaro wins but then takes on Heyman as a manager. Hogan is disappointed, but decides to just move on. But Heyman won't shut up about it and eggs Hogan on for a year, even as Hogan insists he's retired for health reasons. Finally, Heyman goads Hogan into accepting the match, but WWE won't clear him medically. Solution? Unsanctioned Street Fight at XXXI.

If Rocky throws the first fight with Creed like the original script had, how is the movie remembered?

ReplyDeleteIt gets remembered as a forgotten classic and not the franchise it became. Rocky would have no redeeming values, and he would be remembered for his wickedness alone. It might get a cult status like Taxi Driver or something, but I doubt Stalone ever becomes the epic action hero actor he became during the 1980's. He might get a career as a writer, work along side Copella or Speilberg - because there were plenty of shocking movies directed in the 1970's. It might become a cult classic, but it is never a franchise. There is no Rocky II or a Rocky III. Mr. T is remembered only as a tough man that bodygaurded for Leon Spinks. Hulk Hogan gets a good monster heel following - and probably works for Crocket since there would have been no Rocky III offer. Hogan still gets over, but it will take a different avenue. He may not transcend the sport, but Vince Jr

Maybe Bray Wyatt can turn face and become a Hillbilly Jim type character for Hogan to retrain. This brings out a heel Hillbilly Jim to train Luke Gallows and we had Wyatt vs. Gallows at Wrestlemania 32.

I figured they'd run an armory, or at best the Manhattan Center for the NXT show. Running a TakeOver special the night before SummerSlam in the same building is going all in. I wonder what the card will look like to try and fill that place up?
